Welcome to the Rachel combo discussion thread, CSEX edition! Most of her combos are unchanged and she didn't get many new. The combos she was able to do in CS2 do 300~600 damage less in general.

- Two or more combos listed without paragraphs imply variations. It's recommended to use the first listed combo unless stated otherwhise.

- Don't summon air pumpkin after a j.2C ender if you are low on wind.

- If you decide not to do pumpkin oki after j.2C, cancel it into 2A(w) to make the landing safe.

- A combo starting with (frog) means the combo begins either with the activation of George or any hits from Rachel that lead into George activation.

- Any combo leading into j.C > 2D > jc > j.2C [lvl 2] > BBL can also be done with j.C > 2D > jc > j.C > (land) > BBL.

- If you are close to your opponent you can always add 6B between 5B > 5CD.

- Any combo started with 6A can also be started with CH 6A > (additional dash)

- You can use an additional wind stock after BBL > sj.8D > j.2C to make the combo easier. BBL > sj.8D > j.2CD

- You can always extend your combo by adding a second BBL, though it is not recommended unless you are going to kill your opponent.

- CH 6B won't wallbounce if

- Rachel is point blank and has dash momentum,

- the edge of the screen is too far away,

- the opponent is airborne

Common execution problems

j.2C does not connect after sj.B > j.A > j.B > j.C > jc.

- Make sure to delay your j.2C

- If the opponent is very high already after you jump, do j.B > j.C > jc > j.2C

j.C whiffs after any launcher.

- Add a j.B before j.C to launch them higher.

- Due to the flat hitboxes of Hazama, Litchi and Hakumen, it is highly recommended to always use j.B j.C when going into lvl 2 j.2C

Noel techs after 3C > 8D launcher.

- 3C only hits twice on Noel. Make sure to launch and her earlier than you usually do.

And this happens, obviously, because Noel was meant to be hated.

The j.2C never gets registered as level 2.

- Make sure you perform the jc as jc9

- Input [j.C > 2D > jc9] fast and delay the j.2C

- Watch the tutorial videos linked above

BBL doesn't hit properly after 5B > 5CD > 3C.

- BBL hits 6 times, though it only fully hits a handful characters.

- glirandly created a very useful overview regarding 3C > BBL.

(Launcher) > j.C > 2D > jc > j.2C > 2A(w) > 5C(w)C > 214A > (dash) > 3C(1). They always tech before 3C(1) hits.

- Make sure to delay both 5C and (w)C

- Hit them as close as possible to the ground

Great work. Doing a proper combo list for Rachel isn't easy because she's got so much situational stuff, but I think this turned out well.

One question: For 5B, 5CD, 3C(3), 236B, 5A etc., don't you need a short dash on Valkenhayn too or was that CS2 only?

Okay, I was actually bored enough to look through all of this and found some minor mistakes.

Midscreen, 1 wind, using 50 heat, 1st combo: You wrote 214 instead of 214A.

For corner BBL combos with 5CC, 236A, (frog), I'd mention that 236A is delayed.

I'm also missing a note that j.2C should be canceled into 2A (or 4B for overhead on techhappy players) on landing if you don't do pumpkin oki.

Nope, the damage values at this point are almost the same (3823 with j.C; 3813 with j.2C [lvl2]), while you gain 2 more heat using j.2C [lvl2]. I'd rather gain 2 more heat than dealing 10 more damage

Going for sj j.A j.B j.C jc j.2C after a lvl 2 j.2C is a strong alternative to the old 236B followup. It's a few hundred less damage and better oki.

Are you performing a normal or a super jump after 5B? If you perfom a normal jump, go for a super jump instead. Don't know another reason why it wouldn't work.

Will this Rachel combo work in Extend? I watched that her 6B causes wall bounce on counterhit and I'm wondering if I can use Slipheed to create unique combo opportunities.

Really good combo vid. This kind of development could seriously push Rachel up a tier. It significantly improves mid-screen damage, has great corner carry, and lets you get good oki off lv2 j.2c combos.

That wind you spend on doing j.214a 1d 5cc is basically free because you spend quite a bit of time grounded to follow it up. I think there's no legitimate reason not to add this into your combos if you have enough wind.

Also, every single combo in that video was practical and useful. This should hit the front page (SRK's too).

Just estimating but I think it gives anywhere from 500-1000 extra damage than the usual combos with better corner carry. You don't sacrifice anything to incorporate it into your game either.

Her midscreen damage increases significantly when using these combos instead of the 236B j.C jc j.C j.214C route. It should range from 600~1000. That's a lot. There's basically no reason to use the 236B j.C jc j.C j.214C route now as long as you don't want to combo into BBL. I don't know whether we get more damage if we use the new combo route into BBL instead of the old. Some testing should gain us insight.

It doesn't seem to be universal though. I wasn't able to land it on Makoto and Noel, maybe delaying the 1D a bit more will help.

Actually nevermind, it's just harder against Makoto.
