@Jackie, above: use white, Impact, with 42 point font.

@Naimat and everyone: for an example, take Necro from 3rd strike. He has stretchy limbs like Dhalsim and electricity like Blanka but he uses these tools very differently than what the characters who first debuted these powers do, creating a whole new character that is fun to watch.

Storm is african...not very american but yeah. I kinda chuckle when skrull beats storm and he says as one of his victory phrases "hahaha inferior race". Ofcourse he means human race...but I let my mind wander~

So yo, people who play Ragna (all of MTN). How's it feel to have Ragna sink to terri-bad tier?

What you smokin', Star? Ragna's A tier at the moment. The tier list on DL past 10/11 is just predictions.

It's not like it means much. The gaps in the tier list are smaller than in CS2. Really any advantages are just match-up specific. Tao v. Bang is still 6-4, Tager v. Lambda is still bad, etc. etc.

How's it feel to have Ragna sink to terri-bad tier?

obviously the potential of 4k midscreen and higher than that in the corner while averaging 2.5-3k off random hits has fallen on deaf ears.

I know about his damage potential and buffed normals already. I heard he lost the most crucial factor of his gameplay, his pressure. I was told the barrier buff was killing him. No more ridiculous 5B> Dead Spike> Dead Spike> Dead Spike> FRIGGIN DEAD SPIKE!!!

Now unless he got something new, which he didn't. Staying absolutely the same while taking a hit from system changes is surely going to drop him.

Wait, are you serious? Deadspike has 28 frame start-up, and is only +3 on block. You can jump/poke/reversal out of it in many cases. If it's properly spaced, jumping is usually your only option. But still, Deadspike pressure is unsafe, and requires that you scare the opponent into not wanting to push a button or find a way out. Often time, the most effective use of Deadspike is to use it randomly in strings.

Examples

  • 2A > 2B > Deadspike
  • 2C > 6B > Deadspike
  • 6C(2) > JCC > Deadspike

Basically using it in places where people aren't used to instant blocking/attempting to get out. There is NO safe way to go into Deadspike outside of Deadspike > Rapid > Deadspike (which is gimmicky, still not entirely safe, and there are better uses for meter).

His REAL pressure strings look no different in CSX than in CS2, even with the barrier buff. Besides, barrier now runs out quicker in CSX.

He'll be fine, it's fucking Ragna, he's never been bad, and he'll never be bad.

EDIT: I lied, there is one safe way to Deadspike, and that is meaty Deadspike on someone's wake up. Guess how you beat that? NEUTRAL TECHING THROUGH IT. Easy to beat, again.

I only used the 5B> Dead spike as an example of what I get stuck in when i'm carelessly not thinking in the corner. From what i've watched it seems a lot easier to slide out of his pressure than before. It's funny that I even care about his pressure because most of the time the bastard'll never catch me. I'm just relaying some stuff somebody told me over a few games last night.

It is, but that's true with most everyone's pressure now. But since barrier runs out faster, people will have to be careful with using it just to get out of pressure, lest they want to end up in Danger state or guard broken (or both).

What I was trying to state with Ragna getting worse is that most other chars have other options such as zoning and what-not (therefore the change does affect them but not greatly). Whereas Rags has to stay throwing pressure game to do much of anything. I guess running out of barrier will be the key thing keeping ppl from getting out, hopefully the fear of that will be enough.

You do have a point there. Keep in mind, though, Ragna has a strong spacing/footsie/neutral game. It'll be a little frustrating in zoning match-ups, but other than that, it'll be alright, especially since with meter now, thanks to Hell's Fang proration buff and other slight changes to his damage and combo tools, a long range 5B confirm churns out 4k with good corner carry and workable oki.

Not saying what you said isn't true, because it is, but it's not gonna make him any worse a character than before.

P.S. Extend is without question best fighting game on two planets. I'm going all in once this game hits America, so much to re-discover. It's like a whole new journey except you never leave your house.

Bang, ever since I picked up Mu i've been having trouble with that Match-up. Relius looks really legit. I want to find a lot of broken bs with him and never play him.

Speaking of Tager, Astaroth if you don't make Tager look legit now that he is. So help me I will rage.
