I chose retarded early flights to get the best deal. 8:30 AM flight out, and a 6:30 flight returning. It'll be hella fun tho. A quick look on kayak suggests that the prices just went down recently.

 

On a completely unrelated note, could anyone enlighten me about why people on dustloop seem to be shitting on Novril (Dude who makes guilty bits) for trying to teach people on youtube how to play guilty gear? I dunno, it seems like theres a lot deeper of a hatred than just, "Your videos aren't that helpful" or "You should do this for freeeeeee".

Awesome hope you can make it. and I'm actually kinda combining UFGT with another vacation the week before it so doubt my flight would work for you.

Nam I do think it has reached irrational levels of hate from some people. From what I've seen of it Airdash Academy seems fine to me. I think if he never started that indiegogo thing you wouldn't be hearing any of it. Personally I still don't like the idea of asking for money to make tutorial vids but if people want to support that and it works, whatever.

Dustloop has become (always ways?) insular and myopic, kinda like MD SF scene. The big talking point is that people have been doing this for free, and he's not doing it for free. Except no one has really aimed at the same people he's aiming at. Like, that Notation/Memory Chunking video is great. I know I've had to explain this to people at least 5 times before. And a lot of the times, people don't know how to ask this question. You get a lot of, "Why do people use number notation?" and then 15mins of arguing latter, I find out that what they're really trying to get to is "How do I memorize combos?" And then who knows how many times I've explained why there is number notation and never reached what they didn't know how to ask.

Civil War VI is next weekend April 11-12. GG is Saturday. I think prereg ends soon or at least is getting a price increase. I've got 4 in my room so far, we can fit you in too if you want. Anyone else in here interested in coming? GG miiiight be getting one of the extra swords for 1st place.

All right I talked to the front desk lady at the hotel, and she said she changed my check in time to noon, but then I got an email saying my reservation was updated, and it still says check in time is 3:00 pm. So, I'll try again later.

No wireless? That's ridiculous, just make sure to charge the pad fully before tourney and remove the cord and turn it off when match is over. The only time I had problems with ps3 pads is when the cord was attached during gameplay. It will sometimes goto home for some reason. But just DQ the person that was on the console last if there were any problems. :/

Where'd you see that though Ian? What I'm seeing from the rva tournaments sight is they're "heavily discouraged." But I'm running GG so I'd let people use wireless anyway if they don't have other options lol. I'll just stand there and watch the controller get turned off after the match, not worth banning them altogether.
