parry has always been supplementary. Also, I don't need anyones respect. I am a ganster!!!

3S without parries is how I refer to SF4.

Ultimate Warrior used to be my favorite wrestler, back in the day, until I realized he was crazy. Apparently he's easy to combo, too...

When I play Pockymon I choose char lizard. Father say, fight fire with fire. I son of father, I say fight everything with fire! All the exp and pp up go to my char lizard. You water pocky? I one shoot you, spin fire! Not very effective one shoot, but still one shoot.

Brand new champion tomorrow. I return to lol.

Hi everyone. My first time posting here or on the boards for that matter so I figured i'd introduce myself to everyone and maybe ask a few questions.

My name is Darrel and I am a 24 year old male moving to Maryland in a month or so. Blazblue is the game I play the most. I played a lot in CT and I'm starting to get my hands wet with CS. I would largely consider myself a casual player in fighting games with a lot of games/rounds played online. I never really tried too hard to advance due to not being around an area with an active scene or joining any sort of online community. With that said though, I would still love improve my game by meeting/playing more people either online or in person in the future.

I've poked my head a little in this thread and I noticed most people here seem to go to Xanadu games. I also heard that only 3-4 people there play Blazblue? So I guess my question is how many of you still play Blazbue or how often do you frequent Xanadu games? Would Sunday nights be the best nights to play games other than Street Fighter 4?

If anyone is interested in playing Blazblue CS online my PSN is TentacleGrape29. My skill level is rather casual but I'm more than willing to play/learn/improve vs. anyone despite how much better they than me.

Out of boredom I've been messing with BBCS again, although I'm not that great honestly. I might hit you up on PSN when I get my copy back, but if I'm at Xanadu there's almost 0% of a chance of me playing it as I'd rather play GG.

You should go to Xanadu just to play other things, it's a good experience. Not a lot of folks like BBCS, but if you have a set up and play it then there are folks who will throw down.

Most of the BBCS play in MD is online, but that's mostly because no one wants to use the venue or has a very good understanding of what it means to use the venue.

Thanks for all the responses so far. Sad to hear not a lot of folks like to play BBCS, as it is kind of hard for me to get into any other game without anyone to play with. Either way i'll definitely have to check Xanadu out for the experience.

In response to most of BBCS play in MD is online, is there any sort of online community/does anyone here in this thread play BBCS online much?

Could you please elaborate or explain what you mean by 'no one wants to use the venue or has a good understanding of what it means to?' Such as if you could explain to me what it means to have a good understanding.

When you say 'having your own set up' at Xanadu do you mean simply bringing BBCS there?

Thanks, sorry for all the questions >>

You can bring a copy and then just guard a TV at the venue with gnashed teeth. I usually find it more reliable to, and this is what I meant by "bring your own set up", to just bring a monitor (Evo monitors are lightweight, which is what I used), your own console, and a copy of the game.

And by "Don't know how to use the venue", I mean they expect the venue to run BBCS there for them and then lay out the bait rather than just trying to build a competitive offline scene from the ground up. Xanadu, and MD/VA, is primarily built on Capcom games and Guilty Gear. BlazBlue is new and not well liked by Guilty Gear community here in this location, and the Capcom guys (I'd fall into that category), aren't going to take it upon themselves to run BB tournaments. So it would be up to BB players to use the venue and just keep running tournaments and building things slowly. But there's this expectation that Xanadu should just provide support when it's really just a bunch of guys who've been playing Capcom fighters forever as well as Guilty Gear. Why should they if they don't play it? By using the venue, someone would have to just keep things growing slowly, and I don't think the players understand that.

So BB in Maryland is usually online, but there are some offline players. I think it's just fun to go offline because it's a human element that online doesn't really provide. But I also feel that everyone has a good reason not to NOW because gas is hella expensive.

If you want to find MD online players, just explore the other forums here and look for "MD" or "Maryland" in the location of the person posting.

Thanks for the explanation. I had pretty much zero knowledge of what people liked to play at Xanadu, minus SFVI from page 1 of the thread.

Yeah, I usually play BBCS online but I thought it would be neat if people at Xanadu also played or I could meet people in this thread that were interested in playing in person there. Like you were saying though, I guess I could just bring my own set up or the game there to see if anyone will play. Maybe if people will play it there it can lead to more things. Gotta start somewhere, nothing to lose either o.o.

I don't think many people will immediately change their minds, but you'd be surprised who'd play you. Other than that, it's good to play other stuff with folks in the community if you just want to chill with games. Not necessarily just 4 or MVC3. A lot of weird stuff gets played there. Other than that, just gauge it on whether or not you like online BBCS as your sole fighting game romp.
