Musashi Xiii Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Anyone have some advice on learning combo's? I can do basic combo's no problem but once i get down to long combo's that require more technical stuff like ,jump cancel's or rapid's i tend to crap out ._. and i really want to fix this asap :3
YukiBlue Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Really, it just comes down to practice. Not much to it. For me personally, When I first got BB, I mained Bang (in CS1) and on the Bang combo list, there was a section for Tierwhores. Showing the Combo that leads to some sweet damage. an "Optimal Combo" So I went and learned the hardest combos for bang after I had that, With Jump cancels, FRKZ combo's and RC Combos. It took me about 5 Months. But after that shit becomes easy. TL;DR - Practice.
Musashi Xiii Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 well i have played since ct but i haven't really gotten serious about fighting game's until now , i have played challenge mode but a lot of those challenge's seem so unpractical -__- , or are u referring to a different combo list other then the one's given to you on the game?
YukiBlue Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Indeed I am. For the character you main, Every subforum has a Combo thread compiled and created by Dustloop members. These are the best combo's you are going to find on the interweb (Especially Ragna, Platinum, Tager, Mu and Noel) Some combo's also give the most practical, best combos to use. Check them out and learn at your own pace, it becomes easier overtime. + I have the mindset that Challenge mode only teaches you timing and move properties.

The Dustloop combos are generally the "Tried and Tested" on the battlefield. In short, they'll be the (relatively) easy, efficient, and most practical ones around.
Manta Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) When first learning a combo in training mode, don't be afraid to set the computer to not tech at all to start with. It means you get to practice all of the button inputs of a combo after all, seeing a bluebeat is all you need to see to know that it wasn't legit, you don't actually need the dummy to tech. After you get the hang of the input order, you can learn to tighten it all up so that it redbeats properly. Edited September 1, 2011 by Manta

Basically, if while you're comboing and one move doesn't chain well enough with the next (you're too slow, or those moves really can't be comboed together), then the CPU will block.
