Qarx Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Sorry in advance if this has been posted before. I was practicing some combos on the PSP version of CT in eager anticipation of eventually being able to get CS myself, and found what seems to be a glitch. The combo I was doing was j.C dash 2C ItsuuA (the rest doesn't matter, but I do this while they're on the ground), but when I do this too quickly, Daisharin comes out instead of Itsuu. I don't know if this exists on the 360 or PS3 versions of the game, but if you want to try it, go ahead. I don't really have a way to record it, sadly. In case you're wondering, no, the opponent doesn't go behind me while I'm doing this. EDIT: slight typo.
Zenmetsu Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Well, whether this is a glitch is really up to your definition of what a buffering system is. Let's look at the Daisharin input: 632146D Let's look at your combo starting from the dash without extraneous inputs: 66>2C>41236DA In order for this Daisharin "glitch" to happen, you are actually inputting extraneous quarter circle movements between the dash and 2C, as well as the 2C and the beginning of IttsuA. This is what I mean: 6632C1441236DA When done fast enough, the game stores your inputs in the buffering system as listed above. The game reads this string of inputs and prioritizes the Daisharin super over the Ittsu special once you hit the 'D' button. If you get rid of all your "rolly" joystick/D-pad motions before and after the 2C, you will never have this problem again. Seems like an easy mistake to make when playing on a PSP.
Qarx Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Oh, I guess that makes sense. Thanks. Come to think of it, I've been given the impression that the PSP version's buffering engine is more lenient than the console's when a friend of mine (same one who referred me to this site) was having a little trouble getting a combo to work properly (it registered a 2 input long enough to turn what would normally be a 6C into a Chun, longer than the PS3 version did). Anyway, thanks again for the reply. If I need more help in the future, I know where to turn
