I have A LOT of (divisive) opinions on REVELATOR's story as a whole, but seriously, Dizzy's was completely under utilized and used poorly. She essentially spent several years dead and outside of a (criminally) brief (yet more understandable as they were RIGHT in the middle of a crisis) scene, no one so much as batted an eyelash. I was hoping for more in the sequel and somehow got EVEN LESS! So yeah, some shit needs to change. I'm interested in seeing her interact with Ky and Sin, but (especially now with everything out in the open) Sol and Dizzy need some serious 1-on-1 time.

All I want from Dizzy's Episode/role in REV 2's extended story is Father-Daughter time with her and Sol.

Ya know, I was going to shrug that off as one of your overly impulsive comments, as if fighters had never taken inspiration from other sources (not limited to each other) . . . then I saw these:

No, cause Yomi is a card game (which serves a completely different, and arguably more niche, audience) and was more compromise than anything else. Literally all of Sirlin's games (Yomi, Flash Duel, Puzzle Strike, Codex . . . hell even Pandante) have essentially been leading to this, he's finally come full circle. Sirlin has an . . . "interesting" philosophy of game design; while I cannot argue that all his games are at least "fun" I never know how to feel about them upon putting more thought into them, and the mechanics of Fantasy Strike (really, why did you name it the same as the overarching metaworld) are giving me that same feeling of questionable unease. But I'll wait till PSX vids and reports before forming a more formal opinion. At the very least I have main (Setsuki) and sub (Jaina) that are always universally appealing to me in each game.

WTF, I sequester myself to the mountains in order to hone my skills and everything just dies here Q.Q Anyways, English patch notes for 1.03 which brings a few welcome improvements!

Summer Jam X was fun but I can't wait till about a month or so out when people are more consistent and familiar with the system, so much damage left on the table . . . Also, another collection of event videos pulled from Heart's actual last game (can't believe I forgot this after playing the opening a dozen times on RoF . . .) Sky Love III: Also for any aspiring Zarina players:

Just like with Mui Mui, SNK (re)released an old PV from Heart's last game appearance, Sky Love 2: Sky's Reunion: Also, finally pre-order my additional (digital) copy of XIV from the PS Store, I thought the Neo Esaka theme would feature Yappari Esaka! but it's an original rendition; very solemn and kind of saddening, but really beautiful. K-K-KOF is here again ; -;7

Yeah, I'm blind = x= Also, since they brought over Alice, I'm really surprised she didn't get Battle of Fate for a Fateful Battle track (I mean, it was pretty much labeled for this )
-
So Fuzzy Guard was NOT an intended feature and as of today SNK has confirmed they are working on a patch to fix it (no timetable). Also apparently Falcoon did a bunch of illustrations for the artbook, which strengths my theory that he had a hand in the design (creative input) of the new characters. And the featured extra tracks (note these are all listed as "XIV ver" so they are likely arrangements. Also they are listed as "Fateful Battle X" in descending order): - Soy Sauce For Geese (Geese Fatal Fury Special theme) - Micha Iya! (King Art of Fighting theme) - Seoul Road ('96 Korea theme) - IKARI (Ikari Warriors) - Ice Place ('00 Kula theme) - tachi bou ke (vocal ver) - New Order (XI Kyo/Iori/Shingo theme)

So there's now a "Coming Soon" tab on the official website . . . Also, the web manual (really sad this wasn't physical . . . *sigh* this gen :\) has some tidbits I found interesting: - Story Mode: "Clear the game with a specific team to see that team's unique ending. And if you clear the game with certain combinations of team members..." (I assume this just refers to special illustrations as in past games, as it is alluded to in the "Artwork" section of the Gallery: "View artwork acquired by clearing story mode with a specific combination of characters. Try figuring it out by challenging story mode with 3 characters who seem related.") - Online: There is a tab menu that will "Open Live from PlayStation® to see KOF XIV broadcasts, video clips, and screenshots shared by other players." (this is pretty nifty in my book!) - Rank match data: you can choose to hide your Ranked match losses, draws, and win ratio (I know some people are really self conscious about this, for better or worse, so it's interesting that it's an option) - Gallery: OVER 400 illustrations!? (but apparently you'll get 1 for each round completed in Story, which will well exceed that limit; also you can apparently accept "fight bonus" from your Ranked match history; which apparently acts like Nintendo's Street Pass and allows you to randomly get 1 item from your opponent's gallery, assuming you don't already have it. Cool) - Also there is a apparently "Unique Background Music" which is unlocked by "battling with a specific combination of characters". Most curious, but I swear I heard one of the leaked videos playing The New Order (Kyo, Iori, Shingo Team XI theme) in the back . . . - Rank Skip Mode: you can toggle (1 time only) if you want to go through the rankings normally or get auto "seeded" based on your first 10 ranked matches (similar to how REVELATOR works) - Overall it seems like SNK really examined ARC's style of netplay functions hard, but while they have nico comments, they took it a step further with sound effects (such as applause and booing; excessive playback will result in a "lockout" so others won't hear from you for a set period of time) - In your online profile, YOU CAN CHANGE THE TEXT THAT SCROLLS IN STAGES! (fuk u consumer version Arena/Coliseum stage Q.Q)
-
We're almost there!
-
If anyone is up for some light reading, SNK has updated the website with individual prologues for each team. "With this, winning KOF isn't a dream anymore!" SHINGO!! lolol These prologues actually ain't half bad, I hope story mode is equally as competent.
-
Knowing the trivia behind their stage gives me a new appreciation for it, also Heart's EXs flow pretty well together! .o. She may not be the flashiest, but she seems really solid, kind of like Elisabeth.
-
This broadcast is mostly aimed at new players, not really anything /new/ to be learned about the game consumer wise

So he's Tira (Soul Calibur) except both of his stances are useful
-
- repeat detail on demo - pointed this out earlier but, WA (Villains Team theme) uses parts from Ryo (Team Korea's 95 theme; it is erroneously written as '94 in video) - Meitenkun's charge Specials have 3 different stages that depend on how long you hold back before releasing - it apparently took them longer to get Mature's face right than it did Vice; they wanted to make her more than just a "beauty", they also wanted to bring out her vicious snake like personality - the sax in Saxophone Under the Moon was recorded live! (it was expensive!) - Mian switches her mask after EVERY move(!) and her idle pose even switches it a few times lol - Zarina's seiyuu improvised her accent to give her a unique flair (it is especially apparent in her win quotes) - Team Psycho Soldier's stage is actually based on an actual locale in Shanghai that the developers visited - apparently there's an "easter egg" in the Psycho Soldier theme that they hope people check out in the full product (note: their theme is listed as "instrumental", so if I had to guess, perhaps vocals similar to '94 theme) - the background characters in Another World Team's stage were actually created with mo-cap! (it took a long time to do them all) - Angel was actually the first female character made for the game and was used as the quality control standard for the other women going forward - Alice's sound effects come from the Fatal Fury Premium (pachi-slot) game which she originates from - as pointed out before, a lot of XIV's dev members are vets from the Fatal Fury series of games, so they put a lot of effort into those characters especially! - 28min mark and onward is an exhibition using the 12 newest characters added since the previous 36 character build. Expect the next special segment to air in early August.

Nope, no Special VS themes (sadly)
