All tournaments will be held on PS3 primarily. We do have SF4 on xbox, but i will only use that for people who bring their own sticks in an effort to save time. If you like playing with an xbox controller and i put you on a ps3 you have been warned.

Street Fighter will be held on both Saturday and Sunday, so if you cant make it out Sunday thats fine, or if you want to enter both thats fine too!

Any questions, inquiries or concerns dont hesitate to ask. or call us at 281-397-8511. And dont forget, those of you who participated in our last tournament have their venue fees waved for this one. THX!

He says he can only run it on PS3 because it will eliminate video lag on the LCD screens they are running. So if you do not have a PS3 stick you will need a adaptor. i only have one, but i will let you borrow it if were not playing eachother that is.

PS: I will be at this tournament. I am going to test today to see this PS3 really can eliminate video lag for the scaling device.

Ya im sorry guys its a strange situation. We have a limited amount of space and in the planning stages we were not to sure about the cost/benefit of putting in last gen equipment. With GGXX having a progressive scan option and with the amount of research i did on our displays configuration there is almost zero lag for that game (running through component that is).

Street fighter 3 however is a different story just because the game is not available on any other platform besides dreamcast and PS2. I can tell you this, if we have a good show for the tournament SF3 will be monthly and i will personally guarantee CRTs.

I hope to see you guys there!

I know someone with two large CRT's they are willing to part with for 50$ a piece. He was the owner of stargate arcade if your ever heard of it.

And I went home and tested the game both in progressive scan mode and just letting the PS3 do the scaling for us, and there was still lag. Could be the TV I am using, but almost no lag is not enough for any serious fighting game tournament, I appreiciate that you are trying to fuel the community and run tournaments. But im afraid it might jsut not be worth it. Unless you really have zero lag. I know one person who knows how to get zero lag, Fubarduck. But it takes some external hardware.

If your intrested in the 2 cheap CRT's let me know. There in good condition.

In my testing for a lag free enviroment I discovered that my adaptor is not lag free either. So I had to test with a ps3 controller. So looks like my adaptor wont help either of us Faulty.

Im contemplating buying a HRAP3 for ps3

Its not the cost of the CRTs, its the space thats the problem. Its hard to justify a whole other station (one thats bigger than our other ones) for last gen equipment that might be used once a month.

That being said if the SF3 and GGXX community is big enough we will. I cant see how it wouldn't be worth it. we just opened and we aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

And yes different TVs have different input and scaling lag. I was on AVSforums for days looking at what TVs were the fastest and we got the fastest. Game mode, all advanced processing turned off and no 120hz.
