For my car, we haven't really talked about it, but for monthlies we usually went in the morning and drove back late, so I'm assuming that's what we're doing again. I've got both the Friday and Sunday off though if there was some other option, but I'm pretty sure that every Montrealer's couch is loaned out to someone at the moment. Not sure what car 2 was thinking.

I figured I'd ask in case anybody wants to like co-ordinate on something, doesn't really know the way to Foonzo from the Greyhound station (which I admittedly used a good old car GPS for to guide me from the station and back to it again last year) or whatever to try and line stuff up. That, and also just curious what timeframe the people driving were expecting to get to Montreal/Foonzo/whatever on Saturday.

Yurisan Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 So we're thinking about hosting tournaments and I thought of reviving an event that was run in Waterloo. The idea is we pick a few games, and run double elimination brackets for them regularly. I was thinking 5 games might be good, run maybe once per month? It's a really useful event to promote competition, and give people more match-up and tournament experience. I could provide a stream for this, if we decide to run it and we have a suitable venue. The idea is this: We choose 5 games to run, and for each run a double elimination bracket. Each player can enter as many times into each tournament as they want, but the tournament is character locked and you must pick a different character for each of your entries. The idea is to get people to play alts and give people a wide variety of match-ups instead of just grinding the same thing over and over again. Hopefully people can come up with creative entry names rather than Character#1, Character#2, etc. Your characters will be be seeded away from other characters and if, for example, two of your characters meet eventually, you are allowed to arbitrarily decide which one goes on. People can enter as many times as they want, but they should try to restrict the number a little bit so we don't have to do pools or anything. Depending on how many unique people we have entering, a 32-man bracket is usually feasible. The last time we ran this, we picked the games by having everyone just PM me their entrants/names/characters, and the top 5 most entered games are the ones that we run. I would then put together a bracket which was somewhat ambiguous because no one knew who anyone was. What do you guys think? I've participated in like 9ish of these events, and they are usually pretty successful. As an example, I will list the games I would enter + number of entries. If a game is added later that they didn't think of, they can change their entry. Don't feel like you would need to enter every game either, just leave the ones you aren't interested in. MB - 6 entrants BB - 5 entrants GG - 3 entrants Aqua Pizza - 3 entrants FUC - 2 entrants P4U - 2 entrants AH3(LM?????) - 2 entrants HnK - 2 entrants CvS2 - 1 entrant VSav - 1 entrant Dark Awake - 1 entrant Those are my tentative entrants, unless some one brings up a game I'm forgetting. So as for a tentative date, if we wanted to get it going sooner rather than later, maybe the weekend of July 5th? If we want to wait longer we could do it near the end of July as well. Anyway, I shouldn't get ahead of myself, let me know if you guys are interested.
