I saw more vids of EX Rachel and she's still amazing and solid. It seems now that you can't extend combos as much and you kind of have to stick to simple yet short damaging combos.

It looks like we're going to have to end simple bnbs or use j.2C(the anvil) a lot so we can keep the wind, pumpkin, and frog pressure. I could care less about her damage decreasing slightly as long as they keep her pressure, zoning, and rush down intact.

TBH the only really noticeable damage loss is off of cat chair, but that just teaches more solid defensive play to us Rachel players. I've been really impressed by CSE Rachel too, that J.2c>Pumpkin looks mean as hell. Did she get any really bad (noticeable) proration nerfs on her normals, because I thought she only got a bit of a damage reduction her combo rate got slightly reduced, which I believe doesn't affect hitstun?

Playing CSE with 3 amazing characters is going to be so much fun. :D

Edit: Disregard the proration part, just read she got a bit of a proration nerf. :vbang: Could anyone who has tried her possibly elaborate on how badly these affect her please?

Proration nerfs are by and large unnoticeable. You'll be doing the same combos for about 300-500 less damage than before, for the most part, and much of that missing damage is from her 10% character combo rate reduction.

The really long, extended combos (double BBL, double fatal, etc.) now peter off towards the single digits in damage per hit if you drag them out for too long, which is likely why you don't really see people doing those combos anymore.

Character combo rate does not affect untech time.

I could be totally wrong on this, but in the limited amount of time I had with extend, it seemed like most of my standard bnb combos into bbl were doing like a full 1k less than before, maxing out at around 4k instead of 5k. (or on a lesser scale 3.5/3.6k instead of 4.1/4.2k)

A large part of that is probably BBL being nerfed (again, lol).

I probably didn't choose the right words in my first post. Depending on what combo routes/starters you use, there can be pretty noticeable changes in damage output, especially if you include supers in your combos. That said, on average, you'll be doing the same combos as before, just for a few hundred damage less than in CS2.

Looks like we have to make a few changes in her combo games if that's the case with BBL being nerfed. Is it a huge nerf in terms of combo extending?

Extended combos aren't really as worthwhile as they used to be. Unless you really, really want the extra 500-700-ish damage from another BBL and extra hits, it's probably better to save your meter.

If you're doing double BBL early in the combo, that's another story, as you won't be getting minimum damage BBL at that point (hopefully).

It's not really a huge nerf, though. More like a mindset adjustment in terms of meter usage.

I'm not sure what you guys mean by extending combos, but even in CS2 it was never worth it to go for double super unless it killed. Same exact deal in EX.

Combos are pretty much identical except for the occasional j.2c > pumpkin oki ender.

^this is basically it in a nutshell.

It's just that in some cases, that double BBL combo won't kill the opponent anymore (lol).

I also know a lot of people really enjoy their 100 meter combos. I'm not a fan of it, but eh. To each their own.

Playing CSX Rachel made me realize that I missed j.2C pumpkin oki. It's very strong in the corner. Mid screen, it's kind of slower than what I want it to be, but still very useful.

After watching the EX Combo Video about Rachel that Sakaku uploaded, the J.2C pumpkin and George XIII oki is going to make pressure and mix-up opportunities more threatening.

Her damage output and combo enders are still pretty great and since I'm sure alot of Rachel players are good at managing meter, she's still a legitimate threat, imo.
