That's true but notice they are talking about frameworks, if Snk uses an existing framework like Unreal then they cut out engine dev entirely.

If someone haven't seen yet, a trailler for a garou pachinko was released

it shows terry, geese, mai, billy, yamazaki, raiden/big bear and krauser. Some things to notice
-the models of Nakoruru, Terry Bogard, Haohmaru, Geese Howard and Alice Garnet of this trailler and samurai shodown pachinko are the same used in the add for game designers, CG artists, and programmers they posted in may of last year and the image they used in their site in november of last year.
-all characters that shows up in this garou pachinko trailler are with different clothes, never used in any other game
-billy cane (0:49) and raiden/big bear (0:56) are completely unrecognizable. Looks like they received a completely new design
 
so, with this we can come up with some speculations (take with a grain of salt)

-what is the sense of using a completely new designs, and make some characters unrecognizable when you are using the image of famous characters for a pachinko? The only thing i could think is....maybe those new designs had been maked to be used in a new game (like gg's pachinko designs beeing used in xrd)

-geese is alive in the trailler

-the cheerful and friendly personality of terry is not implied in any way in the trailler. He only was like this when looking for revenge. This is, fatal fury 1 (when geese was alive).

-raiden is in yakuza-like clothes...with suggest that he may be working for geese (this was only the case in fatal fury 1).

-so if they are planning anything with the garou series, it may be a remake/reboot of the first game? But Mai beeing there contradict this, as she is from fatal fury 2...

 

edit: according to Professor from mad man's caffe, they will open a press conference in the 11th (next friday), so we may have som news (or not)
