Let's see . . . I'm out of touch with many of these folks after being on hiatus for 2 years. Most of them don't post hear anymore, although I've been trying to draw back their interest.

People who played BB back in the day (I'll list town/state and characters if I remember them, with characters for other games after BB characters):

Mindgam3 aka Jeremy (Southbury CT): Played Litchi might have switched to Amane in CP. I think he played Merkava in UNIEL. Played Slayer in GG; swapped to Elphelt in Xrd.

LordPangTong aka Paul (CT): I think he used Platinum in CP. Laments Melty Bloods situation.

INeedGlitch2Win aka Steve (West Haven CT): Played Ragna I think? Doesn't play fighting games competitively anymore.

Fraga aka Nick: I think he used to play nu or mu, then swapped characters? Plays Axl in GG. Doesn't play competitively.

Why-Disciple (Wolcott CT): I forget who he plays in BB, but he also plays Tekken (Kunimitsu and ?) and a bit of GG (Faust).

Kona (Springfield MA): Platinum I think?

Furok aka Jonathan (Ludlow MA): I forget who he played in BB (Maybe Arakune), but he does plays Merkava in UNIEL. Used to play Robo-Ky in GG; I think he swapped to Zato-1

Players who might have played BB from Western Mass/ CT (Memory's fuzzy here):

Dreiko (CT, recently moved back from Cali):

Mystic Eyes aka Kyle (CT): I think he played Hazama in BB? I know he played Seth in UNIEL.

SSMugen (CT):

Crown Empress aka Virgil (CT): I think he played Ragna in BB? Plays Protagonist in P4A. Mostly sticks to the shotos.

Rainbow Mash (CT): Can't remember if she played/plays BB . Plays Ky in GG. Used to be big on Melty Blood.

Katz (MA, recently moved back from Detroit): I think he played some BB, but I don't remember which characters. Played Zappa in GG; in Xrd he plays Venom/Faust.

Players from other regions who played BB back in the day

Danny Schme (Rhode Island): I forget who he plays in BB. Fought his Bedman online once in GG Xrd.

Nuclear Cheese aka Steve (Nashua NH): Plays Ragna, then I think he swapped to Platinum. In GG he uses Sol.

CapsuleToyco (Formerly NH, moved to WA): Plays Ragna in BB.

Other NE scene players (in case you're curious):

DrOnBlast aka Meghan(CT): Used to play Dizzy in GG.

Stryfe (CT): Played I-no in GG recently swapped to Ramlethal. Also plays SFIV (Crimson Viper and Ibuki I think).

Otakuchin (CT?): Used to the Act series tournaments in CT; moved to NY. Played Sol.

Zoob (Springfield MA): Played Potemkin in GG, but doesn't like Xrd. Mains Tekken.

Pancho (Springfield MA): I think he Played Faust in GG. Played Honda in Vanilla SFIV.

Gonzales (Springfield MA): Played Dizzy in GG. Really into Tournament Fighter (that ninja turtle ST style fighting game).

Cytek (Holyoke MA): Plays I-no in GG. Plays Yoshimitsu in Tekken.

Tales aka Aticus (Hadley MA): Played Anji in GG; swapped to Sin in Xrd.

blueNINE aka Alex (Amherst MA): Plays May in GG. Also plays SFIV (played Abel and Juri in SSFIV).

Dave Chen (Boston MA): Played Johnny and Potemkin in GG; swapped to Potemkin/Sol/Chipp in Xrd.

Super J (Boston MA): Plays Slayer in GG. Also plays SFIV.

NoiseTank (Boston MA): Plays a little Arakune in BB, but not competitively. Plays Ky in GG.

Gavin (RI): Plays Eddie in GG. Used to run the tournaments at Tokyo Game Action (The arcade that, about half a decade ago, was the NE fighting and Rhthym game hub; it was forced to shut down when the pipes burst in winter while the owners were in Japan looking into BBCT and TvC cabinets among other things).

Genstove aka Erich (formerly VT): Played Faust in GG, moved to Idaho about a year ago.

Light_Nazgul (Lebanon NH): Played Testament in GG, not sure who he's using in Xrd. Heavily constrained by a new job two years ago via insane hours + lots of traveling.

. . . and, that's all I can remember atm. Probably missing quite a few folks. Let me know if you'd like a hand getting in touch with any of them.

Hello Lelouch! As Vyers has already introduced me, I feel it is most important to say that I do not play Amane or Merkava. However, it is equally important to note that I typically play most flavors of air-dashers, and typically end up traveling to venues that host them. As of now, Xrd seems to have the most active community, with support for UNIEL and BB sporadic at best. The only venues I'm currently aware of that have hosted these games in recent memory are as follows:

Game Underground (1251 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA) - Friday Nights (Weekly) and Saturday (Monthly), USFIV, UMvC3, and anything else.

-The seemingly most consistent gathering of people who play fighting games. While Capcom fighters are the mainstay, you can set up a meetup for GG, BB, and UNIEL and expect to get a few people. They also host special events.

The Grid (52 Purnell Place, Manchester, CT) - Wednesday Nights (Weekly), USFIV and Xrd

-Relatively small group, and the attendance varies due to it being a weeknight.

Hall of Gaming (220 North Colony Road, Wallingford, CT) - Saturday Nights (Monthly), USFIV, UMVC3, and Xrd

-A very new thing, as there have only been two events so far. Here is a link to the next event.(https://www.facebook.com/events/810657129001268/?ref_dashboard_filter=calendar)

That's it as far as I know. You can definitely ask Synyster about GU, since I played BB and UNIEL with him at one of the monthly tournaments held on a Saturday. Also, as mentioned before, there is a tournament series called "Resistance" based in Stratford that also hosts air-dashers, but they have no set schedule, so the dates are random.

Thanks for all that info Vyers and Mindgam3. I'll look into some of those people and places.

Slight correction regarding BB - played Nu initially, only scrubbed Ragna when there weren't any characters I liked.  I play Platinum now, and trying to learn Izayoi if I ever decide to pull up training mode.

... did anyone post anything about this on here previously?  This certainly sounds like something I'd be interested in attending, if only for Xrd.

When I said it was a new thing, I meant ::very:: new. The first event was at the beginning of January, and was originally intended to be a USFIV and UMvC3 meetup. However, I showed up simply because myself and one other person (BSchloss) needed a place to meet up to play Xrd that was near his house. It wasn't until the second event that was held a few weeks ago where most people who showed up, showed up to play Xrd.

In any case, if the turnout is similar to last time (8~ish people including myself), you will have plenty of people to play against. We ran a free tournament last time, so I see no reason why we couldn't do that again! I'd also like to note that the people who showed up also play BB and UNIEL, so given the interest I'm sure we can run a tournament for those games as well!

That'd be awesome. I just don't care much for GG, and I have no interest whatsoever in UMvC or USFIV. I'd be all in for BB or UNIEL though.

i can attest to this. i was at the last weekend one and there was i think 10 people playing xrd there. it was really fun. even though i lost alot and i just got the game that tuesday lol.

The only time I play GG is when my friend is. I probably won't buy the game. Ramlethal and Chipp are fun, but other than that I don't find the characters in GG very interesting. I like to play half the cast in BB and everyone in UNIEL looks fun.

I finally am settled in a house so I should be able to join up now. I'm in Ansonia.

I play everything airdasher (even arcana heart and dengeki bunkou) so while bb and gg are my main focus atm I'm up for everything. Also I'm up for smaller gatherings like those of a few years ago in Fraga's place etc.

Jeremy said he's going to a gathering this Saturday on twitter so hopefully I can get a ride to that so we shall get to play. Uniel came out to the americas today so maybe it'll have some life to it too. (though I'm sure most of us just imported it)

I won't be able to make it to that event at Wallingford this Weekend, because I'll be in Boston getting ready for the GU Video Game and Music Festival that Sunday. I will be visiting Glitch and Seth in CT the following weekend however.

I haven't picked up UNIEL yet, so I plan on grabbing the US version once I have the money.

Ahh, maybe I can tag along for the thing next weekend then, I'll see how it goes. And if you have ps+ you can get uniel for 23 bucks.

Are you going to the Hall of Gaming event? If so we should meet up there.

Is the hall of gaming not the event in Wallingford? I was under the impression they're one and the same.

I might make an appearance. This trip is more about catching up with Glitch and Seth (and perhaps other old friends I haven't seen in awhile) than going out to play tournaments. If it's something they want to do I'll go. If not not I'll sit this one out.

It sounds like Mindgam3 is going and Nuclear Cheese is thinking about going. Mindgam3 also said that there are additional attendees whom  play Blazblue and UNIEL.

The Hall of Gaming event is in Wallingford (On Saturday March 7th from 5-11pm), so I believe they're one and the same unless there's like two events going on in Wallingford.

Address: 220 N Colony St Suite B, Wallingford, Connecticut 06492

You know, I was coming on here to remind everyone about Hall of Gaming tomorrow next week, but Vyers already did that. Thanks Vyers! Anyway, I will be attending Hall of Gaming in Wallingford tomorrow March 7th. Will play Xrd, UNIEL, and BBCP willingly.

Also for completion's sake and so no one is without games this weekend, there's also the "GU Video Game and Music Festival 2" happening this Sunday in Boston (https://www.facebook.com/events/1547268818892988). You must register online in the next ~40 minutes if you wish to enter any of their tournaments! The link to register is on the FB event page linked above.

I will not be attending this as there are no events that interest me. One of my friends is a really good Smash 4 player and is entering that tournament. Unfortunately GU doesn't ever seem to have any events that I'd actually care to participate in. It's a real shame because they're so close to me.

@Mindgam3: Who do you play in UNIEL?

Ahhhh! That's what it was. I thought they had like informal casuals only today or something. Dang it XD. Well at least we clarified it before I ended up going there and finding emptiness. Well, see you there next week hopefully! XD

(also, was wondering, on their facebook page they say they need Xrd but have ps3s but then they say to bring a ps3 with Xrd on the HDD, are they not in need of Xrd copies to put in the ps3s they have or something? like, there's a logical hole in that. Either way I'll likely bring my ps3 and physical versions of bb xrd dfc uniel and ah3lm lol)

I'll be bringing a UNIEL setup.

That's good, the more setups the more varied games we can play so that frees up my setup to run something else. I plan on playing all 5 of the games I listed if I find anyone willing. The more stuff we expose people to the better.

Oh and my system has +R and Vampire Savior in it too so that's actually 7 games.

now i really want to go. damn college work lol. distance is probably a big thing for me to. i personally feel like 2 hours is a bittttttt much for me being somewhat broke and no job right now.

+R is the only game I can use my main in so until HOS is in Xrd Xtend or whatever they call it I'm playing that lol.

Wallingford is a much easier drive from my home in western MA thankfully. My spring break starts the day before the event. Either way Synyster you should scrounge some money and go. It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun and there will be up to 3 UNIEL setups between people here and on FB.
