Raine Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I've got quite used to trying to DP with Makoto as I get up and somebody is near me, but sometimes it just doesn't work, and people seem to DP/hit me before I can hit them as them wake up sometimes too. An example, Tager when he gets up, if i'm standing next to him and mashing 2A with Makoto I will generally get 360'd, but when I try this against friends when i'm Tager I get hit before the throw goes off. Same against Ragna he seems to Infernal Divider me if i'm near him, but sometimes i'll get hit before Makotos DP will go off. So I was wondering when do you do these attacks? I usually neutral tech since that gives the most time to start blocking before you get hit again(?) I assume you do it as the tech animation is playing then hold the button near the last few frames? If their is a thread with this information and I haven't seen it I apologise
Tong Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 360 is invicible, thats why it beats 2A's. Only reason it doesnt work with you, it is because either your timing is off or you're using the wrong version of the 360. Only the A version is invicible. 360's will never beat airborne/invul moves, like Inferno Divider. When to use this stuff? When your intuition says it's fine to do so, most reversal stuff can be severely punished. Thats why people preffer to block. Blocking is good. Neutral tech is fully invicible, nothing can beat it. To do it, press any button but D. To start blocking right away, use barrier. Hope it clears some stuff.
Raine Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 Ahh that makes sense now, I never really played as Tager, I just mess around with him against friends so that clears some things up. In that case I will work on my timing Thanks for the reply
Osuna Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) For the sake of accuracy 360A is only invincible after a few frames. So if you properly time an attack, you can still stuff a wake up 360A. Wouldn't want that to cause you any trouble. There's also a handy beginner section in dustloop for any similar problems you might run into while trying to understand the game. Edited August 27, 2011 by Osuna
YukiBlue Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I always block. Or if he goes for a meaty I just DP. character / matchup / opponent / heat dependent.
