About unlocking extras in Accent Core

Hello there, my name is Arvoyea (yes, that's my real name.). I just got Accent Core a couple of weeks ago(my first GG game, always wanted one), and I'm wondering, how are things unlocked in the game? I somehow had EX versions of Millia, Chipp, Potemkin, and I forgot the others, (I was only playing V.S. with my brother and sister) before but the file got corrupted because my retard brother saved his game of San Andreas with cheats on, so I had to delete and start again. I played through Arcade as Sol Badguy on my new save file and nothing happened. Does anyone have the details on how new features are obtained? It would be nice if someone did. Thanks!

what you were doing before seems to be the time released unlockables (near the bottom of hte page).

I don't want to start a new thread for this dumb question, so I'll post it here since it's semi-related... Do I really need to use the L1 and L2 buttons in AC? Reason I'm asking is because I'm making a custom stick and not sure if I should bother with those two buttons. I know you can use them to select the music tracks but R1 can do that too. I dont have any gold characters though so I wasn't sure if it was like XX where you use the top buttons for special characters, or if you just use "Start" for everything.

(use the general questions sticky, or the Joystick sticky, in the Guilty Room, next time) i think you should have them, you'll probably wanna use them for "record" & "playback" in training mode. (if possible, i even like to have an L3 and R3 for "walk" & "jump", but that's not really necessary.)
