General Matchup:

Underboob vs cleavage

Litchi wins the neutral game, but you can't make a mistake. One mistake can lead into Makoto's huge damage combos, and you can't really disrespect her oki. Play it safe, run away, and try your best to hit her before she hits you.

Fullscreen:

-Set the staff.

-Use Shishin against her full screen projectile.

-Use 5D against Makoto's airdash in.

-Use 2[D] > Hatsu against Makoto airdash in if you have time to set it up. Hatsu is too fast, it'll beat everything.

-Try to position yourself so that you can always 2C (staffless) anti-air.

-If Makoto has 50 meter, don't run around hitting buttons.

Midscreen:

-Against Asteroid shot: use 3C[m].

-Against Makoto's 3C: 2C[m], 3C[m], 2B[m], 6D, staffless 2B, 3C.

-Against 5B: 6D, 3C, 5B[m], launch stick(2D set). 6D is the most reliable since you will always win the trade.

-Against dash 2A: 6D, walk back 5B[m], launch stick (2D set).

-Against jumpins: 5A, launch stick

-Air to air: jA, preemptive jB. Very dangerous to challenge Makoto air to air.

-Jumping in: Glide throw, fall with barrier. Try not to jump in too much to avoid parry. Makoto's 6A is way too good, it's impossible to beat with a normal.

-Really use 6D well and midscreen isn't bad.

-If Makoto has 50 meter, don't run around hitting buttons.

Makoto's Pressure:

-Parry Cancel pressure - don't worry about it :psyduck:

-J2C - If you have time, just backstep.

-Against 5CC > mixup - IB > IB jump > 2A. Input as [1, 7, 2A]. Done properly the following sequence should happen:

5C(IB'd) > 6B - Litchi jumps with rising jA

5C(IB'd) > 2C - Litchi jumps with rising jA

5C(IB'd) > 5C > 6B - Litchi IB's 2nd 5C, does 2A

5C(IB'd) > 5C > 2C - Litchi IB's 2nd 5C, does 2A

-Against teleport - lets figure something out! :psyduck:

-Against okizeme Asteroid shot - Can't roll. Just have to block. Best option if you have meter is to late tech, counter assualt.

Litchi's Pressure

- You can mostly just do whatever.

- Don't forget Makoto has a DP.

Mak's big issue is range. Just don't get to A+ range and you can out poke her so bad it's a joke. Asteroids at range can be met with a j7C to shut down anything she tries. In fact, even in close, a j7 will nullify most her asteroid vision options except AsteroidB, which she'll use the least (AsteroidC is the best at escapes, AsteroidA is the one to use for aggression). 2A, 5A if she tries to cross you up and you'll stop her cold.

Magic balls are guard break at Lvl3, so just be aware. That's her only semi viable threat ranged, and even if you jump in on it, jB will hit her before the ball touches you for damage/interrupt. Also note, random shenanigans will eat it to a Lvl3 Big Bang Punch. Finally, if she does get close and does 5CC, DP will punish all follows except block, even without IB. If you IB, 2A should be a solid option.

5A loses to Mak j2C btw LK. At best maybe a clash.

sometimes makoto gets close running and I try to 6B[m] her and she uses that weird ducking move. which normal do I use there? 5b[m]??

That's her 3c, and she is TINY during that move. 6D, 2B, 3C and 2A should all beat it.

I have yet to find something that beats her j.2C consistently.

If she tries to j2C you, just dash/backdash, she'll float for a moment (if she's trying to j2C you near the ground, make her eat it, j2C startup is kinda slow). At worst you can tech the knockdown. At best you can punish with 5b[m]. You can manten launch her out of it too.

If she 3Cs, you can actually grab her out mid animation. If she gets you to block, keep blocking unless you think she'll grab. Her 2A will beat out anything except maybe DP.

2A AA beats her jumpin j.C .. 5A AA is good but 2A is better against her

I'll do some testing tonight and see if I can figure something out to counter teleports

2A won't beat magic JC for sure.

Magic jC also beats backstep AND dp.

I'm not talking about j2C.

I'm talking about when they do jCC preemptively - this will always beat 2A, and this is how they primarily use it in pressure/neutral.

JC"C" is the move LK is talking about, I think.

that move beats all the anti air option she has, so you need to JA before it comes out, I'd say just guard it tho.

or just don't be in the situation.

LK, you should add that oki on Makoto is brainless with meaty 2B low profiling her DP.
