Special Conditions:

This is a brand-new SURVIVAL tournament! Please read the rules carefully. This is part tournament, part reality TV show, 100% wholesome netplay fun!

Round 1 – 8v8 2/3 Team Matches

- 2 Team Captains are chosen in PSN chat. Voting will take place by sending private messages to Xntrikcat. Whoever gets the most votes will be a team captain for the round. (You may not vote for yourself)

- After Rock Paper Scissors via PM, each Team Captain will take turns to choose players to join his/her team.

- Each Team Captain will send a private message to Xntrikcat the order of players. The order will be repeated in the Survival Tourney Chatroom.

- 8v8 takes place. Xntrikcat will provide commentary! Every fight will be streamed.

- Team that has lost the first match may elect to change the order of players. The winning team may not change the lineup.

- Once a team takes 2 matches, the winning team moves on, and the losing team is eliminated.

Round 2 – 4v4 2/3 Team Matches

- Team Captain from Round 1 remains. Second Team Captain is chosen by voting again.

- Players are chosen, lineups are private messaged.

- 4v4 takes place.

- Winning team moves on, lost team is eliminated.

Semifinal – 2v2 2/3 Team Matches

- Team Captain from Round 2 remains. Second Team Captain is chosen by voting again.

- Players are chosen, lineups are private messaged.

- 2v2 takes place.

- Winning Team moves on to Final. Members of the Losing Team must fight each other for 3rd place.

Final – 1v1 3/5 Matches

- Winning Team from Semifinal must fight each other 1v1 for the grand prize.

- Losing Team from Semifinal must fight each other 1v1 for the 3rd place prize.

General Information:

-Please try and get on earlier so I know who is ready and so you can warm-up.

-Player Limit: 16

-Singles/Teams (read special conditions)

-Match Format: 2/3 Team matches, 3/5 Final/ 3rd Place Match

-Round Format: 2 out of 3 rounds

How This Works :

1. Team Match format

Team 1 (Players A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) vs. Team 2 (I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P)

A vs I -> A wins, I loses. (1 game)

A vs J -> A loses, J wins.

B vs J

…so on, until a team runs out of players.

- Your team needs to win a total of 2 matches to gain a TEAM VICTORY.

2. Final Round/ 3rd Place Match

- Very straight forward 3/5 matches.

*** If at any point a team has less members than the other (due to dropping out, or starting out with less than 16 participants) its team captain MUST ELECT AND GIVE EXTRA LIFE(s) to player(s) other than himself to fit the match format.

EX) If we have 14 participants, The first round will still be a 8v8, or technically 7(+1) vs 7(+1). The second round will be 4 vs 3(+1), the third round will be 2 vs 1(+1) so on.

Obviously this could get confusing. I would really prefer to have 16 participants. If it comes down to it, I will find last minute replacements to avoid confusion.

3. PRIZES

1st place: $40

2nd place: $15

3rd place: $5

Longest Winning streak (must be longer than 2): $10

Astral Finish: $5 (Multiple winners possible)

Disconnect/Connection Problem Rules:

-Disconnecting forfeits that Round, start up another match and get the rounds to go back to how they were originally and then the "Disconnector" must let the other person win whatever round was at the point when it disconnected.

Ex. Player A won Round 1, Player B disconnects during Round 2. Start a new match, let Player A win Round 1 because he won it previously, and then let him win Round 2 because Player B disconnected. Match continues at 2-0.

-If the person doesn't sign back on within 5 minutes they forfeit that match. If it wasn't during the Loser's Bracket then they can still continue with their Loser Bracket match if they sign back on in time.

-If two players can't connect to each other, I will try to find someone to host for you, or me and Xntrikcat can host for you.

-If you begin to show constant lag through out tournaments, depending on how many report you then you will NOT be allowed to continue participating in these tournaments regardless of your location (if you do manage to upgrade your internet, test it with me and I'll let you know on my decision)

-**DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT LAG** - however you can report connection issues (see above)

Communication:

-Please NO mics (we are trying to avoid lag here)

-Xntrikcat will be making a Text Chat Room for the tournament.

-Please do not talk a lot on the PSN chat, and only discuss things like hosting and giving me results.

-Feel free to leave the PSN chat once you and your opponent are matched up, but make sure you come back afterward.

Match Recording:

-If you can record your matches, feel free, and then post the links in this thread.

-If you want to volunteer to record other matches, let me know.

-You can volunteer to record matches and not participate in the tournament, if you are interested let me or Xntrikcat know.

Tips on Avoiding Lag:

-Use a wired connection if available.

-Do not skip the intro.

-Do not use a mic.

-Leave the Text Chat BEFORE starting your match, leaving the Text Chat during the match (Character Select, Vs. Screen or during the intro) will mess up the synchronization and cause lag.

-Do not stream videos during the match (YouTube, Twitch.tv, etc.)

-Do not send messages (or go to the XMB) during the match (Character Select, Vs. Screen or during the intro) this will also mess up the synchronization.

*if anyone has any more tips to add, please let me know*

did I read that right? 8v8, 2/3, every match is streamed? Isn't that going to take like..............

Posted

Forever! That's right. I have a plan to keep things moving though. I'll be keeping track of matches, and I'll be in the same room w/ the streamer and will be inviting next player in. This cuts down waiting/inviting time that we've had to deal with. If people are really concerned about time, I can make the first round a single-match.

I guess I don't need to say it then.

That post speaks for itself.

I'll test stream Open Broadcast Software instead of xsplit (Even though I got the money to upgrade.) later like 8pm Eastern Time.

Need Feedback.

Astral Finish: $5 (Multiple winners possible)

So can anyone win this multiple times? Or is it a one time deal?

You should do $5 for a comboed Astral and $10 for a raw/reversal Astral.

Sounds fun in theory, but Hakumen says this is silly.

Hakumen should get $10 just for using his Astral.
