  1. TK HS Set YRC, airdash j.H (BH) is pretty cool. If they try to interrupt, they get hit by the sneaky ball. Not the most practical or devastating Venom set-up, but it does look slick and not the worst setup. Leaves you in a good situation even if they block the 2D xx S.Raid. (There is no way they're not blocking the j.H overhead as you can see in this video; it's more what comes after. Some players might be accustomed to throwing after a Venom AD j.H. Again, there are smarter ways to spend tension, but worst case scenario you burnt 25% on a little style and they're blocking a deep c.S) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKFJsUT2Tyg&t=0m34s
  2. Bishop is a pressure super. I'm sure at some point a CV will come out with Bishop hilarity, but if you have someone in the corner, you can do a two set into activate. Something like... (Corner, standing) 2K c.S 3hit IAD j.S j.HS j.D land 6H HS.QV P.Set xx Bishop. From there you can Raid the Bishop ball and react accordingly, keeping them pinned down at the end of your strings while hitting the ball. It's honestly a better super than Dark Angel, but harder to use properly. Angel is honestly his worst Super - it doesn't crank up that Gauge. If you're popping an Angel it's usually because you really need the thinking time / breathing room or have them down to mere pixels. Red Hail should mainly be used in situations to close out a round, which it does well enough. In terms of raw practicality it's not the highest ability Venom has on the totem pole - his YRC and Blitz use is far too valuable, but it's Guilty Gear, and as with every character, the more tools and options you have at your comfortable disposal, the better chances you have of taking the round. Getting a knockdown with 50% tension against someone and popping Bishop if you're comfortable with its use can absolutely seal the round. Will take some time to get used to!
  3. @Dai, don't get to play as much as I used to since I started working on the visuals for EVO but I've gotten to fuck around a bit. Need a new main since ABA is MIA, started with Elphelt, character is not interesting. I was watching Venom CVs before ABA even existed, Valon in particular, always wanted to play the guy, figure why not go 1-2 Drop at EVO but make that one win fresh to death! I'm mainly looking for a fuzzy setup I can do that I don't have to drop meter on and combo back down to another knockdown. The only way I think you can accomplish that with Venom is off having a ball set in the air at just the right point. A common way in CVs is off an instant j.K xx j.P (whiffs) falling j.H, with a ball hit off the j.K recoil. There's also some with instant j.H (BH) land 2K etc. Going to work hard to figure out one at some point, I got some mileage off of (against characters I can corner throw dash 5H K.QV like Sol) - (Corner) Throw, dash 5H K.QV, 5K 6P 6H S.QV K.Set. That gives you S Formation with K and S balls, S ball NEEDS to be right in front of your opponent's face. Then.. IAD j.K (BH) slight delay j.S, land, instant neutral jump j.S (fuzzies; BH) Only had like 5minutes to mess with that but I'm PRETTY SURE if my timing is on point I can airdash while falling j.S to combo off the neutral j.S BH. Will have to test more. Also the 2K idea Re: the first Fuzzy guard setup might work, I think I underestimated the 2K range first go around! I'll have to try it sometime this weekend.
  4. Was wondering if you guys had any Fuzzy Guard setups. I've been trying to figure out one that's somewhat practical. Right now I've got.. (Corner; Stuff xx IAD j.S j.H j.D land 6H;) land, K.Set S.Set, IAD j.K, slight delayed j.S, land, instant jump back j.H (BH) xx Struggle. However, I can't seem to get a 2S to link off the Struggle; I think the Struggle is probably hitting too high, or I need a low ball setup for the Struggle to hit low to the ground. Not positive though.
  5. VA Champion loses by DQ, but retains the title Edit: @Nas alive but old
  6. Avoid ever using 5HS against Millia if she's on the ground. You will get dashed under if you do it, hell you might even be dashed under BEFORE you do it. Only do it if she's in the air and you're confident it's going to hit. 6H is 'okay', but worse in this matchup than others. Pin makes things more difficult, and she can definitely make it whiff more than other characters. It's a tricky matchup to win in neutral. She's faster than you and has a scarier mixup game; you have berries and range. I've had a lot more success with 2S in this matchup than f.S. Keep her in check by tossing out the odd raw BXP in neutral, if you can cover it with an IAD back 4P berry, even better.
