That's a pretty good idea. Horsie RC> command grab actually might be usefull, but if you abuse it I'm pretty sure they'll cling on to it and poke you. But i guess with your other options of force break for an instant high, that's pretty good too, but harder to pull off (or it's just me because i suck at TK FB-hele) Overall, it sounds pretty good. I'll have to try it out first.

After Horsie RC, you are already in the air, no need to TK the FB.

Just got back from the Hofstra tourney. I got knocked into the loser's bracket after a bitter duel with Eddie, a matchup I've only seen on youtube. I learned a lot about what I need to practice, and what sort of things my game is missing. Eddie has SO MANY pokes that make f.S > 2D unsafe, or even any blocktring > 2D. It seems like I could only afford to lay a mat if I got knockdown. Things I need to learn how to do: -after knockdown, make a short controlled dash with 5p to space a bazooka -execute a dash-jump during bazooka for mixup -instant block > SRK in one smooth command -continue pressure/mixup after successful 5k>5p oki -TK missile more consistently -airthrow as anti-air more consistently Despite the fact that I enjoyed the experience, traveling out to Long Island isn't easy, and I really wish there were more casuals in manhattan...or maybe even something on GGPO would have been nice...

Air throwing as anti-air is very strong against Eddie. Most Eddies like to fly, so try to use it as much as you can, they wont see it coming most of the time if you superjump>airthrow + the fact that eddie's j.K isn't as great as it was in #reload, air throwing will be more effective. Bazooka Oki > 669 dash jump is very good for mixup, and be careful about using missiles too much, eddie can reflect and if he does while you're rushing in, than you'll get hit by your own missiles -I tend to not use missiles as much against Eddie because I'm scared of his reflect Overall, Robo vs. Eddie matchup is really hard against robo. I'm playing defensive most of the time. Spamming 5HS hoping for a CH while Eddie does his pressure is not very effective because 5HS will hit little eddie thus not CH-ing... I usually just hope my DP will hit him but I dont use my DP too much because it'll get predictable and he can punish. Watch for holes in his pressure and you can 2k>2s>2d

Yay new Robo-Videos! First all of all I don't like your colour. But srsly, just skimmed the video but here are some feedback. - Against Ky you can definitely instant block his CSE for tension more. - You should FD to cancel your dash into block, for example FD would have saved you from the SE at 5:20 - You can follow up 5HS > 5HS > FRC into running jump > jK > jS > jump > jK > jD instead of jK > jS > jump > jS > jHS for a bit more damage But still a solid robo.

As Grey said, solid robo. Nice FRCs and picked-up combos. Some stuff to think about... You should do something with those blocked 5p/2p hits. since AC, 2p is cancel-able into 5s and 2k, giving you some cool blockstring options other than just using 2p to skim some frame advantage off of 5p. Try to get in there more and do more shenanigans with 5k, like 5kk>slight pause>k > short dash> etc it's so effective that you can often just do 5kkk>bazooka. Work on your defense. Mainly blocking those 5ds. That's about the only time the ky got any blockstrings in on you. You should try adding 5p to your list of anti-air moves. It doesn't really have any special properties other than quick recovery, but in the right situation you can get a nice counter hit. A couple of times you hit Ky with 5d as he jumped. You definitely could have hopped up and air-thrown him as he tech'd. Keep it up, and thanks for reviving the thread. I plan on getting some recording done after thanksgiving, so hopefully I can contribute something later.

thanks these are good tips, a lot of stuff i should already know and be doing, but oh well -_- vedasisme, I'll be in the NYC area in late Dec, where's a good place to play GG?

For NYC GG, unless you know someone who lives in the area, you're going to want to look for the Chinatown Fair. It's pretty much the only arcade in the region, and it's a hub for gamers on the east coast. The GG machine isn't nearly as popular as the SF4 and BB machines, or so I hear. I haven't been able to go there lately.

Dope picture. Speaking of which, all the ones in our Robo guide have self destructed. Someone PMd me about it awhile ago. Most will be pretty easy to find, but if anyone has a copy of Robo in his pimp throne surrounded by his own harem of women, please let me know. Happy Holidays y'all.

The recent Dogura matches at a-cho have proven that he is constantly learning and applying new things to his game. Unfortunately, it has also established that he's not very good at losing. He keeps demanding rematches! Kind of like me, I guess. In this case though, I wouldn't want to learn from his example, haha.

I'm having trouble keeping TK missile in my repertoire. Some matches, i can do it 100% of the time, other matches 0%. I've mostly learnt to do it by feeling around, and doing a quick 268S input. Does anyone have any helpful tips on how to get it down pat?

Posted

if i'm not getting the timing from 2369s i try to do 236987s as fast as i can that extra 87 input usually takes care of doing it too early

Does anyone general advice for playing against eddie i've watched loads of vids and I know giving him pressure is the key but when your in his blockstring, when is the best time to do a dragon I can never seem to see the opening and I usually end up getting beat up really bad for it.
