Surely it would be cheaper to buy your own mashing machine, but brand quality Sticks are easier to sell if you're not planning to keep it forever.

Besides, these sticks have good quality and are easy to mod, be it by changing parts or putting your own custom artwork.

If you wish to know more about, this site explains everthing about the matter.

1) Buy One, Bear in mind Quality sticks cost a lot. Yet the Quality of the item is a fair justification

2) Make one. Has its upsides and downsides to buying one

3) Buy a cheap stick and cry at how bad they are

I dont know why people think building a stick is cheaper than buying a factory produced one.

The tools alone needed to build the case is alot in itself. Not to mention you need wood working skills. If you pay someone to make one, a decent one will cost you $90+ for a case only.

But if you want to build one, Art's Hobbies is having a 20% off sale for his Tek-Cases. I have one and its pretty good.

Also this is 119.99 free ship no tax(depends on your state) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874179007

You're going to have to spend a bit of money regardless of what you end up doing, so if you don't have any you're kinda stuck for now. Keep an eye out for sales on Amazon or other online retailers, that's where I got this for like 80 dollars plus shipping once.

edit: If you absolutely cannot buy anything online, sometimes gamestops stock street fighter IV TE sticks. They are actually really good sticks, too.

No online means thats gonna be damn hard. A poster above me suggested gamestop. Just always check in I guess and ask for a "MadCatz Tournament Edition" stick. Don't even bother with the Standard Edition, it's pretty much a piece of crap unless you swap out all the parts.

and even then it's pretty crappy, lol. (Drop it once and the whole thing will break in half)

Do what I did, buy a SFIV SE stick and mod it, those things are about $40-$60 now and it's incredibly easy to change the shitty stock buttons, the joystick, and the art.

The problem is he mentioned he can't buy stuff online, which basically means it's be really hard to come by replacement parts I'd imagine.

If you can drive to a store to buy something, then you can get internet monies. You can get prepaid Visa giftcards almost anywhere now. I mean, Walmart sells them now. Back in my day to get internet monies you had to walk a few miles to get to the bank to get a Visa giftcard. Now you just have to ask you parents to go to Walmart and grab some internet money off the giftcard rack.

my god how did i miss this thread.....

first off, go check if there's anyone local selling a stick near you.

Best bet for this would be on SRK's Trading Outlet which is hidden to non-members and see if anyone local is selling anything decent

Also read this article here,

Will ask this here, since everyone's talking about custom sticks.

What pcb would be best? Chtulu (or w/e it is called) or the fucking hard to find ps360+? first one is 50bucks iirc but it has ps3, ps2, pc, dreamcast and other consoles support, while other is cheaper but its ps3, 360 and pc only :(

you could have looked at the sticky >_>

that's what its there for, i'll answer your question in there

I've been looking at fightsticks from eightarc and they seem really good and even triple compatible, except since they are professional they're like ~$180. I'll be getting on sometime this month, but every time I talk about this company people are like "omg so godly", so that's a good establishment.

-Negates the point you can't buy one online- Just thought I'd throw it out there.

who said you can't just buy one online?

eightarc/qanba have been around for quite a while already

you'd have to order through japan to get the old school HRAPs

Madcatz TE's are hard to come by brand new (at least in canada) and a lot of stores don't stock arcade sticks normally

the fact that you said triple compatible with eightarcs kinda iffs with me since its still only 2 pcbs and both of those ps3 and xbox work for pc already

its like how i was pissed when the vanilla ps360 called itself a tri-mod

either way, 180 is quite cheap for a dual mod

thats like buying a used TE and getting a professional to do the mod for you

customs have a higher and much higher price tag than 180 as well

Visa giftcards are kinda shitty. I got one and stores wouldn't accept it online. You can do some sort of verification thing but the site wouldn't let me do it.
