Lord Knight Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Litchi's ass wins 10-0 Matchup discussion. Post will be edited with general strategy.
kenn305 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 to start lol i think the best way to treat this match up is to treat her like nu and use your staff to get in. Most Mus love using her DP so try to bait it and punish. IB her rays to gain meter....i havent have that much matches with her so plz dont flame me.
ATGMantenbo Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) some Mu facts: She's unable to detonate the steins in the air. New steins only fire once. Any steins before it remain positioned until special command. Aerial Approaches her 2C beats all your aerials clean if timed, so don't jump on her mindlessly and also her j.C has litchi's j.C range and is as fast as her j.B or maybe faster, best air to air attack in the game IMO, it beats all your aerials too. She can AA with 6A too but it's not reliable against your j.B. IAD on her when you see her setting up steins (just like jumping over fireballs); her 2C is good but takes a while to start (similar to Tagar's 2C) Glide throw(airdash j2D~B+C in [m], airdash jD~B+C without) is your only reliable air approach so learn it if you haven't already; it's good for baiting and punishing Mu's 2C and is intrinsic for maneuvering through lasers. Ground Approaches In order to be effective in this matchup, you need to have a really solid ground game aka footsies. launching the staff is truly ultra useful as it CH's Mu while she's setting up steins but don't get too predictable with it because eating up to 7.2k+ from Mu's 6C FC while set/launch is just plain bad. Try to vary your staff launching from horizontal to parabolic launches. The steins will not fire if the staff makes contact (hit or block). her 6C has almost the same range as litchi's 6B; 6B is a high risk/reward move in this matchup .. use sparingly. 6D is an awesome poke in a sense that it advances you towards her. There's a spot just outside Mu's 5B/2B range that's really good for litchi. Your pokes at that range are much better than Mu's 5C and you can dominate her at that spacing. A good ground approach I found is run towards her and get ready to block a 6C followed by 63214C; IB the latter move and congrats, you're in!! Mu's pressure she can only gatling her overhead, 6B, off 5/2A and 5B; it is two hits and most Mu's followup with 63214C. IB the second hit of her 6B and punish with 2A (punishing with 5A is risky because there's a good chance they'll followup up with 63214C and this move makes your 5A whiff for some reason? and you'll get FC'ed while 2A is a free punish whether they followup with 63214C or not). Mu's general pressure ends with 3C > 5D > jump away; 2C them once you have blocked 3C for huge damage(if they jumped without barrier) or to catch them in your blockstrings in case they air barrier guarded; or you can dash airthrow them if you're certain they'd barrier block. Mu's oki whenever you see her charging 63214C on your wakeup, jump out immediately unless you want more than half your primers broken. cross up j.2C attempts are possible, so watch for them. If you see her dashing towards you on your wakeup get ready for a 2A cross-under. ................................................ Once you're in, RAPE DAT ASS; all you need is 2 or 3 combos to finish her off and remember to use Barrier Return while doing Itsuu Loops. Lord Knight Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 6D is really good against all her ground pokes.
Big Red Tie Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 is it just me or does 5C w/o staff not otg mu at least not more than once
ATGMantenbo Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 why have I never thought about using 6D as a poke? great find LK .. it looks to me that it can get past her 6C with no problems .. I'll do some testing and edit my first post soon you can 5C OTG Mu in itsuu loop or off any itsuuA > kote if they're high enough but can't outside of it.
FlyingVe Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Also, I'd like to add, that as long as that staff is flying around, it's really annoying for Mu. Setting steins locks her in place, if she gets hit by the stick, the steins don't fire, and if she tries to dodge it, she isn't setting steins, it's a win/win for Litchi. Also, watch out for empty jump and other non-contact mixup during oki. People get hit by these way to often. Lastly, there's a spot just outside Mu's 5B/2B range that's really good for litchi. Your pokes at that range are much better than Mu's 5C and you can dominate her at that spacing if she can't backdash.
