RavenOmni Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Date: December 4th Times: Guilty Gear Start Time: 2pm BlazBlue Start Time: 4pm Come early so you'll have time to register. Location: Gameclucks 18717 76th Ave W #A, Lynnwood, WA 98037 Registration Fee: GG:AC: $5 BB:CS: $5 Venue Fee: $5 Pot: This will be decided depending on how many people attend. If we don't get many people then winner take all. General: - We have plenty of 360s but for those who absolutely WANT to play on the PS3 then BRING YOUR OWN SETUPS, TVs, consoles, controllers/sticks, games, etc. I can't stress this enough. This goes for Guilty Gear especially. We don't have any PS2s so we need people to bring in their setups. I will be able to supply one setup each for both games but that's all. - Bring your own controllers/Sticks or borrow one from someone else if they'll let you. - Button mapping is allowed. Let your opponent know before hand that you wish to do a button check/mapping - Pausing during a round will count as a disqualification. - The loser is allowed to switch characters, the winner must keep the same character. Rules: Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core - Double Elimination - Timer set to 99 Seconds - Best 2 out of 3 rounds - Best 2 out of 3 matches - Grand Finals are best 3 out of 5 - Button Binding is allowed - EX, Shadow and Gold characters are banned - Kliff and Justice are banned BlazBlue: Continuum Shift - Double Elimination - Timer set to 99 Seconds - Best 2 out of 3 rounds - Best 2 out of 3 matches - Grand Finals are best 3 out of 5 - Button Binding is allowed - Unlimited Characters are banned - Concerning Valkenhayn, I'll decide on that once I have a idea how many setups we'll have. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am also planning another Tournament planned on December 10th which we'll be having an All Night LAN that same day. Chris is going to let me partition off a portion of the back room for this event. I'll have more information on this in the coming week. Also, for the first 15 entrants, $1 of your venue fee will go towards the pot, everyone after that will have $2 of your venue fee towards the pot. Want a higher pot payout? Bring whoever you can. This goes for both games. Also, if we have enough setups we'll section off a part for Casuals. This Tournament is also going to be used as a testing ground. If we can get enough participants we may start holding monthly BlazBlue/Guilty Gear Tournaments. So come on down and let's do this! blargster Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 NOEZ! too early for me T_T i get off work at 4:30... if i'm lucky =(
RavenOmni Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 That sucks >_<. Also, sorry for the short notice of this announcement too guys, didn't get word until yesterday that we'd be open to hold something this month.
huey253 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 valkenhayn should be banned! :3 EDIT: i work 3-8 on saturday have fun guys
Chaoschao222 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Ooh, 360, I'll have to see if I can get up to Lynnwood...
RavenOmni Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 I considered banning Valkenhayn due to him not being released for the 360 yet, but I figure if people bring in enough PS3 setups for things to run smoothly then fine. I'll make a final decision on it once I know what to expect. Also, quick question, I can move this to Friday as well if that'll work out best, just let me know.
Kuuhaku Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Lol. huey is being salty. :3 Don't listen to him. If I can, I'll try to make it. That weekend is kinda busy for me though.
RavenOmni Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 I was actually originally going to do it on Friday but Saturday would give us more time. I'll be holding another Tournament (Same one) the next week and possibly the week after that so if you can't make one don't worry.
huey253 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 oh, if its being run on 360, then we don't even have to worry about him. A couple tournements have banned valkenhayn, but its not too big of an issue. yeah, saturdays are bad for me, but good for most of the scene . EDIT: Finals are next week... so yea...
PrinceHyphy Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 i just put in for friday so lets see if i get the day off then i'll know if i can make it or not
RavenOmni Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Yeah, all we have are 360s but if anyone wants to bring in their PS3 or even their own 360 with a copy of their game it'd be greatly appreciated. Same with Guilty Gear, need people to bring in their PS2s and their copies too. Otherwise we'll be running both Tournaments with only one copy
Yugo Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 This just happens to be bad timing for me and some other oregonians, but we should be able to make it to the one that you would hold the next month.
RavenOmni Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Hey Yugo, I think I spoke to you a few months ago, Smash tournament I think. Yeah, this one was pretty short notice, not sure how Chris has things scheduled next month but I'll try to do something.
Yugo Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Yeah, I've even talked to Chris about you guys running GG/BB related tournaments. However he doesn't seem to think it's a good idea because not many people here seem to have interest. I hope you guys can prove him wrong!
RavenOmni Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 And that's what I intend to do. He saw the Aki-Con thread the other day and didn't expect much and then he saw how many people signed up for GG and BB and was like "Holy hell O_o". The crowd is here, we just need to get everyone together and show him we're serious. If we can then we can have monthly GG/BB Tournaments. If we can show him we're serious about it he's all for it. You going to the Portland Trailblazers event on the 18th, Yugo?
Yugo Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Yes I am, if you're gonna be there I would be glad to introduce you to some of the other Oregon players.
RavenOmni Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, don't have the money, transportation or anything else to really attend. Also busy trying to get these Tournaments going this month and it's a priority of mine as I have the entire month to get an idea how successful it'd be. If you see Chris try seeing if you can give him an idea how serious the Oregon GG/BB players would be if we hosted monthly Tournaments. Sort of put the pressure on you know. Good luck to you and everyone else going though. If things work out I look forward to you the Oregon GG/BB guys.
KayEff Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Dammit you guys need to stop hosting events on days that I can't go :<

You going to the Portland Trailblazers event on the 18th, Yugo? Trust me, I was really surprised at the turnout too.
RavenOmni Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 I've got some stuff to do today to organize things, if things work out I'll have more info later today.
gameclucks Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I dont take Yugo serious though... so him pressuring me wont help hahah I am adding HDR and 3S to the Portland Event. Also posting the Portland event in a few mins on here... Enough interest to add these to the Portland event??
RavenOmni Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 Hey, gotta try something you know >_>.
huey253 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 someone brought up that valkenhayn should be banned due to xbox players not having a chance to practice againist him. its a pretty good point, and he is currently banned at NEC (major tourney). normally I wouldn't mind so much, but not only is he very powerful, his hitbox is very hard for some characters to combo.
Jais Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 someone brought up that valkenhayn should be banned.... Lol, you are the one that brought him up as 'ban' controversy. Personally, I'd love it if he was available, I'm probably going to go 2 and out anyways but I'd rather do it with my main character then with a secondary.
RavenOmni Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 If anything Valkenhayn can be soft-banned for this occasion if available.
