TL;DR GG / BB Tournament Season in NC [Edited for new info]

In September, I'll be starting a season for Guilty Gear and Blazblue. The tournaments will be held once every months for a total of nine times before the new 3-day major that'll happen June 2013. All stats will be tracked for the season, and used for seeding throughout. To celebrate the season opener, I'm throwing an extra hundred into the pot. It is a long-ass drive for out of state players to come, but I'm hoping at least NC will show up strong. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that the XBLA GG will release before then. The GG pot bonus will be moved to the next month due to the XBLA / PSN release getting pushed back. There will still be a tournament for this on PS2 for rankings if we can get setups for it. There will be a pot bonus on GG if the required amount of people show up.

I'll try and keep the thread updated as the final details surface.

Original announcement copypasta below.

It brings me great pleasure to announce the start of two new FG tournament seasons at Elite Zone in Fayetteville. KDP will be holding monthly/semi-monthly tournaments for various fighting games starting in September, leading up into next June.

A-Spec will be the primary tournament, being held nine times (once a month) before culminating in the Grand Prix to be held next June. The following games are scheduled as part of this series:

SSF4: AE 2012

UMvC3

Persona 4 Arena

Tekken Tag Tournament 2

B-Spec will be the secondary tournament, modeled after NorCal Install. It will be held 9 times as well, usually on the same days as A-Spec events, and also leading up to the same Grand Prix next June. Games that are slotted for the B-Spec Series are:

BB:CS Extend

GG:XX Accent Core Plus

Melty Blood: Actress Again Current Code

KoF XIII

In addition, there will be a 5th slot each tournament dedicated to games not on the main rosters. For September, this will be skipped due to both season openers being on the same day.

Thanks to KDS and their newest software product, the SEED System, stats will be tracked throughout the season to determine seeding at events / various awards at the end of the season. As more info about it is announced, we'll keep this updated.

As for the September tourneys, there will be a prize bonus to celebrate the season opening. All A-Spec games will have a $200 bonus in their prize pools. B-Spec will have $100 for each game. A tourney must have at least 8 players to receive the pot boost.

Fees for this tournament:

$10 Venue

$5 Casuals

$10 per A-Spec Entry

$5 per B-Spec Entry

Registration will start at 10 A.M. so that all accounts in the SEED system can be created for stat tracking. You'll only need to do this once, so please be as early as possible to make sure you get registered before the tournament. The cutoff time will be at 2 P.M.

The primary stream will be at twitch.tv/namedakamada for A-Spec. We're making arrangements for there to be a separate B-Spec stream, which will be announced when ready.

Sister groups TH and [bfp] will also be in attendance, and will be hosting events as part of the GP Season. Stay tuned to their respective pages to keep updated on what's happening in your area.

Just an update:

Due to another TO scheduling on top of A-spec's season opener, we're consolidating the season openers to B-spec's date. To counter, it'll probably end up being a joint effort between my team and the other two groups holding events for the opening tourney.

The (slightly late) 24 hours out update:

As we get ready for the inaugural event for the Grand Prix season, there's a couple things I'd like to let everyone know.

* The dollar tournament for the event is DOA5. It'll be cross platform, so if you have a copy, bring it out to speed it up.

* If you are running a little bit late, call us. My cell is 609-829-8015. If we're not busy processing new users for SEED, we can sign you up over the phone. If we are, we'll take your name down and will double check for you before we start the tournament. Note that this does not negate the need to arrive before your tournament starts. All published times are hard times, and will be followed.

Important for those traveling to our events, this was posted in the FB event thread. Be sure to call ahead, PLEASE if you will run late at all. I'd hate to turn away people coming at 2pm just because they didn't call.
