Jackie "Inescure" "Broke It" Chandler.

Wielder of Chandler Factor; Throw out random crap, hope it works.

Jackie, this better not be because you've been playing so much Lux that you try to hit R instead of 623C

Posted (edited)

lol im not even going to bother learning matchups in training mode. It just sucks the fun out of playing. Tried doing it for like 5 mins and ended up just trying to do a clash battle lol.

Oh and btw I'll take you up on your bet Milln. Tad our first match in GG will be a FT10 $50 MM. ....but give me a bit of time to prepare lol X___x

I will gladly house anyone for MWC, again, this year.

So far I have Klein and Papstr.

AND MIGHT I REMIND EVERYONE THAT PAPSTR IS THE CURRENT REIGNING UNDEFEATED CHAMPION OF SAMURAI KIRBY.

You're right, Milln. At the end of the day, if I broke enough things and threw out enough random shit, I should be happy with my performance at MWC. Thanks for the uplifting words. :D

Nah, that's just the reason I suck at League. Every time I try to Flash out of danger I do an Inferno Divider input instead and wonder why it didn't work.

If we show up Saturday, I'll definitely take you up on that. It's kind of up in the air at the moment. None of the guys I'm bringing up would be able to make it Friday in time for KoF, and there isn't anything any of us want to compete in the day after. So if we show up Saturday, it'll just be to hang and for casuals and stuff.

Him sucking at fighting games shows reflexes aren't everything and him winning Samurai Kirby shows reflexes are everything.

Lawls at Naimat's new avatar.

Okay guys, serious mode. I NEED an inventory count of the following of what I can use from you guys:

BLAZBLUE CONTINUUM SHIFT EXTEND DISCS. For 360. (Also, is there any DLC that I need to worry about? No, right?)

SOUL CALIBUR 5 DISCS. For 360.

XBOX 360 CONSOLES WITH SKULLGIRLS

XBOX 360 CONSOLES WITH SOUL CALIBUR 5 UNLOCKS

It is absolutely imperative that I get numbers BEFORE THURSDAY. Why didn't I bring this up earlier? Because none of you are known to act without emergency.

I need these items, otherwise there won't be a tournament. I can only contribute so much from myself and the arcade has none of these. Astaroth, you were saying something about being able to transfer unlocks one time?

I can bring a BBCSEX and a Skullgirls 360. I can't bring KoF because it's still missing, and I can't bring SC5 because I'm assuming the person who took it by accident got it to you, Milln. Likewise, I won't be able to unlock anything for those two games prior to MWC, but if it's only a patch I need, I *might* be able to borrow a friend's copy briefly.

Also, how the fuck was BBCSII more popular than BBCSEX? I'm assuming that was just a typo.

EDIT: FUCK MY LIFE. AQUAPAZZA RANKED ABOVE 3S, BB, AND GG.

I was watching some Aquapizza matches after Volpe told me about this. I might've actually played the game.

I didn't ask for KOF. I do have your SC5.

So one BlazBlue, one Skullgirls.

Lawl at Dragonball being more popular than BlazBlue and Guilty.

Lawl at Aquabad being more popular than 4+unknown number of other games.

Lawl at Gundam vs. Gundam being epic legit.

Lawl at Propaganda Magazine stating what's popular and giving an obvious result: New game = everyone is playing it so other people see "Oh everyone's playing this! I should play it too!" and it in turn creates more players and migrates some people from other machines under a false impression of dying scenes because lots of people are sheep.

Or, the games could just be fun. Persona was out for about half a year before that poll came out. You have to take into account that some of these games do have a huge fan-base already.

DBZ is well...DBZ

Aquapazza might actually be a good game. Have you ever played it? Or are you just sticking the "it's too weeaboo to be good" title on it like always?

Gundam vs Gundam is hella legit.

I don't see how this article convinces anyone to play any of these games seeing as they were out long before it was published. If the games are popular it's because they are good and the people enjoy playing them.

I dunno, there are some things about that list that make me really question its validity. The main thing for me is, unless it's an error on the translator's part, there's no way CSII was being played more than CSEX, and "Guilty Gear Accent Core XX" should be "Guilty Gear XX Accent Core." But then there are things like Virtua Fighter 5 ranking over SSF4AE, and Aquapazza ranking over 3S, which I find incredibly hard to believe. I know Japan is a different place and what's popular there can vary, but still.

And on the topic of Aquapazza, I haven't played it, and I had heard people talk it down before I looked into it. But after seriously watching some videos and kind of wanting to like it (I'm a huge fan of the 2D anime fighting genre), what everyone else was saying about it was only validated. It's like if MvC3 only let you have 1 assist character, you couldn't switch out, and it was slow as fuck. IMO, it's very, very boring to watch, and I can only imagine it can't be that much more fun to play.

Does it really matter where they put the Xs are placed at this point?

Honestly I could see CS2 being played more than Extend, especially since a lot of videos are still being uploaded for it (plus I think it made a bit more since than Extend does now, minus Noel, Makoto. and Jin)

I could definitely see Virtua Fighter 5 beating Street Fighter, but then again, I could see anything doing better that Street Fighter.

As for Aquapazza, the only defense I can give for it is that a lot of high-level play is going to be slower at the neutral game, but that's due to how much damage each character can dish out from what i've seen. Pressure and mix-up still look about as fast as any 2-D fighter. I honestly can't say I see where the game is slow via the mechanics themselves. Again, this could be different if I had a chance to play it.

I'm not going to explain it.

I'm on Jackie's side with aquapazza. I watched a good long stream of it and I could barely stand it while eating some tasty Peanut Butter Crunch and things do TONS of damage. I don't understand how it can be fun, but then again i've also said "watching videos is the new 'I heard' ", so what do I know. Aquapazza also has an SBO slot, AGAIN, but from what I understand it's the only possible game for that slot in the first place. (The Exanimu slot or something)

I can also understand BlazBlue CS II being played more than Extend because this is an arcade poll, not a console poll. Arcades cost MONEY. And they also cost MONEY to upgrade cabinets. It isn't in the interest of less wealthy shops and establishments to shell out a ton of money to upgrade their BlazBlue cabinet(s) to Extend or purchase new Extend cabinets when people will still play CSII.

Why not? Do you not have a logical enough reason to explain or you just feel like not finishing the discussion you started?

It's definitely not the former. Nor do I need to elaborate any further than I have. Ergo, I'm not going to explain it.

I will bring a 360 with Skull Grills and BBC SEX as well, and I can bring a KoF disc, but no DLC.

Sounds free. Just trying to have a discussion at 4 in the morning. Oh well, guess i'll look somewhere else.

Hahahahaha your thin attempts to goad me wont work. Not everything needs to be a 'discussion'. Im not elaborating any more, so: "If you have to ask, you'll never know. "

I will bring a 360 with Skull Grills and BBC SEX as well, and I can bring a KoF disc, but no DLC.

2 Skulls, 2 BB, 2 Souls. Need more, fellas.

I don't need KOF, guys! KOF is on Friday, I'm only running Sunday, haha. Tad bring your Guilty Gear if you weren't already planning on it, I read that a couple Guilty Bros might show up for casuals.

However if anyone has a spare SNES+Samurai Kirby... I'll PAY you to bring it!

Not everything needs to be a 'discussion'.

No, but people like to respond when something controversial and honestly kind of silly is said. It either implies that you have some hidden knowledge of the scene that we'd want to know, or that you're just slapping your opinion on something, which could then simply be treated as such.

When has this ever happened, ever? If people played games just because other people played them, we'd have no shortage of pot monsters. . . I can't see Japan just hopping on a bandwagon because of 'propaganda', especially when this is the popularity of the games before the Top 10 was even listed. How could an article influence something before it was even released? People are sheep, yes, but only in that they avoid pushing society's boundaries. This is also a massive assumption, and generalizations are terrible ways to make a point. Nobody does things they don't like to do just because other people do them.

In any case, Japan fucking loves Persona. I watched a stream where people from all walks of life, including a bunch of women (gasp), sat down and engaged in high level play. Why would you devote yourself to learning a game just because other people do so? That's just silly.

I dunno, there are some things about that list that make me really question its validity. The main thing for me is, unless it's an error on the translator's part, there's no way CSII was being played more than CSEX. . . But then there are things like Virtua Fighter 5 ranking over SSF4AE.

Why not? Maybe they just like CSII's meta better than CSEX, where they all just end up playing Swagna. Virtua Fighter is probably the purest fighter in terms of yomi (Or so I've read). I can see it being big. As for validity, this is from the magazine that lists Japan's tier list consensus for BB.

I can't see this applying in Japan. Arcades are actually successful there, and heavily sponsored, so it doesn't make sense for them to be unable to afford the machines.
