Alphakami Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Mucho fun last night. Enjoyed the games muchly. Psy2012 too much fun on the throwback, I fail a keeping guard and dash straight. KoF and BB always fun. Billy, good to see you again. Great thing about a man owing you a beer is you'll drink and play games later.... Milln, thanks for hosting, sucks you had to work so late, I know how it is. Great matches! Naimat, fuck your Bang, he's so much fun to fight. Could do that for hours. Good to see everyone I saw, and even those I didn't see, I think.
tret_tree Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Em... hi. Tret aka That Kid Sitting Next to Volpe aka That Really Awful Lambda Player aka One of Jackie's Friends here. Wanted to let you know I had a great time last night, though I didn't talk or play much. You guys are awesome. :> I'd do it again. Perhaps in the future, I'll be less bad and faceless. XD
Jackie Chandler Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Sorry for the late shout-outs. I slept for a REALLY long time this morning (well into the afternoon) and after that I was finishing this up: Before anyone asks, no, I'm not "switching to stick." I'll have it on the side, and I may try to learn it, but it's very likely that I'll continue to "main" pad. But anyway, enough of that. Shoutouts! Milln- Thanks for hosting us, and sorry you ended up having to work. We all had a ton of fun. I was a little disappointed we didn't get to play each other in anything, but I was pretty busy hyping over playing people in Extend. Next time I'll be sure to play you in KoF, or BB if you change your mind about playing it (which I hope you do). :3 Also, the Cookeville group isn't as shy as you probably think. Tret can be a little quiet, but before you showed up he was talking with other players about Lambda 'n stuff. And Eireprince isn't shy in the least, but he wasn't feeling well before we even left- thankfully, he managed to keep everything stomached until I got him back home. Next time, expect us Cookevillains to bring the mingle. :] K.O.- Don't die doing that Insanity thing. And remind me to buy you stilts for your birthday. Justin- No Melty Blood = :[ Boomcube- I'm not sure I said anything to you while you were there, but I definitely noticed your presence. Glad to see you making it to these kinds of things. Keep on being cool... And consider picking BB back up. :3 Eireprince- Hope you get to feeling better soon, bud. I'm glad you decided to come even though you weren't feeling up to it, and I hope you still had a good time. Be sure to play some of that Burei Buru next time. :] Grimstar- GG's in BB and SCV. I'm really happy you showed up- it's been way too long since MTN's seen you, man. Hope to see you around more often. :D LastStar- Gawd, nerfed or not, your Noel is as scary as ever. I have GOT to work on that match-up- Ragna doesn't have enough retarded bullshit to compensate. :P Keep up the good work, and I'll be sure to give you more of a run for your money next time! Naimat- Truly awesome games, I'm happy I wrapped up the night with them. I always love fighting your Bang, but seriously, the B.S. in Ragna really comes out in our games for some reason. That first round of the last game left ME salty. XD P.S. I have permanent dibs on a seat in your car whenever you go to get food at Milln's again. That was the best fucking adventure ever. Papstr- Thanks for giving me shit and keeping me in line all the time, lololololol. Seriously though, we never got those KoF games in to see who was right about... Whatever it was we were disagreeing about in BK. This needs settling. Soon. I'll even give you a handicap by using my fight stick! :3 (Except not really) Pickle- Good to see ya after so long, you've been pulling a Billy recently and that sucks. D: You're just a really fun guy to talk to and stuff, and even though we didn't really hang a lot while you were there, I enjoyed whatever conversation we had. I don't remember what it was, but I remember it was really funny. XD Tad- Sad face. I never got to face that wolf of yours. :[ We need to play some games some time soon. I'm really interested in seeing how you've been improving. Also, I was serious about getting into Guilty Gear when it hits XBLA. I wanna face you on that whenever it comes out for sure. :D Tret- I'm really happy you had a good time. It's easy to see you've been working hard to improve. :] Like I said, the best thing you can do from here is just play more actual people. Once you learn how to handle the pressure and catch those hit/combo opportunities, I guarantee it'll make a world of difference. :D VocalSabre- GG's, keep on keeping on. And thanks for sharing those stories- I got a real kick out of them. No offense. :P Volpe- Great games, I was really happy to play a legit Extend Hakumen. You're seriously the first one I've played. :O Naimat was right- he's like a hard counter to Ragna, and I have/had to be really careful about the things I do when playing you. I fear for when you learn exactly what to do against Ragna. D: Anyone I forgot- Lemme know I forgot ya and I'll shoot you a shoutout on your own message. :3
Grimstar Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 chandler, you need to switch to stick just to show off that thing, that's fucking awesome dude. Especially the Astral Finish xD
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Had fun. Good games. Soul Calibur. Hilde.<3 Really hyped for seeing everyone in Guilty Gear. Shoutouts are unnecessary; you're all awesome.
Papstr Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Yea seriously Chandler just learn stick. Also fix the C button. it's sideways and it's bugging the shit outta me. Otherwise that thing is a work of art lolz
Jackie Chandler Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Thanks for the compliments guys. The "problem" with the C button is that I didn't tape/glue the paper inside the buttons down, so they shift around a bit as I play. I actually took extra care to position them before I used the stick for the first time, but I didn't take the picture until after my test run, haha. The only thing I want to change about the stick that I haven't yet is the actual stick (I didn't have the money at the time of ordering the buttons to replace it), so I'll fix the buttons when I do that.
Alphakami Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Chandler, I've got a an extra, used, Sanwa JLF you can have to finish it up. The only thing I think you'll gain by moving to stick is the ability to play on any console, not being tied to a 360 pad.
Papstr Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Yea, not having to adjust to different pads is a plus with sticks, as well as being able to use an arcade cabinet if the situation ever called for it. Plus using a stick just makes you feel like a bad ass or somethin'. It won't automatically make you a better player, but I do feel like I have better control overall compared to a pad. Plus, you put together the darn thing, so you might as well use it!
LastStarSaviour Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 It was a pretty fun night. Thanks for the Open House Milln, sorry I had to go so early, Vocal was feeling out of it, I was just getting over a sickness, so yeah... @Jackie: Boss matches, boss stick. I need to get more. Ragna is such a lil fcking douchebag now I need to get used to that. Also, here's the quote you wanted: "We're Americans, we don't stop doing something cuz it's wrong, we do it until it's right" @Jackie's friend: It was fun talking about Blazblue stuff with you, I feel like I don't get to do that much with the others. Make sure to come back again so we can talk Lambda some more. @Tad: Thanks for giving me those tidbits of Guilty Gear advice. Once the game hits consoles i'll be playing that religiously as well. As Milln said, with your help I will become the best at GG, this fate cannot be changed. We're getting in one set of GG from now on no matter what dude. @Volpe: GGs dude. Once I learn them i'll teach you some Haku-Men oki options and how to use his normals more effectively. @Vocal: Props to learning Tager and Tsubaki and actually wanting to learn the game now. I don't know much tager but I definitely know some Tsubaki and once you get that PS3 i'll be continuing to learn her (You gave me a more legit excuse to learn her more than what I have already, thank you.) For anyone i've missed, IT'S TOO LATE!!!
Top_Cat Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 . @Vocal: Props to learning Tager and Tsubaki and actually wanting to learn the game now. I don't know how I feel about that.
Alphakami Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 On the Guilty Gear tip, I'll do my best to teach everyone if they are going to play. I think you all know how hard it is technically, but it's so rewarding. If any of you can ever go better than 7-3 in a ten set with my Ky (not online) you'll have done something special. Something that I would wager just about anything none of you will ever do. I so hope I loose that bet.

The only thing I think you'll gain by moving to stick is the ability to play on any console, not being tied to a 360 pad. and yeah, this is definitely the greatest advantage, especially after I got mine modded. Playing on PS3 pad suuuuuckkkedd

Does that mean that if they lose when they seek the prize that you'd have..... severed.... their greed...?
Alphakami Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Wager just about anything? Does that mean that if they lose when they seek the prize that you'd have..... severed.... their greed...? Clever overload!
Grimstar Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I'm surprised some of you turds aren't freaking out over SFxT... shit is like blazblue execution endless corner carrying combo shenanigans
Klein Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Snipingsnipe is getting really hype for it and the Persona game Grimstar, and I'll take that tricksy bet Tad, though I'm confident it'll take a while of preparation.
Seiki Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 lol too many fighting games. I'm just going to stick to BB, KOF, and SCV. Guilty Gear as well, but I hope it doesn't die like Third Strike Online did where people got hyped for it and picked it up, thought it was fun, then got ass raped by someone who's been playing it for 10 years and was like "eh fuck it" *goes back to SFIV*
Top_Cat Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I'm reaaaaly looking forward to playing guilty gear. I'm not really sure if I'm that interested in KOF anymore, tbh. I like SCV more, from what little I've played of it.
Seiki Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 lol so sad that you guys are quitting KOF. Can you guys not handle a game without simple high/low mixups? That you have to commit to your dps and random supers? smh.

Grimstar Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I'm sticking with KoF... finally decided my team is gonna be K'/Duo/Saiki TEAM DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY, COME AT ME BROS
Starlight777 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I'm sticking with KoF... finally decided my team is gonna be K'/Duo/Saiki TEAM DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY, COME AT ME BROS Swap K' for Ash or Benimaru to have pure FABULOUSNESS!
