Usually (not generalizing, I love weaboos) mahiyain, sa internet lang may angas, shut in lang, elitist, unsociable unless animu topics. again, hindi lahat ah, stating this because these guys can have the potential to be great players, given that they develop passion for this game. not saying that we should go and babycare this particular audience, let's just not be hostile towards them.

+ MVC2 Style na trip ng karamihan + Mike Z from a community of fighting gamers ang nag develop, malamang may leverage yan sa niche game such as AH3. Granted, I love skullgirls not because of "Indie Love", it's because its a solid game that is being cared for by developers.

but yeah, BB :)

Haha!

Ah, I guess I didn't explain some things properly, will do.

What I meant about the 1:1 session about people, we can make it as a group. I don't think the people would suddenly pick all 20 characters in one go and most people usually stick with the basic characters such as Jin, Ragna or maybe Tager idk. More people went to the bootcamp thinking, oh hey maybe I can ask some tips about how things go! Yes, I do understand that people won't want to go because they're shy and all that shit but the main point of that is for us to actually do something about it and let them leave their safety zone. Boot camp is one of the best ideas I can think about for things like this.

If we have casuals/tourney without offering any kind of in-game tutorial, people would think, ay ano ba yan hindi ko naman naiintindihan ano nangyayari. Parang ang hirap naman tong game na to, next time nalang ako maglalaro. Etc. Trust me; we were all like that but that's exactly why the regulars are still around, we've leveled up altogether to the point that we even know what their kinks are while playing. 1:1 may sound a bit too strict but yeah, if you guys observed, the new players actually watched the other 1:1 so it's basically 1:3 or 1:group. The new players are still looking for a character that they can be comfortable with so it's our part to guide them. It sounds like some cheesy shit but that's how it is; it's our responsibility as people who know that game to help them. Once they jump into the game, bam, we get regular players. That's how it really goes guys. Don't get me wrong.

If you hear other people's opinions on BB, they say that it's harder compared to some other games because BB is a combo-heavy kind of FG. I'm not 100% familiar with other FGs so I'm not one to say it but BB is that kind of game where 'if you know a combo, you're okay. if you don't then gtfo'. I mean seriously, have you guys seen a video where a character doesn't have any combos? Even though you know footsies or some shit like that, combos still play a large role in BB. This is why we're offering tutorials for them, it's to motivate them. Motivation is what gets you started, habit gets you going.

----

Okay, so final na ung sa Nisemonogatari? Mini-tourney? Y/N? Game din ako sa F2P but it's up to you guys for that. We can keep it as funds for future stuff (booths and whatnot) but yeah, up to you.

Tournament

I think theres nothing really wrong about the frequency of tournaments being held by BBPH. I think the amount of tournaments we are having are normal. The problem stems from people having more priorities than BB, in which we cant blame them for having other IRL things. We should not forget that some of our members are coming from Soul Calibur, Touhou, NARUTO and etc..... Thus making them spend their money primarily on something else and not just for BB. I have nothing against peeps who spend on something else. The cost of the tournament though is pretty cheap already (pero mahal para sa akin lol). If I had enough money I would have participated in every tournament possible.

Some people don't cum primarily because of the fear of losing (including me) and lose hope in competing and seeing that the same batch players win in those tournaments. The only thing we could probably do is encourage them to cum.

Or the reason of the cost of transportation and etc. Add the cost of the even ast well. Some people I heard would even go if its sponsored or just maybe if BBPH will grow very big and famous (which annoys me ultimately). The only solution I could think of is to widen the price bracket and increase the top 1-3 price, at the same time to decrease to cost of participation. So people might go just to reach top 5 for a small price.

Boot camp and Casuals

I would suggest holding more boot camps to encourage players to learn and get better, but we also need to do this systematically and not decide on the spot. Firstly we should also know who are cumming to the event that we could teach. Corresponding people who has the same main character as the dude/girl obviously should facilitate them, but we should have other people along help too. In terms of what to teach, it should be something like: basic stuff, combos and some character matchup. We also let them play first and see what they lack in these 3 aspects. And if we fight casuals versus them we should talk to them and help them improve.

This might help us manage the time much better as well and give some room/time for casuals. And also we should converse with them, ive noticed that there are few people who actually talked to them from time to time.

About Casuals, Im more concerned about the people who only go to BBPH at certain events. Maybe we should offer some food etc... to entice members to come LOL

New members from other FG

We could explain that it is just a different game and just say it is easy to play it (even if its not) and create similar analogies as other FGs. Although its harder for us to gather new members that will play the game at a hardcore level, because most of them are just otaku and play BB because of anime etc. Not to mention it is also hard for us to acquire new members from established fighting game because of they are already good in that game with a bigger community. The best solution at the moment is to keep our new members and turn them into hardcore players and welcome other players from different FGs by teaching them the game etc.

Im getting the feeling that we are losing new members because of the skill level of our best players and we usually beat them by a large margin at casuals and thus scaring them off.

I'd go for P2P na booth.

I've been trying my best to avoid saying this but it's true. Our skill level as a whole has improved especially comparing it back to CS1 making the level barrier higher for new people. Instead of getting them to idolize the game, they get scared seeing that they don't stand a chance at all. And yeah it's true, BB's audience is different. I mean look at me, I like BlazBlue not entirely because of the game. :v

As for Natsumonogatari, I'm game with the P2P system. The entrance ticket is 150 and I'm sure people would love to try out the games. How many stations are confirmed again? I didn't read anything about it yet or I'm just being blind. :v

Is the event this Sat, confirmed? Feel free to use the poster Ry made. c: Also ugh, trying to post on P2D, dunno what exactly but will try to.

i salute the new players na naamaze and naawaken ang inner BB juices for improvement nila upon seeing our "top players play" hehe though i know that's not the case, majority really are scared, anyway nkikita nyo naman sa FB may nagrerequest uli ng training hehe so dating gawi uli sa sabado! game ba?

sino nga pala may PSD ng salty saturdays? pagawa for this sat! HEHE =)
