Ok so this discussion has devolved into people quoting images excessively and making very weak jokes while trying to find the best controller to mash out 720 on.

How about that Tager guys? With his meter gain, and occasionally surprising active frames.

Anyone got option selects on rolls in the corner with j.B or something?

I tried finding some option selects against techrolls with j.B and I found that blazblue's tech options/windows are just too lenient for a j.B setup to cover many options. Most obvious problem being that tager doesn't have a knockdown that gives him enough time to jump - if you do 2D/4D or whatever into a j.B immediately, if they bounce tech they come up before the j.B even comes out and can antiair it with their normal of choice. If they don't bounce tech, you need to usually neutral jump to stop rolls forward, but then if they don't roll forward you aren't at a good range to keep pressure up after that.

I've found what works better for me is just doing:

Combo into collider into the corner > walk forward as much as possible > 2D > walk forward a bit

and then if they bounce tech, normal oki, otherwise, react to their non bounce tech with:

slight delay 5B5C, with the 5C buffered in so it only comes out if the 5B hits. If they did a delay neutral tech you recover in time to meaty 5A them on wakeup, and it catches forward rolls/downtechs/backrolls(if you walked forward enough) into an easy to confirm combo that puts them back into the corner (although you might not get 2D oki again, my combo from there ends in 4D).

I've tried j.B to catch rolls myself, with mixed success. It's great when it works; pick it up just like you would with OTG j.B > 5C. But as Isorropia said, it can't cover every possible tech option and you lose your oki if you guess wrong. It's probably better to use it on characters/players who you KNOW will try to roll out of the corner, like Lambdas.

I once saw a XBL Hazama use a Houtenjin OS for people who rolled out of the corner. If his opponent rolled, they ate a Houtenjin. If not, he whiffed a 5B. I've never tried working this into a real game, but I think a similar OS can work for Tager.

It's basically 21214A+B. So it might work with Tager's MTW as well but I dunno.

So far I haven't gotten the MTW to connect. It's probably too slow for this to work.

I somehow got Tager to sledge in the wrong direction. That should be an achievement.

Well, I've decided to give Tager a try now that I have Extend. Been maining Relius the first few days, but Tager's new stuff seems interesting enough to warrant some testing, if nothing else.Anyways, I remember someone discovered Tager has this weird loop now. It was like... *Magnetism* 3C>Collider>A.2C and repeat. I can't seem to find a video of it, though, and I want to show a friend, since I remember this looking pretty silly. Anyone have a video of it? IDoes it even exist outside my poor, deluded mind? It'd really help me out. I'd ask in that old general video thread, but I can't seem to find that anymore, either. @_@

Edit: Oh, there's a video section now? I remember it used to be in BB general...man, am I dumb. Sorry. Dx

You can't loop it. 3c has a repeat rate. so once you hit with it the second time in a single combo your combo damage goes to shit and then they can tech it sooner.

Ah, guess my memory is just trash, then.

Another question: When doing the whole Elbow>5B>5C>A.Sledge combo, do I delay the 5B, 5C, Sledge, just one or all three? I've been on challenge #12 for like a half hour now, only because I can never seem to land the sledge. Bang just techs right before it hits, and if I delay 5C too much, he techs before that hits.. xP

You have to delay the Asledge after 5C.

You do the Asledge as they are about to decend.

I actually wrote it in the combo thread in the F.A.Q.

I read the combo faq, but Bang seems to tech right as he begins to descend. If there's an opening there, it's really small.. @_@

you have a bit of give between 5B and 5C too. 5 frames of it.

Also fyi the only loop Tager really has is the 5B >j.2C loop from a fatal counter.

I love that elbow 'loop'. Lots of heat and pretty good damage lol

It's actually a bit tighter than usual on that specific FC combo I think.

What's the timing to cancel VC into 720 or sledge again?

VTC cancels into sledge only if you guardpoint something. And you have to input sledge while holding onto D.

The 720 cancel was removed. Unless you mean the cancel that's done during the startup frames of VTC.

Are you sure the 720 cancel was removed? Or do you have to do it right away as soon as you input VC.

Is there some sort of tip for doing it after a 5A? I can do it no problem empty but off of moves like 5A and 6A I can't seem to do it.

What is "it"?
