Gaiden != non-canon. I'm a newb and I know this. What's your excuse?

*sigh* he said certain parts were non-canon, as in the endings that don't actually happen (usually when someone dies). the main storyline to the games themselves are fine though.

i know i read something like that. was it the jp wiki? :psyduck:

well i feel blade's pain now because it seems no one reads my posts either :gonk:

Your post was one line with only vague references. I can't read five feet deep in a kiddie pool. That and the gaiden thing still gets brought up all the time. I GO WITH WHAT I KNOW. Not all the endings can take place, of course you're right, but until a direct sequel comes out that proves which endings are true and which aren't you can't really know.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...dizzy left the pirates and she elopes with Ky! They eventually got married. Oh, guess what? they have a baby name "SIN" !! Happy now?? No more dizzy topics okay? who care what happen to her !

it was in the interview

so what's more reliable? so do u have any direct source?

Um...did you not read my post? I included sources, direct ones, at the end of every point.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...dizzy left the pirates and she elopes with Ky! They eventually got married.

Oh, guess what? they have a baby name "SIN" !! Happy now??

No more dizzy topics okay? who care what happen to her !

No.

Dizzy does not leave the pirates at all. Yes, she does take some time to visit with Ky, but there is nothing to state that anything more (i.e. any kind of a love relationship) develops. In one of her story endings for X+, it's set 100 years later and Dizzy is the leader of the Jellyfish. She's leading an attack, along with the Third Holy Order against a Gear force. Sol's there too. (SOURCE- GGX+ story.) The Jellyfish Pirates are her family, she's not going to leave them.

Also! There is nothing saying that Ky and the "wife" get married. In fact, they ARE NOT married. It's been stated, by Ishiwatari-san himself in the interview from the MC book. This is something I've already pointed out but here it is again-

Q14: Ky’s wife Lady of the Bower. Does she as an ordinary queen show herself before the public?

A14: She does not show herself. Though Ky says wife, those are only words of his decision, not that they are officially/publicly married. That is why, from the public view and knowledge he is unmarried. The existence of the Lady of the Bower is information known only to a small group of the knighthood.

Ky is not married. Not to Dizzy or anyone else. THIS IS FACT.

The "Dizzy is Sin's mother" is speculation. This is NOT fact; quit spreading lies. Until we have a direct source saying that, we CANNOT assume it is true.

dude, I'm serious ! this kinda' concerns with the plot line. I just wanna know what's the real ending for Sol in GGX + ..

Who won the fights in GG1/GGX+ aren't really that important. It's like that old saying, "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game" (lol). The winner does not matter, plain and simple. The events (story) are what's important. Even if Sol won or lost the fight, Dizzy still ends up with the Jellyfish Pirates either way.

......

WIN!

Cripes what the hell happened to this thread? :psyduck: What I wanna know more 'bout I-no. As crazy of a bitch as she is, her powers really interests me. I'm also curious to her relationship to other characters, especially Axl :v: I really wish though, that instead of games like Overture, that Ishiwatari would make a RPG or Police text game, like Phoenix Wright or somethin'. They're totally not fighting games, but it would greatly please the plotwhore in me (and other fans, I'm sure)

I'm going to say this in a clear concise manner so that none of you children misunderstand.

When you read a story, you don't read it with YOUR BUBBLEHEADED OPINION ATTACHED. You read it to gain knowledge of how the story progresses. I don't care if you think Millia is sexy, I don't care if you think Dizzy has big boobs and pregnant, Ky is gay, Sol is gay, Bridget is a girl, Faust is Baldhead, or the myriad of other speculations put on this table. Hell, I don't care if you're horny as hell and wanna bang Litchi or any other fictional-character-turned-sex-object in your next fanfic.

IF IT IS NOT TRUE, OR YOU DON'T KNOW, DON'T SAY THAT IT IS.

Of all the things I hate in fan-spew, pairings of man x man, woman x man, woman x woman, or whatever nonsense the kiddies spout, or fan-based endings...the THING I HATE THE MOST...is when people accept this TRIPE as the TRUTH.

In addition to this, insulting people is not my forte. I do not LIKE calling people on their stupidity...it makes me feel..."Heavy".

I try really really hard to put stuff together in logical order, and organize it in a way that people can digest with as little difficulty and ambiguity as possible. Given that there are HOLES in the storyline either due to imperfections or what are known as "Popularity Writing" where the author writes the story based on which characters are more popular...I do my best to keep track of those things that are LOGICAL and make sense!

For example...I do not expect much of a plot change to Zappa because the majority of his endings end in the following ways:

not so good, bad, or very bad (XX)

bad, or very bad (AC+)

Given that...there is VERY LITTLE LIKELIHOOD that the storyline for him will change dramatically between these games because the majority of his story is what is known as "Filler". Now, I understand that such a character is meant as humor and can be seen as popular to some fans...but understand that some characters are intended to jigsaw with the others in intended or unintended ways...such as when Zappa randomly scares Millia in AC+...this in no way changes her plot...it just aggrivates it. Some characters could probably solve their problems by a short blurb of conversation and that would be all there was to it....like Faust attacking Ky because he thought he was suspicious...

May I remind everyone that this series of games is of the FIGHTING GAME/BEAT EM UP STRATEGY genre. It means that everyone solves their problems through fighting...in real life, this is not logical. So asking the question "Who is good?", "Who is evil?"....it's whoever you think will win the next set of rounds with SLASH. That's how a fighting game is decided. Granted, Daisuke does his best to make such a story structure as complex and interesting as possible with the limitations he has to work with and really, he did a fine job with all of it considering what I've read so far. The fact that he made a jump to Real-time Strategy Combat means that he knows a thing or two about the limitations in story-telling that Fighting games are known for...so he needed a new medium.

----

Having said that wall-o-text, I'll sum up in italic so you only need to read this part: Fighting game stories are imperfect and have gaps that lead to speculation, but this speculation is never true unless the author says it is. And usually the author only agrees with the fans when the fans' opinions outnumber his own (i.e. popularity).

So finally, I have this word to say to the likes of MilliaBigTime45, kryman123, SolRocks, Zazz, and anyone else who has their mind made up in their heart of hearts that the storyline is a certain way:

No matter what speculation you want to believe, or who you heard it from (even me), it's NOT TRUE AND YOU'RE WRONG. You will continue to be wrong until Daisuke caves and gives you what you want...and this is unlikely because he is out to make MONEY.

You will only be RIGHT when you look at the story at face value and ACCEPT IT without theories and speculation and treat the characters as they are PORTRAYED.

If you cannot accept this or refuse it...in my eyes it's better if you don't bother asking questions at all. If anyone asks me another question with this kind of fan-inserted bias in mind again, I will refuse to respond because what you want isn't truth...it's fanfiction...and if you want fanfiction, go write it yourself.

It's a project I'm working on, with Blade's assistance, among other things we're doing.

Bascially, I'm redoing the entire timeline for the games. Rather than just show the years and major events that have occured (which is all the current timeline is) I'm showing what every single character was doing during those events. The goal is to put evertything into its proper perspective as a lot of the information concerning the storyline and character's back stories have been rather disjointed.

I've been calling it the Rainbow Timeline because each character's line is a different color and it's quite colorful. :kitty:

At the very least, it's not going to be anywhere near as complicated as say, the UNIX history timline, but don't expect it to be all cut-and-dry either. All story paths from all the games are being included, with notions to mark which ones are the probable "true" path connecting the events from one game to another (as well as the events of the Drama CDs, novels and manga).

To echo something Blade said earlier...

As for everything else, me and Raging Tofu have something big planned that will compile this information soon, so please be patient. :keke:

Rainbow Timeline is part of that "something" but given that there's a decade's worth of games and information, don't expect anything soon.

lol, thank you for your concern. Actually though, it's not all that difficult considering the information's all out there; it just needs to organized and analyzed (and in some cases, translated). Mostly, it's just time consuming.

Wow, just wow. That is very true Blade, yet very ironic. You say the Guilty Gear series is just a game and everybody should not consider it a story, yet you talk about the characters and their backgrounds which is part of the said story.

I mean, I never was a fan of fanfics or speculations on characters but dude don't get all work up over it.

I know you probably thinking I am just mocking your comment and saying all your theories are bullshit, but I feel the same way as you. The Guilty Gear series is just a fighting game.

Though sometimes dude there are shady storylines in fighting games, like Street Fighter.

One year its just a popular fighting game in arcades, the next it is filled with character developments and story outlines among characters themshelves.

I know you feel people on this thread are either dumb or just insane (like myself mainly the insane part), but if you want a better way of describing this series, just say it is like the Super Mario Bros series: really fun yet not having a constructive story.

sorry for this stupid question (a bit offtopic) in gg chile, a user ask about jam's fighting style.is it a real Martial art or a invented style?

Posted

It might be, but I've never heard of it or seen it implemented. 'Course, Martial arts is a pretty big category, so maybe it exists somewhere. Alls I know is that she's always in ready position with her kicks. Chamberin' or whatever it's called. Speakin' sarcastically, I don't think there's any brand of martial arts that deals with flying dragon kicks (literally!) and puffballs :v:

I never said you couldn't speculate. I said don't tote your own opinions in along with the facts as they are.

I'm not about to say that GG is "just a fighting game". It's an idea and a popular one. It's also a tournament scene, a source for a great amount of fandom, as well as a very ear-opening experience. For me especially since before this game series, I didn't even listen to Heavy Metal music much at all. I wouldn't go so far as to say 'life-changing' or anything like that...but its history entwines with its fans and we wouldn't all be here today without it. When I say "GG is a fighting game" I mean that's the format in which the story is created. I can also say "GG is an RTS" and "GG is a Drama CD" among other things, I wouldn't be wrong but those are other categories GG falls under.

Though sometimes dude there are shady storylines in fighting games, like Street Fighter.

True but up till now I don't believe they've gotten historical context as much as GG has...even Blazblue has historical context.

I know you feel people on this thread are either dumb or just insane (like myself mainly the insane part), but if you want a better way of describing this series, just say it is like the Super Mario Bros series: really fun yet not having a constructive story.

Well I did say that, but sometimes people don't want to acknowledge it. They continued to ask me who the good guys and bad guys are et cetera. Anyways, it just so happens even I have my limits in temperment (I am human so I get mad too :v: ).
