Then again we're beat a little kid and his sister senseless So maybe it does pan out. Regardless the thread had to be made and something tell me that this match-up is as complex as the character we're fighting against in the first place. Have fun and try to find a Carl out there to practice on.
The Katz Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Less chances to IB > ID/BK. Burst if he goes for that ridiculous reset-into-reset bullshit (if the player actually knows how to do it). Most Carl players like to hit buttons or use Vivace when on spot, so staggering is an easy thing to do here if you give plenty of fake openings. If Ada's up in yo grill, shove you steel-toed boot into her chest repeatedly. No, seriously. 5B > stuff does heavy damage to Nirvana in comparison to what it used to, so if you can beat the doll, by all means go ahead.

However, I do maintain a close eye on Ada as well. I don't know about bursting immediately upon being trapped as long as it isn't during his I think 3c?

Carl is going to try to hit you with Ada Usually Ada's 6d or Ada's 41236D now keep in mind carl will be trying to get in on you, If he whiffs one of ada's moves hit ada with a well spaced 5c/2b/2a. If he tries Ada's 41236d try to super jump back dash to avoid it. IF blocked he can vivace to the other side and begin his sandwhich mix up and pressure. You need to know: Carl's 6a is a fucking godly Anti air. But if whiff'd it has a slow recovery so you can react with a 5b punish. A huge pet peeve of mine in this match up. If carl summons ada, When she appears she will be vulenerable. this may sound good but no. While doing what ever block string you were doing or if you just got a hit confirm on carl the exact time she was summoned you will get pushed back enormously losing all your corner momentum. Vivace (236a and 236b) a move where he passes through you in an effort to escape the corner or even get out an obvious gap in your pressure. No problem, If you see it,it can be punished by 2a or 5b. Also carl's Cross up j.2c can be punished on reaction with an Anti air 5a or 6a. This is all I can think of atm. Edited December 11, 2011 by Janiekenzu

This is obviously close to impossible if your playing a good carl but keep that in mind. Don't do a careless jump in just be stuck in a ragna sandwhich. Also carl has pretty quick normals in his arsenal. Don't forget to mix in throws and frame traps.
