Well, a bunch of the MGSV stuff was because Konami was being Konami. And you know, Konami's notorious for being a giant piece of shit.
-
Well, there's not necessarily a situation where we NEED all of the VAs to officially come out as endorsing it or signing it. However, it's a situation where each of them may or may not have different groups of fans following them on Twitter/etc of their own and that the more VAs show support of it, the more people hear about it, and the more demand for it it shows there to be. It may not wind up technically HELPING things, but I can guarantee it doesn't HURT the chances of a future dub.
-
People probably know this already, but apparently Cindy Robinson (Makoto) and Mela Lee (Rachel) have started supporting it and spreading it around too.
-
Yeah, but wasn't CSX's dub stuff done in a way that they had some different VAs doing some of the lines? Like, I remember another VA that wasn't Cristina Vee did some of the newer Noel/Mu/Nu lines for that.
-
Just saw this. Gah, another week and there could've been like a KOFXIV launch tourney. Though, not that I'd have likely been able to go since I pretty much always work weekends (because of course I do), and I actually won't be able to make this because of a family event. Hope it goes well, though.
-
Yeah, it would kind of be bad having to wait, but it'd be better than nothing. And strangely, with Persona 5, the only thing I've been trying to find out about are if we know any of the English VAs/potential English VAs for that yet.
-
I'd be a little pissed that I had to pay extra for something in Blazblue that had always been there from the start. However, if I knew it was like...supporting the VAs in the game, then I'd get it because I like their work and all that.
-
It's sad to say, but sometimes people don't see things that way. I'm not saying it's with everyone, but there are a lot of people who seem to not understand that in situations like this you can't really allow a precedent to be set or else it'll turn into something where the people behind it think it's perfectly fine and okay to get away with. Does me saying this sound a bit dramatic? Sure. But this is the sort of thing where "You were fine with Revelator not getting a dub? Congratulations, now NONE of the upcoming Aksys/ASW(whichever one is responsible) fighters that come out in the future will have English Dubs again. As in, ever." isn't an unrealistic possibility or fear to have as a result of one instance of people being passive and "okay" with something.
-
Just throwing it out there, but people saying "I hope they wouldn't think of releasing it at $60 without a dub"...well...The PS3 version of Revelator goes for $64.99, and the PS4 version goes for $74.99, so...
-
I feel like I probably shouldn't be so irritated and upset about the possibility, but I am. I mean, as I've mentioned before, the Revelator thing has made me hesitant to buy it, and people applauding the decision/being perfectly fine with it was something I felt started a dangerous precedent. I know potentially being all "no dub, no dollars" when it comes to myself might seem a bit petty but like...I'm sort of a very principle-based thinker, so if something just feels wrong based on principle, I'll usually be pretty against it, regardless of what it is.
-
Yeah, I disliked them removing all aspects of the English Dub in Revelator too, so I was certainly not one of the people praising them for that, lol.
-
I care about the story yeah, but in any case when I'm doing matches and the English Voices are available, I'll pretty much ALWAYS go for the option when available. Also, as odd as it might sound, sometimes audio cues on things actually help me out a bit with the English Voices, so it being just Japanese would also have that little bit of getting me to need to get used to things all over. Plus, I don't know, I just get into a rhythm and whenever I'm on a setup with Japanese voices it throws me off for a game or two. Yeah, I know I'm the minority and weird on this, but still.
-
The dub is pretty much what I know and have always known when it comes to Blazblue. And now with Cristina Vee and David Vincent saying they haven't heard anything either, I'm starting to get all "what the fuck?". Not like it'd wind up helping if they really are deciding to go this direction but...does Aksys or Arcsys, or whoever would be behind this have a Twitter or something we could message or whatever?
-
Ah, alright. I was just wondering because I've been trying to find people to room with for it. I MIGHT have gotten something worked out with someone on SRK, but not 100% sure.
-
So, not sure if anybody's going to see this (or if the answer'll be 'yes' to anyone that does), but is anybody else going to EVO this year?
-
I kind of liked English I-No/Millia, and English Faust for what it's worth. But yeah, Elphelt was good too.
-
Well alright then. Though a number of English VAs in Xrd were ones I enjoyed, I'm not super into the Guilty Gear series and with Xrd never really "feeling" right, it doesn't overly affect me.
-
That sounds really out of left field, so that can't be right. I mean...no Cristina Vee Noel? That...that's just unfathomable, that wouldn't be right at ALL.
-
It is when you live in Canada, lol. And while it does kind of suck hearing the Import versions of Revelator and possibly BBCF, that doesn't overly bug me all THAT much since I was most likely going to wait until the North American versions of each come out (since I like beading able to actually read the text without having to look up what's what), so it won't really impact me other than when I play on someone else's copy who's using an Import one.
-
Axe or not, Potemkin still forever low tier in Xrd, lol.
-
I always just figured people lurked the thread to see if anybody was posting anything, but just didn't want to get stuff started or something.
-
Well, I remember hearing SFV can use PS3 sticks, so maybe Revelator's going to be able to use PS3 sticks as well or something. Either way, pretty much trying to work a way going since well, I'd rather not miss out on it for a 4th year in a row, lol.
-
Don't mean to double post, but I figure since it's been a week it's fine, but has anybody been thinking ahead to EVO yet? pochp's post in the Montreal thread got me thinking I should probably get on that ASAP, so was wondering if anybody had thought that far in advance.
-
You know what, hell, I think broke still or not, I'll come out tomorrow night to prove I'm not dead, lol. And to answer the new question of "just how anime is Pokken?".
-
Damn, I should've gone with there being that many people there. Though, I'm still tight for gas money than I'd like right now, so yeah. Someday I'll be getting back in the swing of things, lol.
