wyze Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 thread bump!!! highlights as well as lowlights of the festivities were as follows: playing phaethonh, now socal has another may player, that makes 4 to my knowledge. now that can be a good thing.....or a bad thing depending on who ur character is of course! more socal mays to rival the socal johnnys! playing powerstone2, that brings back memories.....some good.....some bad.....but memories nonetheless. stormlocke we need that on big screen with the sound blasting that sweet music! i'll bring my dc memory card so we have the rest of the cast as well as items and stages! playing gnt4, i'm learning ten ten slowly i might add.....progress is coming along hopefully i'll become better gasaraki or whomever brought it, just keep bringing it. with progress comes the losses and i thank hf-blade as well as lp and gasaraki for those(don't worry i'll get better i swear!) last but not least gg's playing gg. kuro(carey?) thanks for the complement i wanna smiley too! hopefully my jam will be making an appearance in march if life/school permits me. for those i haven't mentioned great games as always it was a pleasure playing u all. it was also great to see those of u from a far come down here to san diego. @kbalch: avatar jacking confirmed, i'll put it up when the time is right. expect to see it here or at srk! once again thanks for putting up with our antics. at least u came away with some free shasta's so.....all went well.....hopefully..... @purrin&drew: it's been a while thanks for coming! @stormlocke: thanks for the modchip i'm hoping i can get a burned copy of rumblefish once get my friends ps2. btw plz pm me the site. @phaethonh: when the time is right i'll grace everyone with the awesomeness that is my av by kbalch. u will regret that u passed up his av offer! lol

So its good to have a place here to try and find other socal players even if srk is more active usually. and kevin those dancing kirbys were beasting. @TGS: I havent heard anything about slash machines. Dont know bout anyone else.

TGS Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 OK, plans for a future PSM Tourney (semi-regional tourney that usually has MvC2, CvS2, 3S, and GGXX#R tourneys up and running) are developing at the moment. If any of you have been to a PSM tourney, you know what kind of competition shows up (for those of you that don't know, big-name players in the SoCali area in all games show up such as Combofiend, Ruin, SooMighty, Pyrolee, etc. and we've even had some NorCal players like Leezy and even NY players like Josh Wigfall show up...), so you know this is a "big" event. Right now, the tourney director is planning on having the tournament on May 13th, which is a Saturday. Now the big question is... Should we throw a Slash tournament (ASSUMING it's out on Japanese console by then), or should we stick with #Reload? Note that if we do throw a Slash tourney, we are gonna be under the assumption that at least 5 of you guys are gonna have an import copy (actual copy or backup, I don't care) of Slash for the PS2 already by then, and I think we're planning to have like 2 or 3 setups for some form of Guilty Gear. Anyway, speak up. Reload or Slash?

Guilty gear tourney was played in a little corner on one little tv. all the other games were played on the Big arcade machines that were already there. so hopefully they do have more than one tv and setups, for more casuals and fun. yeah the psm tourney had alot of good players show up for it. MvC2 was fun to watch. Who won last year's psm for GG? i think it was either ruin or combofiend, or maybe it was CB

On a side note, I think that's like the 3rd straight time Ruin lost to Chaotic Blue in the finals whenever both have met up against each other in the finals of any tourney... I'm sure they should have more than one TV and setups because not only are they planning a tourney for some form of GGXX, they're also planning to throw a Tekken 5 tournament...
