Tournament fee is $5 tonight because it is a free tournament night. Tournament games are: Persona 4: ArenaInjustice: Gods Among UsKing of Fighters XIIISuper Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Venue fee is Top 3 in each game get's a prize from the lounge, so come on out. Also, there will be other games there as well, I will be bringing a GG setup and grinding that game as well. I've signed up for it at EVO and I wanna be ready!

Congratulations to Chosen Ninja for taking first place in P4A, and Grant for 3rd! I took second this time. Also Congratulations to BlackSNAKE for placing first in GG, along with Oliver for 2nd and Nives for 3rd. The GG tournament was pretty hype and I can't wait for the next one. I know some of us don't use this thread often to discuss meet ups so, to make thing run smoother, I did this. If you have a twitter account or have made one, let me know here and I'll add it to the player base. Also, if you're not in the player base, drop your info in the proper format and I'll add you to it.

It might seem obvious, but sometimes words stated in a different way will finally make sense. My revelation: Here's how character by character matchups should be broken down: 1) What are my tools to approach my opponent at different distances and how can my opponent counter them? How can I alter my approach to avoid that counter? 2) Once I have the enemy on the defensive, what are my tools to continue damage and pressure? How can my opponent counter them? 3) What tools does my opponent have to approach me and how can I counter them? 4) What are my tools to get out of an enemy's pressure and how can he counter them? FGs don't break down into a flowchart perfectly, but putting these answers down into an itemized list either in your head or on paper seems instructive and would help your playing tendencies.

I've been lurking on DL and intermittently playing fighters online. Since I'm finally back in Illinois, I figured I would stop in at live meetups, and try to actually get some real experience with fighters. The local scene at my college is extremely laid back, and I just don't feel like I'm going anywhere. So yeah, I'm hoping to show up a few times at Ignite and Piazzo during July and August before I go back to school. I'm pretty scrub, so I'm hoping to learn something from the experience. I'll admit to having something of a temper, so I'll do my best to keep cool. I won't be able to go to the Piazzo Saturdays until August, but I can go to Ignite pretty much any Monday until I leave. Is there going to be a meeting there this Monday? I might be bringing a friend as well, though that might depend if people play anything besides fighters at these events, since he doesn't like long playsessions for a single game or genre. I've been trying to sit down and learn, but it's hard finding people on XBL to play. I either get booted from I lobby, or if I go into ranked I get ravaged by superior players. Game Pazzo casuals are on Friday, not Saturday. There's usually a monthly tournament sometime on Saturday. People mostly are playing FGs, but I've seen some monster hunter and bomber man. There's always a good crowd of LoL people there.

That actually makes attending much, much easier. Sadly, as to my friend, he thinks LoL is the devil's game, and isn't a fan of Monster Hunter either. I'll still try and persuade him to come, but it seems pretty unlikely. EDIT: I enjoyed my first visit to Ignite. It was a pretty slow night evidently, but I'm grateful for the matches I got to play. Sadly, my friend probably won't be returning, for various reasons. I'll see if he'll give Piazzo a try on Friday. Edited July 16, 2013 by RifleAvenger

Hope to run tons more sets with you guys in the future.
