mikenapalm Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Well JP has him now and he seems to be the most hype DLC character by far. Anyone have a chance to play against him offline yet? I played one online it seems like a normal zoning match up. His normals have way more distance than yours at close range. Though a well timed back jump j.6D might stop his close game. His ground super will do the full combo if it hits you. It looks like you have enough time to do Jayoku between the first and second hit. I don't know about doing it on super flash. I saw it beat 720 out of GF on super flash. He steps back at first so that might've been why.
Heroic_Legacy Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 "Shut your insolent mouth monster." In between the first and second hit of rush super you can jab him too. It's fully invincible before the wolf bite though. His midrange game destroys Hazama. That's about it.
LordSpectreX Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 You can IB his 632146D distortion to Jayaku.
Knuxxx Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I played a couple people last weekend before it came out and all y matches turned out pretty close. I won each of em but it seems like the mid range Hazama destroys Valk, but in close range that's when the match was in my control. I had to poke him from outside his range and come in quickly to get decent damage on him. It's hard for me to say who's matchup this is because it kept going back and forth
GigaDrive Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I just started to try out hazama about yestarday but my friends only been using valkenhayn against me and i think iv gotten a few things down like. When he has you blocking it, i follow up with 3C > 214D~C > 5C > 2C > 6D~A > 6D~D > [J.5C x 5 ] > JC > [J.C x 5] > 214B When he does the Kicking Distortion to come at you. I use 2D~B ( To get over his kicking furry.) > (Dash x 2) > J.2C > 214D~C > 5C > 2C > 6D > 623D > 632146C. (Requires 50% heat, but by the time he has 50%, you should too.) These might be alittle nubly but...I just started. Give me a break?
NumeroGaijin Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 You don't even need to IB his 632146D distortion in order to hit with it. It is punishable on normal block as well
Lithium Flower Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 From what I have seen so far Valk out powers Hazama by a lot but Hazama can control the match better, The only real problem I seem to have while fighting a Valkenhayn is when he transforms into the wolf and charges at me. I have a hard time knocking him out of it. Other then that he is easy to bait and long-mid is range and at close range he is pretty much at your mercy. Valk has some nice mid range stuff that can jack you up but if you get in close he seems to get beat out by a lot of Hazama's moves.
Guardian Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 -Hazama has to zone. HAS TO. If Valk starts his pressure, it's gonna be hard for hazama to escape, especially if he's rushing in wolf mode. Lots of 4/6/5D~A here to bait wolf dashes. -Valk's 6A is practically a srk, especially w/ an IB, so close pressure will only take you so far. -You shouldn't be fighting him (or anyone else for that matter) at mid-range, as that's Hazama's weakest range. -Valk's wolf normals are gdlk, so only poke w/ chains, specials, or well timed normals (5A, 2A, 5C, 3C) -He doesn't get a free mixup after a blocked 236A. If he transforms, a 2A/5A will hit him before he can mix you up.. -Valk is a walking overhead. If there's any doubt, stand. His human lows are below average. (2B is pretty slow, 3C is punishable on IB iirc, just jump 236B)
