TK gauntlet hades always good against cloud spamming/j.D bugs 5C fatal counter is deadly, don't do predictable jump ins. however i believe TK gauntlet hades hits it out of immunity. belial edge gets raped by it, don't try that shit either. block low, watch for 6a, 6c and 6b (his other low) while cursed. 2a seems to prorate badly while the other 3 start high damage loops. he can cross you up with 3c, j214a, and 214b in the corner. save meter for counter assault while cursed. wake up laser DD is still viable, so watch for it when they have meter. if you block the initial part, then you can walk up and fatal (just don't get too close to the laser) j.B still clashes with 6a sometimes. j.C gets beaten clean by 6a and ID now, though.\ instant blocking 2a, even during curse (when they don't have a B bug on you, haven't tested C/D) is a free inferno divider if you can input it fast enough. even if they try to bait it, they'll still get hit unless they rapid, or special cancel with 214c on reaction (which you COULD react to/bait and get a 5b combo going)

I've had some issues with him, mostly what to do during bugs errrrrvrywhere cause I keep getting 9k combo'd, I'd say just not get hit but it takes forever for me to do anything to him, I can't do any combos that lead into decent damage. I know I'm new and all, but I mean, I've tried 5b>5c/3c>5d DC and tried 5c/6a and he never gets hit and I can't take it into the aerial, I've tried delaying the 5d after the 3c and nothing, is there something I'm missing here? I went through the combo thread and none of those said anything about Arakune not getting hit by that. VR-Raiden Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 In that vid, it looks like you were too far away for 6A to hit. If you hit 3C close enough, the 6A will hit him. If you did hit the 3C from far like in that vid, normally using 5C to start the air combo would work, but it doesn't hit Arakune. You have to stop at 3C and launch by continuing with 2B > 5C in that case.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 6A rarely works on Arakune, especially if you're spacing your attacks correctly. Use 2B pickup combos instead, you're only missing out on about 300 dmg and they're way more reliable.
Sh0guni Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 6a is way better for launching in this mu, 5c will whiff a lot. The basic 5b-5c-5d-dc-5c launch will whiff. For land combo starter, try dashing 5b-5d-dc-6a *launch*, etc. Jumping D is so good. Everytime he tries to escape to the skies, just do that shit 3 times a row, he wont do it again. Nevertheless, really hard matchup atleast for me... If the round starts with him getting an airthrow, I cry (free curse). And block those cursegimmicks! Don't try anything too risky during curse. One 613c combo aint worth getting instakilled.
MashThat5A Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The problem with the 5B-5D chain is that it can be punished easily, can be a little tricky to hit confirm if your spacing is correct, and I think it still does less damage than the 2B pickups becaue you can't 22C. 5B-3C-2B pickups like Titanium Beast said are just so much safer/ reliable because you can jump out of 3C if necissary. How should Ragna go about approching Arakune in the matchup? Is it all based on reacting to what he does?
