I wanted to give a quick shout and let everyone know that a side tournament for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, has been approved by Keits. I'm going to be running this, so here is the low down. PS2 version: Usual tournament rules apply No Ex, Gold, Console Only Characters. 2 out of 3 rounds. Double Elim 10$ entry (However you must be registered for UFGT8 and have a tournament badge to participate). I will have at least a couple setups, but anyone who can provide extra's would be much appreciated. I can't knock anything off the venue fee if you bring one since it is a side tournament, but I will gladly buy you a beer at the bar if you help make this run smoother. I am not certain yet what time the tournament will be run, but right now it would appear early Sunday morning is the most likely time. If that time is going to make it more difficult for people to show up, I need you to pipe up now so I can try to work with Keits to see if we can fit it in a different time slot. If you KNOW you are going to UFGT8 and you would like to enter gear, please pre-reg for me in this thread, it will help me out by getting a preliminary headcount if at all possible. I hope to see a lot of you there.

First and foremost the obvious thing is that if the 360 version is out by UFGT we will be running it on that. Since there's no release date yet this will obviously be up in the air, but assume we will use the updated version if it is available. The next thing to note. Right now the only option for running this is on Sunday, which i know poses problems for everyone including myself as I will almost certainly need to be getting out of town by Noon Sunday. So, I talked to Keits and here are our potential options. 1. Once he has final registration numbers, he may be able to find room for the event on friday or saturday. If this becomes an option it will be the first one I take, however keep in mind this means the schedule is completely up in the air probably until the week leading up to UFGT. 2. I can run the tournament at anytime in the BYOC room, however this has one major caveat, which is that I will not be allowed to call ANYONE to a match who is currently in any Pool at UFGT. Only once a pool is over or that player is completely eliminated can I call them for a match. This means that we will likely have more than few delays in going through the bracket. Now if we can't get a set time to run this friday or saturday night I would still prefer this option over running the tournament on Sunday, which i more than likely will just not be able to do because of my own travel schedule. I'm willing to sit and wait to run matches, but what really counts is knowing if the players themselves are willing to do the same. So, if a time slot opens up friday or saturday we will simply take it and go, no questions asked. However should we be forced to go the BYOC route i would like input on what day you all would prefer: Friday or Saturday. If you are planning on attending and entering, make sure to hit me up and let me know what your preference is. I will do my best to cater to what works best for the players. Klaige Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 Alright people, UFGT8 has a schedule up, so here's the info i promised. The tournament will start at 9pm Saturday night in the BYOC area. This will be late into the semi-finals pools for the main games so hopefully most everyone should be free at this point. I will have 1 full setup myself, but anyone who can provide an extra will be incredibly helpful to making this work. I am going to start taking signups around 7:30 to give everyone ample time to find me and get registered. This has to start at 9, because we will only have 3-4 hours to get everything done. (if we must i'll finish the tourney in my hotel room). Let me go over all the critical info one more time so everything is crystal clear. - Sign ups will start at 7:30, entry fee is $10, you MUST have a UFGT8 badge to participate. - Tournament will begin at 9pm SHARP. PS2, double elim, no gold/shadow/kliff/justice, winner keeps char, loser may switch. (You know this shindig by now). - If ANYONE participating is still in an official pool I am forbidden from calling them to a match. The odds of this should be low by late saturday, but be prepared that you may have to wait on a match if your opponent is still in an official game. - If you aren't in an official pool, have your ass ready to play. Once I call a match i'm going to give you 3 minutes to check with me and be ready. I will drop DQ's on people, not because I wan't to be a hardass, but because we will be under a strong time constraint. If you are entering this thing, please stay close and be ready to play your matches. That should cover the critical info. I hope to see a lot of you there. PM me with any questions you have, and again if you can provide a setup you have my infinite gratitiude and i'll owe you a drink at the bar. Thanks guys.
