shadowassault Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 So I am a local New York City Skullgirls player. I don't know anyone who stayed with the game from the start or knows how to play efficiently or hell wants to play at all. We should all come together and play cause the scene is dead and we need to bring this game back dragon ball status. I know what your thinking....online random asking people to come out and play with people they don't know...no I am not a predator XD Nah but any who, if anyone is up for this we should pick a spot to play, anyone know a place that we could meet up and play for free? I have my school's cafe basement we could play in. (Queensborough Community College) or we can try Queens College since they already have games running there (Not much of Skullgirls). SO ITS TIME TO GET THIS GAME BACK UP. it was supported with $800,000 I doubt it wouldn't get that much money without some sort of following. So message me or just chat on this forum and we can set up sessions cause man I need to get some games in.
Dullyanna Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 it was supported with $800,000 I doubt it wouldn't get that much money without some sort of following. It does have a following, but not one of serious tournament players obviously. Dunno why people can't seem to accept or realize that fact.
skd Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) It does have a following, but not one of serious tournament players obviously. Dunno why people can't seem to accept or realize that fact. most of the "serious tournament players" in NY (arguably one of the more active regions, also having a pretty high level of play) played skullgirls while it was the new thing. please dont be so quick to dismiss things you are unaware of. There are other reasons people dont play (a bunch of which are the same reasons why people dont play other games so...) By mentioning "serious tournament players: are you implying that only the "fandom" or WHATEVER pays attention to skullgirls? why would you think that? im aware that the reason why it garnered so much money was because of that kind of following, but it doesnt invalidate the "serious tournament players" who pay attention to it. fighting games as a whole generally have much larger "followings" outside of the "community". i know skullgirls has little to no tournament activity but still :\ the interest is there! im not sure why you were so quick to dismiss his attempt to garner activity.
