mr.mortified Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I'm pretty sure DD understands number notation since hes been playing GG since XX... at least he better... and yes, please don't use number notations on SRK, people flame you. the only place i've found number notations acceptable is tech talk i think that's because people who post there actually think unlike most of the SRK clientele
Linear04 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 thats cus tech talk dont even play the games and just make and play with sticks just use the notations that youre comfortable with, obv capcom players will only really need letter notations since the only airdasher they have is marvel you could interchange the two and most combos in any game will still make sense. letter notations isnt that hard to figure out just like number notations
unsanctifier Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 The only thing I do not like about the SRK style of writing is the fact that not everyone remembers to put CR. for crouching and C. for close, it gets annoying. You don't get mistakes like that with the dustloop style...
BladeOfJustice7 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 thats cus tech talk dont even play the games and just make and play with sticks just use the notations that youre comfortable with, obv capcom players will only really need letter notations since the only airdasher they have is marvel you could interchange the two and most combos in any game will still make sense. letter notations isnt that hard to figure out just like number notations That, and there's a lot more "moves" if you will in the Arc Sys. fighters that we play. Requiring us to be more precise, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't know much capcom games where the properties of normals change depending on if you are pressing 4 or 6.
Nini Heart Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 They have 4 and 6 command normals. Most overheads are 6MP/HP/MK/HK
unsanctifier Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Yeah the more recent capcom games have more normals that require 4Hp or 4LP, used to just be a lot more of 6.
Roldy Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Gah, I feel like such a colossal idiot of signing up on DL in November and not finding out that there was a toronto players thread until this weekend *laughs* . Anyway, whenabouts are good times to find players at Lovegety these days? Ideally for 3S, but KoF or GG or BB would be cool as well (although I would need to pretty much relearn GG from scratch since the last time I played it was around 2002 *laughs* ), and hell, I'm willing to try out the other non-SF4 fighters. I'm going to be pretty free in any of them anyway (my Urien isn't even fit to hold Ack's Urien's thong), so as long as it's something fun.... Sorry, but most of us gave up going to Gety due to MvC3 being console only. Edit: Wait, if you're going there ideally for 3S, then go Friday nights. As for directional normals, what about 3 and air 2?
unsanctifier Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 They have some Air 2's in SSF4. I don't recall any 3 moves in SSF though..
Nini Heart Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Ibuki, Sim and Rose have 3s. IIRC, those slide moves are 3s. Guy too if i'm not mistaken.
unsanctifier Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Well I know Guy's slide is just 2HK. His standard trip is 2MK. But that's not important.
Zeero Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 To make a thread on srk using number notations is straight up ignorance. Capcom players grew up with much different notations (qcf, fb motion, dp, forward down down forward) so of course you would experience hostility when introducing something new...kinda like here. A lot of ppl use it now but ppl go with whats more comfortable. You guys only think the number notation is gods gift cuz most of you started out with it. Its the same man Pui: Thnx for the combos ground string -> 236A 22S stanceB 22s stance6 5B 5C 4C 236B stanceC super I had no idea you were doing feral dash to get closer..thought it was just a wavedash. Also (they fly near corner) <blah> 236B 22S stance6 5C 4C 623B - have u found a way to combo in 236a or feral mode c as a followup to 623B? I can sneak in a standing m but anything after just doesn't connect...looks like i can only m s air combo I grew up with srk notation too! lol. no, I couldn't get anything to connect after the 623B because hitstun proration is too high by then... thats why i end the combo there just to fly them in corner, maybe a 5A into reset or something Corner combo I'm using however is... <up to stanceB 22s stance6> (dash puts you in corner) 5B5C4C 623B 5B 5C 4C 236B 22s stanceS 5C 4C 5S air combo otg ender6 does like 515k lol... if you dont want the air combo, go for the feral C super... does something like 620k On a side note, is it possible to get Jill on all the consoles at HQ? =(
unsanctifier Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Pui you're really getting into marvel :3 We need to play again, get an xbox!!
Leo7 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Whoa sent health nerfed to 850k (edit: conflicting reports, apparently more like 900k lol) spencer nerfed too (corner loop removed... pretty obscure nerf since no one did the combo in tourney) possibly more. edit: the patch is already out sir zerofalcon. Edited March 22, 2011 by Leo7
Zeero Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 wait what? theres a balance patch coming out? lol @unsanc: what kind of statement is that zzz why would any body want to play online seriously? and I still don't "own" the game lol
neorussell Posted March 22, 2011 Author Posted March 22, 2011 Pui: Mar. 25th from what I heard. They dropped Sents life from 1.3 to 800-900k. All speculations right now until the update actually happens. Darkdragon: i grew up with letter notations as well because of Tekken. Then Soul Calibur came out and used numbers. That's how I could migrate to BB quickly. NeoRussell
unsanctifier Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 So aggro so quickly Nobody said about playing online 'seriously' >.> zzzz
Linear04 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 http://shoryuken.com/content/marvel-vs-capcom-3-adjustment-patch-3973/ lol even i dont think that was necessary
Zeero Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) So aggro so quickly Nobody said about playing online 'seriously' >.> zzzz its coz u told me to get an xbox, and i'm against xbox. I think a balance patch 1 month into the game from release date makes the game even less serious than it already was. Good bye competitors lol Asides from that, balancing the life of a character to balance the character is the laziest approach developers can take to balance the game lol. Its a 1 minute change. sentLife=900500 DONE. Once again, Capcom shows their dedication to balancing games properly lol. if anything, delay the super armor frames on his moves and make the drone assists travel closer together, so that shit like "block 1 drone, u jump over me, 2nd drone becomes crossover" ezmode crossover doesnt happen Edited March 22, 2011 by Zeero
Zeero Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 so unnecessary, sentinel isnt even really a threat to competitive players outside of the easy DHC lol. however, nerfing akuma was =D
Linear04 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 agree sent was ez stouf once you know how to get past his shit 900k is pitiful
Leo7 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) this is more of a nerf to sent as an assist instead of a point character. he'll still rape scrubs on point, so scrubs will still complain. i get raped by sent all the time but yea 900k is too small, cause it feels like it almost makes sent assist obsolete. man, there are a bunch of characters that are stronger that deserve nerfing more imo. Edited March 23, 2011 by Leo7
Linear04 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 after playing today, i can honestly say sent as an assist is terribly dangerous i got a read on like 6 sentinel assists today and killed them with random super + x factor level one yay fullscreen!
