Sesshyru Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 The dropped combos won't be your biggest concern (well, it might in the eyes of an AC player, I don't know), definitely focus on your defense and you'll survive a lot longer to start practicing them combos in game. That's the thing. Maryland community is good wit helping me realize my faults. Just.. You can't practice defending in training mode.. TV Dinners, yo.. Who was that Tager Blaz Blue player fighting AlexBirthday on Wednesday?
krost Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 lol nah i wasnt chong mode.. at that point of the day anyway.. i was sippin from the 40 though but yeah props to ian for doing the combos, just gotta learn to deal with scrubby stuff like mash fuujin although even matt comatose gets hit by that kind of malarky...
Lord Orx Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Just.. You can't practice defending in training mode.. You could turn that difficulty setting to max in training, and set the dummy to CPU, and give it infinite max bar. Granted, it might not be realistic, esp. with that bar, but it's more random than playing back combos and defending against them.
Abominable K Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Only CPU character I'd recommend playing against is Potemkin. I played the CPU for a long time and it's how I developed most of my bad habits, but Potemkin (sort of) plays like a real one would (except you can't mixup the CPU lol).
4r5 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 max cpu potemkin. a good defense is a good offense. and a good offense is one that doesn't get p.bustered or heavenlied. but does ian have a ps2?
Sesshyru Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 *sniffle*... no... That's why I as bugin you last Friday to use yours.
4r5 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 Anyways, people are always like, "yo don't play CPU teach bad shit", but like so do bad players. So what's the difference? I think the CPU can be a sort of Fisher Price My First Opponent kinda thing. Once you learn the CPU, you can use what you learned in learning to learn other players.
4r5 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 How bout I just let you borrow my slim ps2 and AC? The only reason I always bring it around is cause you (and Matt, and Steve) never do, but if the reason you never do is cause you don't have one, then you can just hold on to mine and you can be the one who lugs it around everywhere.

Aye, back when I had my ps2 I always brought it around! There just happened to be a need for 1 more.. If Matt ever brought his PS2 out, they used it for MBAAPoopoo.

Sesshyru Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 poor poor MD GG. what happened to you? I started playing.
AmedoS310 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 So... Any Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist Players in MD? I going Xanadu on K-Groove Sunday with my ps2 and KOF games. What time does that start normally and do i need to bring a tv?
4r5 Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 Shrug, as long as you don't go there at some ridiculous early time the store should be open and someone should be there. You probably won't need to bring a TV, but bringing a TV does guarantee yourself a TV. I started playing. fuck you ian
Tarnish Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 If you're trying to run old games, bring a TV.

Yo Chongief!! Whenever Order SOl players do strings 2s > 6HS you can H fuujin in between every single time. Also If Order Sol does long range pokes into 'rock-it' you can fujin in between also. It takes muscle memory to punish OS stuff like the overhead but it's actually pretty slow (2HS) and you can fuujin through it or 6k. Now one thing since Slash that works against OS is Anji's 5s (extremely good poke vs OS). It has really good hitbox against OS and can react fast enough to potential far 5HS into HS fuujin > etc. Now I told Ian this several times on this board when you knock OS players down and you try to follow up with butterfly they can punish you with 2s > 6HS and the 6 HS will make the butterfly go over OS, Anthony did this almost everytime and will beat you before you can follow up with your normal. But If you expect that to happen you can throw butterfly > block the 2S > and HS fuujin in between before the 6HS comes and you can punish him for full damage combos since its in CH state. Also I would get used to using 6k more since OS jumps really low for his mixups and none of your specials or normals will beat his jump HS if it is too close aside from 6k. But you must do a meaty 6k to get the CH otherwise you will get a trade and he will recover in air before you do to get IAD into Oki games. In corners you gotta try to keep him there as long as you can and space from 1 1/2 sweep distance away since its enough for you to catch his GV attempts. Space out with 6s from that distance since he jumps very slow and is forced to SJ his ass out f the corner and you can grab him or air dust. Now if he does attempt the GV you can react with 2s > into knockdown. Its always best to get knockdowns on him since his wake up games are okay and easy to punish on reaction with 2s. Also this is some very nit pick type stuff but I would keep an eye out for his 5k, very fast very good close range normal. but If you suspect of him to throw attempt or do another 5k you can IBD after the initial one to get out of that horrid mess.
