Every Day

Now, I know some of you might be thinking... PSP TOURNAMENTS?! But I don't have a PSP! Or these games?!

FEAR NOT, because we will be providing PSPs and the games for this event.

Utilizing our new revolutionary equipment, we will be setting up PSP stations for a head to head style showdown.

Cost:

Pre-registration price for the convention is $35 for the full 3 days. Goes up to $40 starting 8/1. $45 for at-the-door registration.

Details about the convention itself can be found at http://www.akicon.org

The tournaments themselves are free to enter [however, you must register with the convention in order to enter the tournaments].

Format:

We'll be using a new convention-friendly "leaderboard" style, previously tested at Sakuracon.

Challenge anyone you want! Each day, we will be running a leaderboard and recording the results of matches.

The top 8 players on the leaderboard each day will qualify for the final top 16 single-elimination bracket.

The final top 16 will take place immediately after pool play ends on the second day of each event. If you can only set aside time for one day, come on the second day of that tournament you want to enter.

Each day's leaderboard is seperate. The top 8 will be taken from each. [Gundam/Index will use another method]

For the purpose of the leaderboard, everyone will be ranked based on the number of wins. Losses will only be considered for the purpose of breaking ties.

On the final day of each tournament, we will call out names from the top of the two complete leaderboards, starting from rank #1. Anyone absent will be skipped, and we will continue to call from the list until the 16 man bracket is filled.

General Rules

Top 16 will be 2 out of 3. Finals will be 3 out of 5.

Standard tournament rules will apply. Pausing causes you to forfeit the round. Don't physically harm your opponents, damage equipment, etc.

DLC will be unlocked and playable in each game.

Game specific rules:

Luckily these games don't have anything that needs to be banned. Awesome!

Prizes: To Be Announced! Look forward to additional updates in the near future.

FAQ:

"Does this format mean if I have 9 wins and 0 losses, I will be ranked below someone with 10 wins and 9000 losses"

Yes.

"What is this amazing game "GUNDAM VS GUNDAM"

"Kidou Senshi Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam NEXT PLUS" is the PSP port of the arcade game "Kidou Senshi Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam NEXT". If you haven't heard of it, it is a fighting/mech game which acts as a crossover for all Gundam series. Watch these videos and then go pick up the game.

Uh... Since very few of us have 360 sticks, it'd probably be better if BB was on PS3.

Well, I'm sure you know the drill already.

Hopefully Huey won't tell everyone to leave their PS3s at home this time.

Everyone brings their PS3s = We run BB on PS3

Everyone stays home = Good thing we had a backup plan for XBOX360

Sounds good. We'll just tell everyone to bring a setup if they have one. Too many is better than not enough.
