Papstr Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 We all know this is the best game guys. Sweet jesus I'm gonna punch you.
Seiki Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 To me VS is like street fighter with more mobility options. So it's like small combos, strong yomi game, and every character has very unique mobility options.
LuminAbyss Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Sweet jesus I'm gonna punch you. Yeah put 'em up.
LastStarSaviour Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Yomi is meh, kinda hard to get into games with lil combos, like street fighter? You just killed any chances of me being interested, etc... Also Lumin, Brawl is the best game ever.
Jackie Chandler Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 kinda hard to get into games with lil combos Brawl is the best game ever. Lolwut
Seiki Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Star you do know yomi is what makes fighting games "deep"? Also small combos mean you have to play consistently throughout the whole round because it isn't your damage that is giving you the round but your ability to open up your opponent and not herp a derp and get three combos to win. I really don't get what you mean by "yomi meh".
LastStarSaviour Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 @Jackie: It was a joke @Naimat: It was a joke, (also small combo bore the fuck out of me) @Lumin: It was not a joke
Jackie Chandler Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 It was a joke I see Star's hard at work hyping those competitive vibes again. :3
LastStarSaviour Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Am I now? Hopefully you emotional people won't take it seriously this time. *Swears to god if anyone takes this seriously and gets salty*
Jackie Chandler Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 herp a derp and get three combos to win. Double post because I just realized we're talking about Marvel. I'm having a lot of fun with Ultimate, but I REALLY suck now. I can't pick up any of my old Dante combos, and I want to drop Wesker for someone else but I can't decide on who. At least Akuma's still pretty much the same with mid-air flips now.
Alphakami Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 VS may have small combos, but they are hard as fuck. Everyone likes different shit. I like GG, BB, and VS... but the only reason I still love BB is because of Valk and I love the engines and the play of the other games. I'm far better than out thinking my opponents and being creative than I am at following a flowchart and finishing my combos. I find that shit boring as fuck. For me turning a mistake or a drop into a reset is where the fun is. This is also from a player who can't stay in a focused and competitive mindset for more than a few minutes because I can't resist fucking around. Winning happens, loosing happens, but I always enjoy playing. It's the only reason I'm still doing this after 20+ years. I've met many an interesting person, but the most interesting have by far been those that understand the feeling of trying to think 60 times per second.
Alphakami Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Am I now? Hopefully you emotional people won't take it seriously this time. *Swears to god if anyone takes this seriously and gets salty* Don't take this the wrong way then, but I'll never take you seriously again. j/k lol.
LastStarSaviour Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Don't take this the wrong way then, but I'll never take you seriously again. j/k lol. MY GOD!!! THANK YOU!!!! Wait....is that a good thing?
LastStarSaviour Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) DoublPostSaviour Mode: I don't think doing combos is completely textbook in my opinion. Yeah there's BnBs but there's so much variety you can throw in to make a combo unique, also the mindgames that come after the combo has ended. Being able to see if I can wear the opponent down mentally then apply shenanigans afterwards (frustrating a nigga) is just priceless for me. Plus it feels good seeing all that life just disappear. But again, different games and mind-sets for different crowds. I'm honestly happy just being able to play BB at the level I am now. If I could keep this pace going I wouldn't mind just solo-gaming BB for as long as possible. Just wish I had more people who play it a bit more seriously to sit down, talk shit, and learn with (If I could eliminate net-play, god i'd be so damn happy). Astaroth136 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 ITT people who hate on games because they suck at them or never played them.
Astaroth136 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Also, hit me up in Ultimate some time, Chandler.
Seiki Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 My god hawkeye is so much fun. I've never liked playing lame characters but his movement and tools are really fun. Strider isn't as fun as i thought, kinda brain dead. Iron fist is fun, vergil is REALLY brain dead, nova is a completely unique character so different actually playing him than seeing the trailers. Wesker is derp, Magneto is still fun especially with repulsion/attraction. Team "9 more months" a.k.a. wesker magneto akuma is still beast. Been working on an amazing team of Magnus/Strange/Doom. Hidden missiles works so well with strange and magnus repulsion and attraction is really gimmicky with it to. Yo chandler if you want to do long ass combos with half the work choose vergil over dante. lol.
Papstr Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Been doin some shit with Ultimate too. I actually quite enjoy it, and am getting the hang of it! Of course, all I've done is experiment in training mode. Been trying to make Mr.Wright/Zero/Dormammu work, buuuut... the attorney is just too weird of a character for my tastes, as awesome as it is that he's IN the game. Other team I've been thinking of is Zero/Dormammu/Wesker. Dunno, my enjoyment of Wesker kinda feels the same reasons as for Dormammu: every animation just has so much POWER into it, feels awesome to hit shit. If only his voice was as awesome as Dorms. On a random note, it amuses me that Zero calls out "Mr. Wright!" as opposed to "Phoenix Wright!" that I've heard from others when swapping to him. I REALLY need some human practice though..
Jackie Chandler Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Also, hit me up in Ultimate some time, Chandler. Sure thing Astaroth. Like I said, I'm really not that good yet, but I'll be trying to improve drastically within the next week or so. I'm interested in seeing how the transition from Vanilla to Ultimate has effected you. :3 Yo chandler if you want to do long ass combos with half the work choose vergil over dante. lol. I only played as Vergil once outside of Mission Mode, and he seemed... Harder to me. XD I like that he doesn't have such a huge emphasis on OTGs, and to be honest, I'm still considering learning him (not surprising to you I'm sure, haha), but I don't want to sound like I've set anything in stone yet. Playing through Mission Mode a bit has made me realize I really like the way Spencer plays, so he's a serious contender for my team's "free slot." Frank seems really fun too, but he seems kind of over my head at the moment. I dunno. Suggestions might be cool. :P
Jackie Chandler Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I REALLY need some human practice though.. If neither of us are busy Friday, we should meet and scrub it up together. :3
Milln Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 I ain't playin' SHEE bout dis Marvel. I'm disappointed in you, Jackie. After all that, you went and bought it new? I'm jammin' to music and considering playing a psp game or something. Maybe even Deus Ex! Dr. Strange is cool, though. Dormammu is cool. Jill is cool. Shuma Gorath is a badass, everyone is lamesauce.
Jackie Chandler Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I ain't playin' SHEE bout dis Marvel. I'm disappointed in you, Jackie. After all that, you went and bought it new? I'm jammin' to music and considering playing a psp game or something. Maybe even Deus Ex! I'm disappointed in me too Milln. I ended up ordering it from Newegg that one week for $30. It was just too tempting. :[ You should play Valkyrie Profile on your PSP and listen to some epic J-Core. Better spending of your time cannot be had.
Papstr Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 If neither of us are busy Friday, we should meet and scrub it up together. :3 Works out pretty well considering my roommate will be gone for the weekend he said. So long as you pardon the messy/small room :3 Been stressed out lately. I could use some scrub times in mahvel
Milln Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) I've been stressed out lately, too. I could use some scrub times in Psychic Force 2012. ...Or Leagues.... or any other game, really. Just want my broskies. <3 No homo Funny story between me and Justin"Yoshiiscool" .... Me: I guess i'mma just play video games today, and eat fiiiine diiiniiiing~ (With my gentleman face) Him: Fine Dining? Me: Yeah, i'll prolly go out to a restaurant later, but now, i'm going to eat some hot pockets! Him: Hot Pockets? Really, Milln? At 9:30 in the morning? Me: Yeah, why not? Him: They say breakfast is the most imp--i'm eating a cookie, shut the fuck up. Me: Hee hee. Edited November 17, 2011 by Milln
