Milln Posted February 24, 2011 Author Posted February 24, 2011 The TN Community thread on SRK got really upset that I even added MvC3 to our lineup because the Memphis people wanted a tournament the same day and were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo upset and scared that they'd actually get a drop in attendance. What's even more ridiculous is that they feel they -own- the second weekend of a highly anticipated game's launch for an entire state. I'm over West Tennessee SRK. The Nashville guys and everyone else however, are hilarious and I love them, even if I don't have much in common and there's little conversation. I'm all for one or a couple of you guys putting this on GameFAQs to attract BlazBlue/MvC3 nooblet troll-wannabes that think they know anything about video games. I'd have done it myself, but i've been overwhelmed with business.

In other news, my mother just dropped a major shock bomb on me. Apparently, she's got a new job offer that she's going to take up. Now what's funny about this is that the job is smack dab in Antioch. Coincidence, or is it the fate? Who knows. Either ways, imma be getting a lot closer to Game Galaxy so that's some sweetness I guess. Also, who cares about angry people. If they lose attendance at their tournament it's because those guys know where the REAL hype is! I recomend they find a guy with a funny name and beastly hat to host their tournaments like us. That's part of why I don't like Dante's playstyle, they really could have done a better job than having to mash a button for a move. Same with Super Scrub. God he's fucking boring and lame. I'm not arguing that Zero isn't popular/doesn't have fanboys. Nor am I arguing that against Dante. But from what I've seen some of the better Zero combos require a lot more execution than Dante's. The combo I've been working on requires you to pass the button you're charging to get to level 3 charge shot, and has 2 very strict hits on it timing wise. But I haven't seen much out of Dante other than mashing inputs into super, so whatevs As for the "scrubby team" just take your pick of the following and put any 3 of them together for the generic ranked scrub team: Dante, Deadpool, Wesker, Zero, Sentinel, Phoenix, Akuma, Ryu, Super Scrub Also I already posted on SRK, they were all "BUT MEMPHIS" so Idk how much any of them care. I know at least one guy will be going to our MvC3 tourney. Maybe I can get Boomcube to go to both BB and MvC3 if he isn't going to memphis. I'll post a reminder on the TN thread on SRK soon. They calmed down and said it was cool. Personally, I see TN in three different competitive regions: West, Middle, and East. Live in Middle TN and want tournaments? Go to the Middle TN tournaments. Gonna keep saving up a bit and if I get enough I'll get rid of my bad car and get a decent one. Thus moar Blazblue time. I'm not competing in Memphis' MvC3 tourney but only because Melee is at the exact same time and I'd rather do that. Hopefully I can attend the next MvC3 tournament here and the next BB:CS tournament with you guys.

My DM is trying to give me a heart attack. He calls today saying "hey I need to deny your time off request for this weekend." and I pointed out that he already approved it at the beginning of the month. I have done both Zero's and Dante's advanced combos and neither is more difficult. Zero's would be if you are using a pad and you aren't clawing it but since (I assume) you are using a stick it's not hard to slide your fingers around. Hell I played some Juri in SSFIV and you have to do that all the time even when you aren't doing combos. I did all of trag's zero and dante combos and really you can mash inputs for both characters because the buffering in this game is so lenient. Conclusion: Zero is gay, Dante is just as gay but more viable, and I learned arguing about technical difficulty when it comes to combos is silly since it's nothing hours in training mode can't overcome.

I'm sure Dante has some that aren't as mash friendly too. But Dante's definitely not "more viable" than Zero. You haven't even pointed out any reasons to back that up. Zero has less life, but both do decent damage and can warp around easily. Although Dante's warp is extremely easy to bait/predict/react to. Just sayin' Edited February 25, 2011 by Grimstar

I gave Milln the full details of my situation through a text, but long story short, I'm not going to be able to make it to MTNBB tomorrow. I was sick earlier this week, and I wasn't able to avoid missing some tests/quizzes. While the majority of my professors were more than accommodating on giving me notes and readings to look at, a couple were complete dicks regarding their make-up policies. Both seem to have adapted the "if you're going to miss something important you show up at a lab the weekend you missed it to make it up or you get a 0" policy. I already talked with both of them, telling them I was scheduled to work this weekend and there was no way I could ask off in time without severe risk of getting fired, but I guess that's nothing they haven't heard before, because they both gave me the figurative middle finger, even when I threatened to get the dean involved regarding making them up sooner/later. Needless to say, instead of having an awesome time playing fightan games and hanging with you guys on Saturday, I'll be taking harder versions of tests/quizzes because apparently getting sick is a punishable offense at Tennessee Tech. /blogloop I'm really, really sorry guys. I just can't afford to take this kind of hit, since this Business major has really been kicking my ass this semester. I'll be sure to make it to the next one, no matter what the circumstances. Hope you guys can have fun without me (haha) and I'm looking forward to seeing you all there/then. But in the meantime, I should get back to studying. Shit.
