P4A PSN Invitational (June 22nd, 2014 @ 3PM EST)

Hey, what's up guys?

Well...for the past few months, I've personally have been at a loss of how to make the netplay things more interesting. After intense thinking (more of speedrunning Sonic Games and deciding to fully quit current job to relieve stress), I've came up with an idea. I pretty much took the winners of the netplay tournaments I've hosted in the past (2nd or 3rd if above already qualified) and created this event. In the past, there were some issue with back end stuff that kinda made things shitty at times but I will promise that those kinks will be worked out by the time of this tournament.

Also, with cooperation with Nerd455, anyone who places 1st in his events also qualifies for this tournament.

Anyways, here's the format:

 

• Single Elimination (if everyone participate, there's a lot of people)
• 2/3 rounds
• Best 3/5 matches
• Grand Finals: Race to 7
• Either Yukiko's stage (Music Room) or Mitsuru's stage allowed to reduce lag
• Character lock tournament (once you pick character, you have to stick with them so choose mains please)
• Prize: TBD (Aiming for a $50 PayPal Card)

Changes made:

1. Invitational list: Reduced it down to 1st place (2nd or 3rd if above already qualified) only but made a new thread for people to qualify into this event.

2. Players: I placed all the players who qualified into the event in the topic along with the tournament in question. I also put empty spots in for the qualification players, people who qualify out of Nerd455's events, and 4 personal picks.

3. Stream: It's going to be a flop between www.twitch.tv/token and www.hitbox.tv/token depending on the delay and how chat will operate that day. Will probably play by ear.

Catching up on YouTube now, since I couldn't watch live. Y'all are amazing. Just wanted to share my thanks as a lurker -- it's always a treat to see strong players face off and it helps scrubs like me so much, so thanks for keeping these events alive, Token, and thanks to the participants for displaying their skills.

I just wanted to say I can't thank Token enough for hosting these tournaments and allowing me to get some kind of tourney experience. I've learned so much about my play style just from watching replays and listening to commentary from players like Colpevole & Omnix who gave me a different perspective on how I should play/analyze my opponent. I feel way more confident attending my next offline tournament this week and you all have been a tremendous help.
