  2. Watch the Purepure match vids that were recently posted in the video thread. Labrys definitely looks a lot more threatening during block strings with the new hop cancels, dash cancels, and improvements to chain knuckle.
  3. Her new bubble move has a dash cancel on activation right? I wonder why I haven't seen anyone use it to approach. Seems like it would be really useful against someone like Yosuke.
  4. Are there any places accepting preorders for the NA LE yet? Gamestop has no info on it and I don't think Amazon is getting the LE.

  7. Agreed. It's the most entertaining mirror in the game when both of the players are good. That doesn't happen too often though.
  8. I would think that most of us would have a Nico account by now so there shouldn't be a need for Nico videos to have their own section.   9. From a distance, going in covered with projectiles is the best approach if you can manage it. If you have a pumpkin or frog out on the field and some good distance (i.e. after midscreen combo ending in 5cc), try: low j.236a (lobelia hits) 5d (pumpkin/frog hits) land 9j.214c (tk sword iris using residual wind) This safely puts you right in their face at frame advantage. However, that 5d needs to throw a pumpkin or frog in their face while you approach to keep them locked down. For no-setup rushdown, I find that going in with j.c is better than j.b since it has a giant hitbox, more blockstun, and is very rewarding on air CH. j.b is better if going for an overhead but people instinctively block high whenever they see wind anyway. 9 3d j.b/j.c is pretty simple and effective but only good at mid range. 7 3d 66 (at the peak of jump) j.b/j.c is good for catching people off guard at longer range. 7 5d 66 throw extends air throw range and is great for catching jumpers. I try to avoid using these, but against some characters like Lambda and Arakune it is absolutely necessary.

  11. I think the important part is that you have to mix in the 2B every once in awhile. N-O does this thing where he goes 5B > delay > 2B. Delay the 2B long enough so that it hits at around the same time an instant j.A would hit. Otherwise, people will just low block after 5B and immediately switch to high block to cover both options.
  12. Interesting way to get a 3 pole setup. But does it do more damage than the usual [5B j.C j.236A] x2 loop? That FC j.2C was scaled really badly and it didn't really extend his combo at all.
  13. This was such a joy to watch. That's how rushdown Rachel should be played. Give everything for knockdown + oki and never let go. So godlike.
  14. Using crush trigger prevents you from gaining meter for the rest of the combo right? I'm pretty sure he prioritizes meter gain for better positioning and wind conservation over the extra damage. Ending a full midscreen combo with TD or a corner combo with BBL usually gives better wind regen and oki than crush trigger combos at basically the same net meter cost. He does use crush trigger if the combo is strong enough to kill though.
  15. Those Rachel mirrors between N-O, Zero, and Rin-Hime were hilarious. Rachel's mixup is too strong against Rachel. Even though you run that stuff against everyone else and know exactly what the other Rachel is trying to do, you still can't really do anything about it but go with your gut. It's like a 7-3 matchup in favor of whoever got the first knockdown.
  16. [05/07/13] Rachel (N-O) Vs Azrael (Dogura) x11 Must watch set imo. Looks like Azrael is one of Rachel's toughest matchups. The projectile immunity on that "growlah" move really limits her neutral game since it enables him to stock up mini Spark Bolts. You can't even use 5b and 2b safely because those normals have projectile properties. What are the properties of that move? Does it have frame invulnerability on startup? Is he completely invincible while projectiles (i.e. George) are hitting him during that stance? N-O seems to use delayed 6b at a distance to bait out that move and avoid using George for oki. I'm trying to wrap my head around why that's necessary. Also, that dashing punch is like a safe Hell's Fang that enables him to very easily close the gap and prevents her from summoning or shooting arcing lobelias safely. Since Rachel was always cornered, this made it extremely difficult to get damaging corner combos and establish oki.

  18. It might be improved, but CP's 6c corner carry combo has plenty of extra hits after the wallstick (5b 6a 236a 6a 4b 3c). IIRC you can't do much after 5cc in CSE other than combo into frog or 236b 5cc. Yeah he always played Rachel. In CT his videos never made it to youtube, but what little I got to see on Niconico gave me the impression that he had the most balanced playstyle. I think he was also the first one to use that ridiculous corner guardbreak loop against v-13. Getting to watch him play all the time on A-cho vids is awesome. Is there still a need to know character-specific combos in CP? It seems like using 5b 6a 236a to pick people up off the ground and instant j.a overhead working on everybody has eliminated them.
  19. I believe hitting with multiple lotuses simply refreshes the duration and takes on the properties of the last one that hit. Lotus, the new air lobelias that knockback on hit, and lobelias bouncing off the wall in the corner make me excited to play zoning Rachel. I'm also glad that she finally has a decent grounded BnB again that doesn't require going into lv2 j.2c all the time now.
  20. The middle part is awesome. The original version fits the character better but having something like this isn't so bad either.
  21. I've seen players using the horizontal version for better corner carry. You can also wallslam the opponent into the corner from a longer distance. I forgot which video it was, but I saw a Rachel player do unusually fast overheads from far away using bats and j.2c9d. That may have just been fatigue setting in though. I don't think Lotus will improve her average damage output in any way.
  22. That is some godlike keepaway. BTW Rachel matches start at 1:34:17 until the end of the video mostly vs Hakumen and some Litchi at the end.
  23. I saw a local news story about the closing of FFA on NBC. I'm sure a lot of us have already moved on but it sure was nice seeing the place get some recognition from the local community.
