The Philippines Thread #9 - Genesis Beyond the Beginning

Hmmmmm... It's been a while since I last posted here... Just checking up on what the PH is up to. Hopefully I can get a vacation near x-mas so I can go to the Philippines.

What were discussed in the chatango meeting today. Zen wasn't able to go online so we just discussed minor details.

None of these are final as of yet although there would most likely be a post with details. For now, these are just tentative plans for Cosmania (October 1-2; SMX). Depending on the size of the booth and how we can get one, still not sure about getting con space.

- Since we can't get a booth along with the current gaming booth, we'll have to get our own. According to Zen, prices range from 3k-7k. Where we get the money? We either go for contributing money as a whole or go fund-raising with the remaining time.

- Instead of just keychains, bookmarks are currently under consideration for selling. People with due keychains, please YM me for progress.

- Tourney? The people who are going to Cosmania are of a different audience wherein we prioritize making a scene by being an arcade booth. Like what I said, the decision isn't final yet.

- Regarding the space, still no details about this but through references, a small booth may be able to hold 2-3 stations. Still waiting for confirmation.

- SOMEONE raised the topic of a cosplay model. Since cosmania is mainly a con dedicated for cosplayers, we can get more attention this way. No one has volunteered yet.

- Challenge-X-Player

- Horse combos

- Tutorial

- BBPH Exhibition Matches

For now, that's all that has been discussed.

If ever, I can work on bookmarks as well, if we ever get artistic freedom here (by artistic freedom I mean we can use whatever pose we want, compared to keychains where we have to do the char select screen )

Also, if it's okay, may I pick up Jin and Ragna along with Makoto and Mu? I happen to have sketches for at least ...all of them? that might make good bookmark designs. Imma show them to you on the next cassies we meet michi ;3

I can probably get Yeni to work as well. probably just platinum though. I'm still not letting her do moo-sama

Bookmarks Committee:

Me and Mark were able to discuss a few details about this last night and I kinda said that it's okay if not all the characters get to have bookmarks. Famous pairings (ex; Ragna/Jin, Ragna/Rachel, Tsubaki/Hakumen, etc.) are a-okay along with famous groupings (ex; Tsubaki/Makoto/Noel, Ragna/Jin/Hazama, etc.). There's more freedom for this one but I guess to keep a certain theme, the characters should be wearing glasses (still haven't finally decided on this one, tell me about your opinions and stuff). Background is all up to you. I still haven't decided what the dimensions would be so just stay alert if ever.

Plans;

- Get this thing printed on A3 then cut it; the paper will be thicker compared to keychains. No need for lamination for bookmarks.

- Cut them out.

- ????

- Profit.

So making bookmarks are quite easier compared to keychains but we will continue selling keychains at the con (if it pushes through).

resonable na saken yun 2x6 inches, pero syempre kelangan ko din ng feedback sa mga participants ng projects. Aslo paki maintain sa 300dpi yun res para ok ang quality.

Zenithian: No problem! And I'm not sure if you and McArthur were able to discuss anything yet but, feel free to PM me the details of the con as well. We were working through references from my experience in con stuff so we need to make sure. ;w;

Aile: There will be more freedom. You can go with singles, pairings or triples. I said the other details on YM. Yeni can work as well but no need to force. Like what I said, this is a lighter project we're doing.

Hmm, masyado ata malaki ung 2x7 and 2x8. I think 2x6 is enough. Although 2x5.5 looks okay as well.

2x6 = 600 x 1800

Twilight child: Aaaaaah. I forgot to bring it up in the list of agenda for the con. I thought it was a joke though. :v AH has a big cast so I don't think everyone will get a keychain, but if you guys are still interested. It will still look like BB keychains. I might draw some characters but I'm not sure who are taken and whatnot.

Same with BB, it shouldn't be smaller than 2500px at any dimension and of course 300dpi for maximum quality. Just email it to me at [kokokokokoko_he@yahoo.com]. Also, there will be a payment of P100 for the making. This will include the printing, laminating film, and the chains. :D It was 150 for the BB Keychains Committee because the 50 went to me buying a laminator. :v I guess the poses here MAY be the ones in their character select/special portrait but I think it's better if the poses are more free; this will be up to the artist.

I want Saki, Heart, and Akane. I'm not even sure if I can draw all of them on time so yea, just talk to me on YM for details. c:

Received more details about the con.

Cosmania is at SMX (that building near the church at Mall of Asia). Function rooms 3-5. That's... pretty big.

Most of the booths are taken and me and Gelo were discussing which booths are okay. According the the details, the booths are of 2m x 2m in size. Booths at the corner of a certain block costs 7K while the ones in the middle are at 6k. I think this is already for both days. I suggest that it's better to get the 7k one since we'll get more advertising space and it sucks being in between two shops since we're a gaming booth. We'll also need more space for the stations. Still waiting for more details but I'll post here to keep everyone updated.
