SolxBaiken Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I don't think it's Crow per say, but he might be a contributor to it. I beleive that Justice will rise again as a "D model" with the imprisoned Dizzy as it's core. I want to make a thread about all my X3 expecations...but I fear I'll be flamed for it... *sigh*
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 The only hope I have that I absolutely NEED to happen is Faust out-of-the-blue having some key role in the story. I mean, he now has a reason to investigate the PWAB, Them having to be the ones who sabotaged his surgery, so eventually his part in the story will eventually intertwine with everyone else's, so far he has had influence only on Dizzy, Zappa, Axl, and I guess May, maybe Venom. Also, just because I like to put my ideas down on paper/computer text. About the prison that both Baldhead and Zato escaped from, which curses those who escape with certain death. Obviously Zato has been an example of this. But Baldhead/Faust. I think they are saying that Baldhead died in spirit and was replaced by Faust. Yeah?
SolxBaiken Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Interesting theory, I have always though about why Faust and Baldhead were seperate...maybe as he went from insane back to sane (?) he had repressed memories or even his entire persona as Baldhead...I wish we had more info on this prison, it sounds like an interesting place
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Just an inter-dimensional prison from what I can see, I think there is more on it in Echang's plot FAQ. And Faust is, though it seems otherwise, much more sane now than he was as Baldhead.
Dizzy Kiske Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 I guess we all can't wait for a Guilty Gear 3. It needs to come out NOW!
EasyModeNub Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 it's true. King Ky said so in Guilty Gear 2: Overture. the maiden of the grove has been proven to be Dizzy since Ky's and Dizzy's first endings in Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus proves their relationship Actually, there are so many things wrong with this and Overture that it's crazy. Ky can't have had sex with Dizzy and produced a child in Overture considering it's canon that he died during the Holy Wars. Now I know you're saying "But Ky is in AC!", but AC is noncanon, along with the entire X series; which is based on the theory of "what if" I-no saved Ky from dying. (Remember, I-no's a time traveler) This is pretty sad since it's the only thing that could be called a GG storyline. So in essence the X series works the same way the multiverse does for Marvel, lots of cool things happen but only the event in one particular universe are canon. This leads to some problems in Overture. Overture was suppossed to be the canonical sequel to the original Guilty Gear... but Ky died in the Holy Wars so what the fuck is he doing in Overture? That can only mean that Overture, like the X series, is noncanon... so everything in it is noncanon as well. It really sucks since the X series has a better story than any other fighting game, but I'll trade it all to keep Ky away from Dizzy's vagina. /end rant
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Hasn't it already been said that the X series are gaidens and still canon or some such non-sense?
Hatred Edge Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 That.. makes a lot of sense. If I-no is non canon then that means she never saved Ky.... which means Sol leads the Holy Order against Dizzy.... and Faust is dead. And Potemkin is a knight.
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Potemkin dies too. So does Johnny, May, the Jellyfish Pirates in general. I believe Dizzy is also killed, not sure though.
EasyModeNub Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Hasn't it already been said that the X series are gaidens and still canon or some such non-sense? Last I remember it was said that they were noncanon. They might have retconned, but that would be really lame. I like the original canon of Dizzy erecting a gear army and going to war, ending with her and Sol going 1v1.
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Well, I personally am not cool with half the cast dying and gears tearing up everything. :8/:
SolxBaiken Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 lol, but yes I too have often wondered about Ky's life in Overture, but Ishi-kun said he made this too clear up the fog and inconsistencies...yet ironically it only made it worst, most likely Ishi-kun tossed everything out the trash and labeled it "noncanon" or "gaiden" if you want to be politically correct. In doing this he has the ability to do whatever he want and it will be law! Also to avoid actually working on the story and patching up these loop holes XD (Ishi you lazy bastard) Most likely I-no and the Holy Wars were pretty much erased all together, really you only need 3 key characters to have Guilty Gear's story; Sol, Justic, and That Man. Realizing this the entire cast found in Guilty Gear: The Missing Link, was destroyed (figuretivly speaking) leaving only Sol (causes he's the protagonist) and Ky (because fangirls would bitch). Now Ishi-kun plans on telling only the most basic and essential part of Guilty Gear's story which is the Death/Rebirth of Justice and Gears, trying not to get side tracked with amazing side story and characters.... EDIT: Yes X is gaiden, no reconation, nothing has connection, Ishi-kun doesn't want to go through with all the trouble....
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Didn't they say Overture was a direct sequel from The Missing Link? X and XX didn't happen. But that means the original GG did.
SolxBaiken Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Didn't they say Overture was a direct sequel from The Missing Link? X and XX didn't happen. But that means the original GG did. Yes Ishi did, the time line goes: The Missinging Link-----------------------------------------------------Overture | | | V Alt timeline, all the awesome stuff, X series, the novels, Drama CDs, etc!
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Yeah, which rules out half the cast dying. I honestly see a big "X, XX, and AC+ are now canon" coming. With rejoicing following shortly.
SolxBaiken Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Yeah, which rules out half the cast dying. I honestly see a big "X, XX, and AC+ are now canon" coming. With rejoicing following shortly. Well technically the way Ishi wrote Overture, hell not even the first Guilty Gear happened...it's kinda like the story freezes after Justice is sealed, there's no Testament trying to revive her using a tournament as a guise, no PWAB plotting sinster things in the dark, not even Axl jumping from here to there.... Overture follows it's own timeline only taking with it the "needed" parts: 1. Justice and gear were doing bad things 2. Justice is sealed (but Gears are still active...) 3. at SOME point Ky's wife was a hunted gear 4. That Man created gears Basically Ishi is re-writing everything about Guilty Gear (even how it's played ) and unless all of a suddent Guilty Gear 3: Aria of Dissonece tries to write back at least the original cast, don't expect ANY GG to be canon besides Overture... confused yet?
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I am more or less confused about why he would make Overture, then go ahead and make AC+ story still. I am going to continue thinking in the mindset that the X series did happen and that Overture isn't for years to come after. At least until I play Overture/Ishiwatari gives us a straight answer on what's going on. He seemed pretty sure at first but then I think it started to get kinda sketchy on what's canon and what's not.
SolxBaiken Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 First off Ishi really had nothing to do with AC+'s story, saddly this already puts into question AC+'s canon-ity Second Overture takes place 5 years after Missing Link, which would more or less place it not to far from Midnight Carnival (and to a lesser extent AC+ and to an EVEN lesser extent Judgement, for some reason people consider Judgement the first sequel to Midnight Carnival ) Trust me, from all his interviews and stuff, Ishi just sounds lazy, he really doesn't want to deal with all the plot holes and non-fluidity that the X series, novels, and Drama CDs have brought with them. He wants to make more Guilty Gear, but doesn't want to tie up loose ends (he must be a lowsy boyfriend x.x). But hell, anything's possible right? But don't count on it, if it's this much of a pain in the ass for us, how bad do you think it is for Ishi-kun?
DonMungMung Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 He seemed pretty sure at first but then I think it started to get kinda sketchy on what's canon and what's not. That was before the Overture sales data (on a completely unrelated note, Ygg, why do you make your font bold? I'm mentally readin' your posts with a loud voice haha. although I guess it matches with the Majora's Mask moon avatar ya got there :0 ) Kinda wanted to keep away from this thread, but I'm curious if there will be attempts to connect Overture II with the first Guilty Gear and the Drama CDs. Will Ishiwatari try to include everything together, or will he take bits 'n pieces he likes? Oh god, if he makes Overture Ky some sort of clone/twin/zombie/angel (...actually, zombie would be pretty awesome), I'm gonna cry. Also: I like stories with interestin' development/plot, with characters that are not terribly out-of-character. :3;;
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I am not really expecting anything. I actually have expect to be left with a half done story which a bunch of people will jump all over trying to tie up loose ends themselves. After every single bad story theory is done, there will be one SHINING theory done by someone that is near-perfectly probable and everyone will accept it. So basically like Star Wars. After movie 6 a bunch of authors wrote books which are officially canon. Er, or something like that, you know? I just like to bold my font. I do it in every forum I post in if it is an option they give. Like I said, I just want a good wrap up for Faust or a good role in the end story and I will be happy.
DonMungMung Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 But hell, anything's possible right? But don't count on it, if it's this much of a pain in the ass for us, how bad do you think it is for Ishi-kun? He's also probably rolling around in thousands of yen bills, so I don't know if I could really relate to the guy. Although I didn't know that AC+'s story wasn't directed by Ishiwatari. Makes me curious if the guy honestly gives a shit 'bout the 2D fighting story, or if he just wants to work on the 3D Overture series. (Which is fine, but PLEASE Ishiwatari, PLEASE go back to drawing the character art ;_; ) (Ygg: Ah, boldin' your font's just a thing then? haha, that's cool)
Circuitous Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 If Ky dies in the Holy Wars how the fuck was he in GG1?
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 If Ky dies in the Holy Wars how the fuck was he in GG1?Exactly. Overture = No I-no. Therefore Ky is killed without her help. Before he is able to help seal Justice.
Circuitous Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 slghslnfs if GG1 is the main story and GG2 is the continuation of the main story and Ky is in both clearly I-No saving him during the Holy Wars is entirely meaningless.
Yggdrasill Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 My head hurts.. I guess Ky is suddenly stronger in the Overture story? Whatever. I just don't want 13+ characters to not exist.
