I just had the first set of matches against a friend in CSX that got me as hype as our old CT matches did back in the day. He uses hakumen and I was using Relius, FT15... I took a big lead to 10 - 6 then he gradually caught up and it evened out at 14 each... Man was it nuts... but I pulled off the win with counter Astral. Felt so chandler man. Even if Guilty Gear completely flops I plan on absorbing everything I possibly can from you and training with you and Star as much as possible. Even if there is no scene for it, I feel like GG has a lot to teach me that I can take to other games. Star, you showed me just how wrong I was about Blazblue, and now I can actually begin learning something. I hope I didn't look too salty, I was just frustrated to learn that all my 'progress' wasn't real and I was basically riding Hakumen's coattails. I'd love KoF, but to me it feels like you DON'T have to commit to dps. I have been punished too many times whilst attempting to punish a whiffed dp, super, etc. Half the time I'm getting punished for punishing anything, and it's extremely frustrating. You tell me not to rely on 50/50's so much, Naimat, but with Leona it feels like it's either that or constantly spending meter. The balance issues really bug me because I felt KoF was about to be -the- game for me. I'll probably get my hands on another copy, but I won't get as serious in it. My focus is really going to be Blazblue, Guilty Gear, and prolly Soul Calibur. Speaking of which, Soul Edge + Pyrrha is damned disturbing. Oh, and Milln - What I was trying to say before but felt silly saying it out loud for some reason; Hilde doesn't need to be seen throwing niggas off cliffs. Really loving how she feels, just have to get used to needing a button to block. (I also kept trying to roll like it was KoF, and I didn't even realize why I was doing it) All in all, I'm fucking hyped. From now on I'm going to be working on becoming truly legit. Too much shit that shouldn't work in that game does work, and that is what frustrates me. It's a shame too because I love the characters I play and I wanted to stick with them. Unless I could get some really high-level player who knows pretty much every single detail of the game down to the "T" and has played since forever to show me how to deal with certain things, I can't see myself ever playing it seriously again. I'm still going to re-purchase it since again, they have characters I love,it just won't become anything more than a casual fighter for me.

Sure Blazblue has dumb shit about it but honestly if I get hit by something in Blazblue I can usually pick up immediately why I got hit by it. In Kof I feel as though everything I do or someone else does is questionable. It feels like the type of game that if i'm doing everything right, my opponent can still win even if they're just mashing their faces against the controller. I'm not smoking anything when I say this by the way...

When I get hit in Blazblue, I feel like its because the game decided to let me get hit despite me holding back alot. When I get hit in Marvel, I feel like I lost a coin flip.

A-C are just pure fundamentals and when it comes to fundamentals the smarter player who can make better reads wins. When you have high/low mixups that net huge damage, like BB, that's when the dude rolling his face on the controller has a fighting chance because that'ss when there are some situations where regardless of how well you can read someone it's just pure guessing. And that guess nets you 1/3 of someone's health? hmm...reminds of another game...oh yeah Marvel.

You should be able to beat anyone like that in KoF easily, because there's not a lot of shit that's safe in that game. All you need is a solid DP and you can beat any spammer. Sounds like you haven't taken the time to learn anything in it at all.

If you're losing to stuff in a game like KOF (which has a big emphasis on fundamentals like SF. Both of them moreso than BB imo), then perhaps theres something wrong with your fundamentals.
