Timing to air-throw Slayer's forward kick?

Specifically, what's the timing to jump -> air throw him out of forward kick/feint? Do I jump immediately after his feet leave the ground? Or is it like throwing an opponent out of a yellow burst where I jump and throw at (almost) the exact same time?
