Well, it takes FAR LESS than a year to learn the game (or most games), so the range of possibilities stated in your post would cover too wide of a range to make a comparable example.

I would love that. A job that I don't have to worry about losing if I want to take one day off because my boss is looking for any reason possible to fire me because he never hired me to begin with.

There is only one potential problem with that plan: What if his manager doesn't have a daughter? I mean the way Luna described his situation, I wouldn't be surprised if his manager was single.
