Seiki Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 As long as it's viewable, upload that mess. Naimat needs to experience magic pixel comebacks. It'll make him salty just watching it. lol Lol I'll get hype for magic pixel comebacks. We still need to play, I'm not as fray as I was in Vanilla. Who won KOF? and what teams were in grand finals? Also, WHY haven't i seen the easiest unblockable set-up ever in a tournament yet using Vergil and Wesker. Basically summon swords super, jump, call wesker gunshot assist, use vergil jumping C...it's like the round harvest set-up with trish except much easier.
Milln Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 A player named Kumiho won KOF. Said he's been playing since 2003. He used Flame Iori, Daimon, NESTS Kyo. Shin Blade got second with Flame Iori/Terry, Kyo, King. Lil Majin got... 3rd? with Athena, Ryo, and Clark. FIRST POST HAS BEEN UPDATED. Please observe.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 So you forfeit an entire match if you pause in KoF? Why not just one char, since it was one rebel in BB?
Seiki Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 So you forfeit an entire match if you pause in KoF? Why not just one char, since it was one rebel in BB? I agree with Volpe.
Astaroth136 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 OH MA GAWD, MILLN! Upload those matches today... please.
Jackie Chandler Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 No one ever pesters ME about uploading any more... :[
Milln Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 You forfeit the match in Marvel, what's the problem? I can't do just one character because how are we going to control meter at that point? By losIng that character, it must be reduced to 0 hp. With attacks. So you're rewarded in the end by receiving meter for the next character. Sure, it's the smallest amount possible, but then what about the other character? How do we control and enforce what attacks they remove your character with? Specials give more meter than normals. Some normals give more meter than others. Okay, so we'll just reset the match and put that offending character last and call it when it gets to them. In that case we're also penalizing the other player who didn't make a mistake by removing their meter and resetting the match and the flow. There's no real way to do this other than drop the whole match. Don't want this to happen? Don't pause or dashboard. That's easy enough.
Jackie Chandler Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Forfeiting the match in Marvel from pausing is reasonable because there's no break between characters. What's the problem? The problem is, none of us want to be put in a shitty situation and feel like we or our opponent got cheated out of a fair match, and in KoF I feel like it's unreasonable to lose the entire game because of a single pause (especially if something came up and the game NEEDED to be paused.) You say the pausing player would receive meter from losing their character as if being REWARDED for it. That's silly. In Blazblue, you technically receive a Burst for losing a Rebel, but you wouldn't say that a player who paused is rewarded with it because the Burst is significantly less of an advantage than winning the round. If for some illogical reason a player felt they would gain some sort of advantage by throwing a round in KoF to give meter to their next character, they would just sandbag. Besides, neither character has to be reduced to 0 HP to determine a winner. If you're that worried about meter playing an unfair role in a situation like this, just have the non-pausing player reduce the other to a point below THEIR current health and let the timer run out. You could even say "using Heavy Punch only" or something like that. It's a little overcomplicated, but it solves the problem if you really think it's that big of a deal. An alternative (while clearly worse) would be to restart the game and let the non-pausing player start with full meter/drive, since there's an option to do that. It's not as easy as "not pausing or dashboarding" though. There ARE situations where pausing is the only way to keep things fair, and it would suck for the person who manned up and paused to be punished for it.
Grimstar Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I AM HAVING ARCADE WITHDRAWALS HOLY SHIT BALLS
LastStarSaviour Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Melty Blood is in Final Round? Fuck, I must enter this at all costs but it might be impossible. Plus I need to train and...GOD DAMNIT!!!
Milln Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 I'm not penalizing someone for pausing if their hair is on fire. If a game must be paused because an axe murderer is running through the room, I'm not taking matches from anyone. Im talking accidents like fat-fingering a pause or dashboard. I'll consider options to keep things fair for both players and disrupt game flow should we use a "lose a character or similar" option. Most likely solution is ill opt for: you lose your anchor and if your current character is your anchor, that's the match. That would be the least disruptive.
Astaroth136 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 New executive chair!!! It is beyond boss status. Zeus himself isn't worthy enough for this new seat.
Milln Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Pics nao. Astaroth did you get it with your Marvel money? =D
Astaroth136 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Pics nao. Astaroth did you get it with your Marvel money? =D Sure did. To the victor go the spoils, and that's my spoils. It was half-off too, so I only spent $60 on it. Now if I had some Marvel videos to watch...

Jackie Chandler Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Holy SHIT those were some intense games. Really great stuff Astaroth, you definitely earned your place in first. I couldn't believe some of the trash talk that was going on though. Marvel community or not, that was beyond rude.
Milln Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) Yeah but what happened when he won was the best. FlyMike said it best: @ Lee: After that last win, whole GA camp cleared out like niggas at an interrupted dice game. You said you wanted that money to stay in TN, and you bought a jetpack for executive chair with it. Good damn deal. Edit: Hey someone go over there and say "DOWNLOAD COMPLETE" on grand finals part 2. I already blew my comment on a half-assed Kanye West reference.B don't forget to Like both vids Edited January 10, 2012 by Milln
LastStarSaviour Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Taken care of Milln. Hype shiz and props to Lee for running it back (special props for shutting that ignorant crowd up).
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 The ignorance levels in those vids. . .
