Agito Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 From what I've experienced this is pretty standard a pretty standard matchup in general. Ken can punish unsafe attacks such as sweeps and AoA during mixup with 5B. Ken has longer range but Akihiko is faster so I wouldn't throw out too many normals while playing at neutral. Koro is very helpful in neutral as well and can stop predicted jump-ins with 214C/D and 5C to pester Akihiko from certain ranges. When Akihiko is in awakening mode and has access to Maziodyne I would suggest putting Koro away because the super will do a large amount of damage and possibly kill him; especially if he OMC's. Against shadow akihiko koro may have to be put away more often but the general matchup still remains the same. Once Ken starts to pressure Akihiko the matchup becomes significantly easier. Ken can stay within max 5A range to attack Aki at a distance where DP will whiff and j.B should have enough range to beat out Akihikos 2B (still have to test) but with the added pressure from Koromaru Akihiko probably won't be doing too much of anything other than blocking. I think that this match is in Ken's favor. With good pressure and good defense this matchup shouldn't be too hard to deal with.
