BlankHearts Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) I tried making my own arcade stick art and tried to get it lami-labeled at Fed EX but apparently its a big no no to use google images since its copyrighted material. I really should have seen this coming, really. I tried searching google for information but surprisingly I didn't find what I was looking for, just threads of peoples arcade stick art. Also what I don't understand is, when I see other people's arcade stick art, I recognize some of the art and it seems like copyrighted material but somehow they got it lami-labled. So question is, what can or can't I do and how do I go about it? Edited March 24, 2013 by BlankHearts

Circuitous Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Using art pulled from Google images or other artists is a gray area when you're not profiting from it. If you were, for example, commissioned to make stick art for someone, and used art you had no legal right to use, that would be wrong. Just using it for your own stick art isn't usually a problem, though you should still seek permission from the artist as a courtesy.
ozzy830 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 What exactly did you have on it? This is my art that I made. It had no issues with printing at all.
pharosngm Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 It shouldn't be too bad as long as you don't do anything disrespectful like try and edit out the signature on the art or something like that. I'm not sure what to do for official art which is part of the reason why I have left my stick vanilla so far. You could also make a commission request on an art forum like pixiv or deviantart and just pay the artist if you're still worried. The FedEX or UPS rejecting a print really depends on the depot as I know people who have wrap around decals of full official art on their arcade sticks =/
